  1. Those pics were from their ships' websites. I didn't think i'd have to resize those.
  2. Maritime Heritage Festivalin Port Washington, WI The Traditional Sailing Vessels that were There! S/V Denis Sullivan from Milwaukee, WI Pic links from festival: PIC1 PIC2 PIC3 PIC4 MAJ Folder Friends Good Will from South Haven, Michigan Pic links from festival: PIC1 PIC2 PIC3 PIC4 MAJ Folder Madeline from Traverse City, Michigan Pic links from festival: PIC1 PIC2 PIC3 PIC4 MAJ Folder Red Witch from Chicago, Illinois Pic links from festival: PIC1 PIC2 PIC3 PIC4 MAJ Folder My favorite ship was the Friends Good Will. It's a sloop-rigged vessel. The original vessel was built in 1810 and was used for merchant shipping. During the war of 1812, it came to an american port that had been taken by the british. The american flag was still raised at the fort and the ship went to the fort. The british took the vessel and renamed it the Little Belt. The maritime heritage festival was recently and it was the first time i had seen traditional sailing vessels in person. I toured the Madeline, and the other three vessels went on a quick sailing tours throughout the day, but i did not want to spend $25 for a one hour boat ride. I found out the Denis Sullivan is only a half-hour drive from where I live. The Sullivan leaves for florida next month, but next summer i could volunteer to help maintain the vessel and possibly sail in it.
  3. I like Mr. Phes' idea of merchant vessels and having merchants as another "team". Pirates don't go after imperial ships; all of the booty is in merchant vessels and merchant shops. I would like to see some merchant shops too. There could be various types of shops that includes one robbing pirate, one imperial guard catching the robber, and at least one shop owner/customers.
  4. For these cannons, I'd recommend using this type of brick for the butt end of the barrel: Here's an example of one cannon from the MOC Cannon Index to show what i'm talking about:
  5. Great work Mr. Artist!! There is so much detail in all of your work! I love the gallows, the fishermen, how nicely integrated everything is. The cannon wall is simple, effective, and nicely done. All it's missing now... ...is a shrubbery! One that's nice, but not too expensive.
  6. Hey, you're right. It would look very nice! I don't have all the brown i'd need , so i'll have to make a BL order with all the needed bricks. Sorry for the crummy pic. The Ewok is on the very front brandishing the sword, and the master chief is rowing right behind the Ewok. Ever watch Canadian Bacon. Yes, i will be making 6 or 7 landing craft (don't remember the exact amount ) Vessels very similar to the pic YnyklY posted above. I think the ore paddles may be too large for this craft. I'll have to do some experimentation and more research to come to a final conclusion. BTW: yeah i think you are right about the Storm Troopers and Ewoks. I'll have to put those on the next vessel.
  7. 1 Midshipman 3 crewmen 6 arabs 1 Master Chief 1, possibly 2, Ewoks total = 12 - 13 That's the Captain. Ya know, when parts of a lego collection are 22 years old, there are bound to be some yellowing. No worries. I may have to create a small unit of american artillerymen from that era then! Yes, the red and blue uniforms are of the same nation. The uniformed marines are worn by drummers and trumpeters, and the dark blue uniforms are worn by the other enlisted marines. I have gotten mostly done with the Captain's Gig (well, as done as i'm going to be at the moment) I really like the way the hull turned out. Not liking the benches too much though; I'm sure i (or someone else) will think of something. I am also not too sure about the rudder; I don't know if i'd like a plate or brick-built rudder. Here's the underside: If anyone has improvement ideas or seen someone else build a better rudder or benches, please let me know!
  8. Is there going to be a dock for my constitution when this whole thing is done? This is some great work Z. I really like the flag pole and crane. For the actual flag, I'd check out what B uses on the back of his ships.
  9. Thank you for the complements ppl! I have no idea! I don't have the info that describes how many ppl should be able to fit in these craft. Thanks for the suggestion SlyOwl The uniforms are accurate from the photo's i've found of ppl donning 1812 naval uniforms: I've also seen where very similar uniforms are worn in 1812 drawing and paintings found in a book i've borrowed from the library. I am very curious where you have gotten the naval uniform you described below:
  10. Nice little diorama you've got the Sir Wellington. I hope the Blue coats can survive the carnage of this new secret weapon. What ever you say Ozzy I think the Brickforge Cows are not as wild
  11. The landing craft completed so far! Captain's Gig: Mostly Done ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I figured that I could post my landing craft in a separate thread since they're pretty much eh... ...separate. These landing craft are a pretty significant size on their own and need to be built much differently than the frigate. I figure all of the landing craft (6 total i think) will be in this thread since they're all going to have close to the same type of construction anyways. Here are some progress pics of the Captain's Gig: I had built a Cutter a while ago for the Constitution but wanted to build boats that didn't rely on the modern bow pieces. I had based this idea on mainly on Captain Green Hair's and Errorist's long boat.
  12. I was getting ready to type up a response to this thread, but i see B has already worded my opinion so nicely. None of my marines on my Constitution have backpacks.

  14. Congrats B! Personally i think your first order of business ought to be: Pirates don't have CATAPULTS!
  15. Congrats again copmike, and congrats B. And congratulations all yous other guys!
  16. Thanks guys! As Mr. Spade said, I used only pieces that i had for now. In my Constitution BL purchases, i hope to add some more proper colored elements (Like a trans black canopy ). The lattice tail is as strong as it needs to be. Doesn't Klinger work with the Jeeps ? I guess my next MASH model will have to be a jeep. I put thread through 3mm flex hose. Unfortunately the hose is a clone, but i could never cut up a lego brick. The main support is three 3mm, rigid hoses, which are lego hoses.
  17. My wife and i really like the MASH TV series, all nine seasons. I wanted to build something from this TV series, and thought the helicopter would be the most challenging, and i don't think i've seen one very well done in my BS and MOCpages searchs. If i'm wrong about that, please feel free to point out where the folders are! Well here it is. The Bell 47 Mash Helicopter. I'm not satified with all of the brick colors, but i am very satisfied with how it looks. Here's a Wiki Article
  18. That is great news! Hopefully we can inspire some of these ppl to join the forum and share their MOCs.
  19. I picked up one scooter for myself, and it's awesome! Eilif's 6 comments sum it up nicely. I did not see the pistol holster since i was too busy getting MasterChief items. I'll have to get a few of those in my next order.
  20. Hey Teddy (or CGH), when building the portion pictured below of the Victory, what type of bricks did you need to get hordes of? I'm currently getting ready to build the same part of the Constitution. I'm trying to make it tan. I've already bought some tiles, plates, and modified plates with one stud on top on BL. Thanks!
  21. Is that my butt in the background?!? It was a great display Hinck and CopMike. I didn't get any pictures though, I was too busy talking to your mom.
  22. I was very happy to see this Ship in real life! I was very impressed by it, and the pictures don't do it justice! I love how the entire Helm and deck below is completely removable. This way if a gear or string falls out of alignment, it can very easily be put back into place. I hope to do something similar with my Constitution with the capstan and steering. I have been having troubles with keeping my fully operational capstan to run flawlessly, so i'll just make it completely removable so that it can easily be fixed if one gear or string doesn't wind up correctly. Also, I like how the paddle wheels were fully operational with the steam engine pistons. These pistons move the paddle wheels below. There was a lot of detail put into this ship, and it was awesome to get to meet Kurt in person at Brickworld. Keep up the great work Kurt!
  23. Yay! Maybe rock band 2 will now lower in price. I've only got Rock Band 1 with the big band kit when it was on clearance. I'm not a firm believer in getting the latest game and spending $60 for it. If there are a lot of good sings on it, i'll get it though.
  24. I will see if i can. There'll be a lot going on that month. That may mean i'll have to finish it. I'll do my best Sir!
  25. Beautiful, just beautiful. Now i've just got to save money to buy some of these at BW.
