Excellent overview Brickster! I for one, am happy that the kraken was not a large brick-built beast. Those drove me nuts with the viking sets. It's actually a realistic size for a large octopus too. My only request for the next line of pirates right now is to have brown (or rown ) carriages for the cannons.

Great work Z! I'd really like to see this ship side-by-side with my ship. (maybe at a lego convention or something ) This ship is very impressive. I'm very happy to see that this ship will be completed! I got worried for a little while when you were away. Hope it's ok that i put thumbs in your last post. Wanted to give ppl a preview to what they're clicking into.

When you disappeared, you ran and anyone else that's missing ran away from the scary fabuland bear. It's really hard to keep track of every fig when you're taking the pics at home, then going to another location to edit the pics and put in call-outs. I'll do better next time Mr. Norrington. I'm still new at making comics. I give much credit to Mr. Hinckley in the creation of his comics. They're very well made and organized. Maybe i should give your fig a rank in one of my creations. Would that make you happy?

The school's computer labs were closed all weekend. Anywayz: Accessibility: The Capstans: The two "knobs" on the bottom corner engage and disengage the gears for two lifting cables on the fore and main masts, which is moved by the bottom capstan. Showing the accessibility of the area around the capstans: The 4 "knobs" on the other bottom corner engage and disengage the gears for each of the 4 anchor cables. The all can be moved at the same time or each one individually or whatever combination is desired. All of the "knobs" are pulled out right now (they're disengaged), but when they're all pushed in, they're right up against the hull. Enjoy!

My wife has a lot of those stars; They're click-its. They do fit perfectly onto lego bricks, but unfortunately they're too big for my purposes. But many thanx Cpt. Pegleg Blockbeard. Fine. Ok. I'm almost complete with the front 2/3 modular section of the ship. Overview: of the whole section. Here are the close ups showing what this whole section currently looks like. There are more pics, but i don't have time to post them right now. I'll post them at a later time.

That's beautiful Hinckley I really like it. I was hoping to do something like this for when i get the theater, but it definitely wasn't going to be that elaborate or cool looking.

The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus #7

Great work (again!) Hinckley! I hope we get to figure out what's wrong with your clone soon. -
I think you're talking about this brick that has 3mm rigid hose going through each axle hole: I've only got that brick in light bley, but the piece was perfect. I'll be orderinged those in black very soon.

No there aren't anymore pics. There was only time to take one pic since i had to get to school. I'm using a barely working camera with no computer or internet at home, so there's a lot of time between taking pics. I don't have any more pics to show the fully functional capstans and there are multiple small portions that are close to complete, but the BL orders haven't come in or been made. Phredit: Hmm, engraving might work. Although i'd need something to engrave them with. I've already started on moding clone bricks to put stars on. It turned out ok, i think i'll glue all of the clone bricks together for strength. Still thinking about that though.

The cutter is a ship?!? I thought this was a ship (with a cutter on it)

Thanx Guys! I wanted to use my Black Motorcycle, but one of the handlebars is broken.
-
65d Well i got something done. Since it's a staff entry, i did what i wanted to. I've made a cutter to go on my USS Constitution. The stern portion was inspired by Captain Green Hair's and Errorist's long boat. The mast was inspired by Captain Cavino's small sail boat. and used the bow design from my gun boat.

Which is mightier - Black Seas Barracuda OR Brickbeard's Bounty?
Capn Frank replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in LEGO Pirates
IS summed it up here in the What sets came with these pieces? thread. Basically the first BSB's released in the US had shooting cannons and 1-3 years later they only came with disabled cannons. If i remember correctly, europe's BSB's always came with shooting cannons. -
Boy, you've got that right! Right here! The pirates who don't do anything! (i'd skip the first 52 seconds though ) It where "Boston in the Fall" comes from. About extra parts, I was real happy that the sword duel Indy set came with an extra cutlass and bley knife

Ha Ha! Tied again! I voted ships. It is the key thing that makes me interested in the pirate theme in the first place. Also, the contitution i'm currently building is much bigger than any pirate fort i've made in the past. I'll be hard pressed to make a dock big enough to manage that ship. Clipper ships were the first sailing ships i liked, then master and commander came out and i've been reading about ships all over the world ever since.

BSB all the way! This was the first pirate ship TLG made and it's still the best. If you consider the types of bricks and colors available at the time, the BSB is still better designed than the BB. I definitely like the BB much better than the Cross-Bone Clipper or Red Beard Runner. The reason there are different types of figs in the first place was because of the original pirate series (which include the BSB) which had all new torsos and faces from the traditional smiley. -
I am a cucumber. Hmm, i like the idea of gold for the highest ranking officers like the captain and his lieutenants of the constitution. Then all the sergeants can have the yellow epaulets. (i should have enough ) Thanks guys.
-
Excellent! Looking forward to being broke! Are any of them yellow epaulets? Those are the only ones i need at the moment.
-
No pirates here! Not at wal-mart anyways. That's the closest place for me to check and i'm not going to drive all over the country in search of $20 of lego that i can afford to buy right now. Hinckley lied to me. My life is over! I have no reason to live!... ... oh wait, i still do. I'll just strike out that last bit.

I wonder when the dorks will gather and fight back against the tyranny of Copmike, and his friends. Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. -
I would really like to see a very large imperial ship for their next line up.

Nice review Brickster It's very nicely done. The set itself isn't too impressive. They've made better rafts in other sets, this raft design i think is the poorest. The only thing that makes this set good (or average) are the number of figs it comes with for the cost.

I like eurobricks because i get free parking at Wal-Mart as a member. I also like getting to know ppl across the world. It's the first place where i've made friends online.
