  1. Excellent! I really look forward to purchasing some of these. Thank you Armothe for informing us!
  2. You probably would need more space. The two capstans are geared separately on Constitution. One capstan handles four anchor cables, each one could be geared individually or all at once. The other capstan handles two lifting cables for the masts, which can also be geared individually. There is about 5 bricks high, eight studs long, and 30 studs wide of gear craziness. Once the hull below the waterline is done I'll probably be working to make the engaging and disengaging of the gears more solid. It works real well. I just have to be real careful to not pull too hard when disengaging the gears, and make sure all gears are fully engaged or disengaged before turning the capstan. The vital gears that made it possible was the usage of this gear , and its friend . An axle can rotate independently inside the first gear.
  3. I agree that you should keep two capstans. Have you thought of have the upper and lower capstan to be geared separately? Each capstan could then handle two anchor cables. A thought on the bow: The top portion of the bow could be made "pointier" and would give the illusion that it's further back than it really is.
  4. I wish I were a MOD, then I could have a cool Sesame Street name and avatar right now. It would be fun to participate. I would prefer the Muppets though.
  5. I like the way this musket looks, and I am glad that it looks different from the BA variety. It would be nice to have three variety of muskets. The American armies of the revolutionary war rarely all had the same type of musket in the same unit, especially the militia untits.

    HMS Puffin

The improvements make this MOC look a lot better. Nice job Duke (who isn't my brother). I really enjoy the name and figure head of the ship. It's very creative.
  7. Teddy, I just have to say, I am very impressed with this MOC. I really like the police car. I have been making prototype after prototype trying to get a 4-seater cab to look right. I will be studying these pictures A LOT when I am able to attempt another version of the cab. Thank you for sharing.
  8. I look forward to these updates. Crazy? Insane?!? You're too kind! Prateek, I hope you can join us in crazy town or insane-city.
  9. This topic belongs in Website & Forums. A quick look reveals the following about rank: Since PMs stored is disabled for users with less than ten posts, then I would assume that your profile viewing and editing has also been disabled.
  10. Thanks for the feedback! After seeing the pictures and ideas others have posted, I think the cone will be the best and simplest piece to use instead. LordSandwich, welcome to Eurobricks. I recommend checking out the member guidelines and tutorials in Website & Forums. They're not weird questions at all. 1.)I plan on putting the same number of figures on Constitution as the amount of crew that was on the vessel during the war of 1812, which is about 450 figs. Since this ship is to scale, all of these figures should be able to fit on this MOC. I have about 200 figs to get yet. It's a slow process since I only get a few at the most with each BL order, but I'm getting there. 2.)Currently the ship is just under 6 feet (1.8 meters) long. When it's complete and all the rigging is on, it'll be about 7 feet (2.1 meters) long, the hull will be about 45 bricks across, yard arms about 2.5 feet (0.8 meters) wide, and masts about 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall.
  11. Here is my favorite crows nest design. It is of course designed by me. As I had explained a few years ago, I had used a instead of a for the support of the crows nest. This of course only works on the older mast design. A simple plate could probably be used for the newer masts, but I am not sure since I only use the older masts for any ship-type MOCs.
  12. The only thing I have to update is that I had recently gotten another BL order and I am now able to "copy" Blacky's wonderful looking anchor shown below. Of course a there were a lot of other bricks to continue progress of the hull, I have not had time to work on it lately. and here is my "copy". I am not too sure about the dark bley technic pin, but I REALLY wanted to use the modified plate shaped like a tooth. The final product will utilize a dark bley technic pin w/ stud, but I don't have any of those right now and figured this one looked close enough to see if they'd be worth purchasing.
  13. I would try searching the Mini-Fig Customization Workshop and see if there are any Resize Decals threads.
  14. Captain Becker, the bottom portion of the masts for these frigates come from the cores of four tall pine trees. The iron rings are what hold the four sections of mast together. The tree cores made these masts very tough. I do not believe any of the six original frigates ever lost more than a top mast. That is why these frigates were considered "Super-Frigates". Their actual dimensions for length and beam were close to the same dimensions as a 74-gun ship of the line. These Frigates typically also carried about 400 crew. If I remember correctly from my reading, I believe they would have enough crew to fire full-broadsides from both sides of the ship. I am glad to see that you are making the original design of the ship and its armament. I like the way your figurehead looks. IMO, I would use a brown or gray/blay for the hands and face though.
  15. Welcome Lego Otaku I would assume that you are in the lower peninsula with your mention of Detroit. I live right by Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. Have you ever made your way to South Haven Michigan? They have a remake of The Friend's Good Will which was originally a Great Lakes commerce vessel in the early 1800's. It's a little after the country was made though. Hope you enjoy your membership in EB.
  16. There are tutorials that explain how to create deeplinks and post images found here. I suggest looking through the Picture and Posting Tutorials.
  17. Is this vessel considered a gunboat perhaps? Gunboats came in all shapes and sizes. They were most often "rowboat" shaped though. They range in firepower from 0 to 3 cannons, have 0 to 2 masts, and were about 50 feet (15 meters) long. Those are awesome! I am going to have to buy some of those torso stickers from BL.
  18. Too small you two say huh? I would say this ship would fit right in with all the Entries from the Pimp your IMTP Ship Contest. efullner, are these custom uniforms these figures are wearing or are they official lego torsos. Thanks.
  19. I believe those rockets are Congreve Rockets. I have no idea if these rockets were shot from a ship. I've always wanted to make a Congreve Rocket British unit since I found out about them from Age of Empires III.
  20. I like google translate. I don't have time to read it right now though.
  21. Just a thought, but you could use both of your old and new red coats in MOCs. I would just keep them separate per regiment or MOC. Some MOCs could have the old style and other MOCs can have the new style. I think of the new red coats as a uniform upgrade, and not all uniforms will be able to be upgraded at the same time.
  22. I like the anchor. I have been trying to build an anchor with no success. But a design similar to this will work out very nicely. Thank you Blacky and Cap'n Gre err Blue Hair.
  23. Unless I have residual superpowers. You need to click on edit on your first post of this topic then click on full edit. Finally, type in whatever you'd like and save the changes. Hope that helps.
  24. All you've really go to do is change some of the figs and it's a pirate town. I don't think much modding is required.
  25. One of my interests is to live too, but I forgot to mention it in my interests. :-D
