Batman Minifig Customisation Contest

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
Catanas replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Loving the new batch! Especially Morgaine le Fay, I really like those those puffy sleeves. One thing I will note however is that Star Sapphires colour seems a little off. It seems to lean a little too much towards red and not enough pink! However, wonderful as usual. I do hope you continue this as I do love the Justice League cartoon, and if I could put in a little request, how about a Booster Gold. -
Speedcat zooms into The Gotham Museum just in time to disarm one of the Jokers Laughter bombs. ADDITIONAL IMAGES: - Larger image of Vignette Some of the design work. The decals themselves Project Inspiration. As soon as I saw this contest, I knew I was going to enter the hero category as my first real attempt at minifigure customization. I love fun and quirky heroes, especially the Flash. I was a bit unsure at first about doing a speedster but then I decided what the heck, why can't Gotham have a speedster? So off to work I went. Her looks came partly from a character I'd posted before in my reviews here, and partly from my DC Universe character, but with a totally revamped costume (Pinktastic!). Her backstory was another thing entirely. I wanted to try and have a way for a young British (Aye, British because well, there aren't enough Brits in Gotham!) speedster to get into Gotham and one of the comics I'd fallen in love with recently gave me a way in! Knight and Squire are kind of like a British version of Batman and Robin, and get involved in Batmans affairs from time to time. As with most comic book British heroes, magic takes a big role and there was my way in! After that I just had to figure out a way to move her to Gotham. Waynetech seemed like a great answer, and it allowed Batman to keep an eye on her...which he does! As this was my first proper attempt at customizing, I ended up going through a few torsos and legs experimenting with decals, but settled on Vinyl stickers in the end as I couldn't quite seem to get the gloss coat right. It doesn't look too bad however! :) Cost: - Mia Hair - £1.00 4x Black Torso - 4x 0.30 = £1.20 4x Black Legs - 4x 0.20 = 0.80 Surfer Girl Legs - 0.10 2x Dark Pink arm sets - 2x 0.60 = £1.20 Transfer Paper - £2.20 Vinyl Sticker Paper - £1.30 Final cost = £7.80 + the odd bit of decal fix and gloss coat. Hope you enjoy it! Cat (PS: My photography still isn't the best! )

This is a very nice entry, with a great dazzling of gold! I can definitely see this fitting into the quirkiness of Batmans universe, and I do like the way you picked up a little inspiration from the figure descriptions :) Good luck with your entries!

Kid Flare - Young Master of Fire
Catanas replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Awesome entry! Good job going for someone without a mysterious tragedy! :) Is just what I've gone for, and hopefully I'll get mine up soon. I do like the modifications to the skateboard and the helmet, as it really helps bring the character to life. Good luck with all your entries! -
Looking forward to part 2! Thanks for the clean and crisp pictures. Very glad to see the printing is decent, as I've had a few less than happy prints of late. :( This and the skiff are the two sets I've been most looking forward to since jumping back into LSW and your review has helped seal the deal! :)

Totally awesome. I'm especially liking that Supergirl and Bane! And though Krypto is great, you need Streaky! :D Thumbs up from me! -
Batman Minifig Customisation Contest
Catanas replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Awesome idea for a contest but I have a quick question. When you say Batman Universe, does that limit it to Gotham, or perhaps any of the DC cities. I have a character idea but it might be a little too bright and fun for Gotham -
Modular Western project has reached 10K supporters on Cuusoo!
Catanas replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Personally, I don't care much for the whole western thing. That said, I am very glad this has made it to 10k supporters as a non licensed product. It boosts my faith in the system and I hope it makes it through the review. Good luck! -
https://www.ebgames.com.au/ps3-156608-LEGO-Batman-2-DC-Super-Heroes-PlayStation-3 Seems to be the Australian eb games. Normally, the wording 'characters' would normally make me assume ingame, the fact it says while stocks last makes me question that a little. (Yeh, that was just me being hopeful) I wants a Captain Cold :( Pfft, beaten to it.

Recently got a the new Falcon for my birthday! And the TIE fighter. Though I can see why some people call the minifigure selection for the new Falcon lacklustre, for someone like me, who is starting anew with Lego Star Wars, it's great to get the main cast! And the Original Lego TIE was one of the older Star Wars sets I owned back in the day before I sold it. But the new one more than makes up for it!

Gragh! You know I said recently when I got back into LEGO that I would not touch Star Wars and focus on my enjoyment of City and the modulars. This year I am being dragged back to the Galaxy far far away with the quality of the sets and figures. Your review has helped cement this as one of my first Star Wars purchases since Jabbas Prize. This and the Escape pod! Then I think I'll get an X wing, and a TIE fighter and.... Oh god :( Help!

This looks like a fun little model with some nice features that allow you to display it how you want, while being relatively accurate. It might well be my first UCS as the others just sit out of my price range! Also, am I the only one that enjoyed the designers chatter? Especially about each other at the end. I love seeing people enjoying their job.

Hey there. I've done a couple of reviews before and would like to sign up to see if I can improve upon them! Willing to learn, especially regarding photography. Not sure how soon I could start myself up but would be ace to get hints and tips while looking around! ^^

I do like his Rogues gallery, and you know, Han Solos new hood in the Echo base set would definitely suit Captain Cold. Though I do love Flash, I do agree that it would be very hopeful to get some solo sets. Technically though, there is one villain that wouldn't take much work, Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash! Just a quick colour change, hehe.

REVIEW: 6862 - Superman vs. Power Armour Lex
Catanas replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Licensed
Haha, no worries. I wouldn't say I'm a massive fan, particularly not of Superman, but I got into most of this through the animated stuff. I would probably take near enough the same view on the set if I didn't have that book lying around! But again, excellent review. -
REVIEW: 6862 - Superman vs. Power Armour Lex
Catanas replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Licensed
Awesome review with an equally great comic. I recently picked up this set as my first in months to cheer myself up a bit. Did the job nicely! Love the figures and the power armour is as intimidating as it should be. Although it's bigger than he is usually seen wearing, the larger suits do crop up from time to time. This one's from Supergirl: Cosmic adventures in the 8th Grade (Which I'll do some side advertising for because I think its awesome and fun ) Now what I really, really, really want, is a Flash set. -
Quite frankly, this is much more awesome than I was expecting. Every set I look at I am drawn to the Dinosaurs themselves and don't really care about anything else. They have really excellent moulding and great deal of character, unlike the plain old non printed animals I personally have tired of. Don't get me wrong, they still have a place in my heart, but as someone who enjoys colour and character, these stand out for me. Although sometimes it can be taken too far, these seem to be just right. Standouts being the T Rex and Triceratops of course.

What licensed minifigs would you like to see...
Catanas replied to mo123567's topic in Special LEGO Themes
For me, it would definitely 100% be American McGees version of Alice. However, since that is probably one of the most unlikely things ever, I would settle for any version on Wonderland they choose to make! :P
