  1. A museum would be great, especially if the exhibits had throwbacks to classic Lego themes. Something like a miniature Black Seas Barracuda replica from Pirates, Crusaders vs. Black Falcons from Castle, Johnny Thunder's Egypt expedition from Adventurers etc. Things that celebrates Lego's own history.
  2. Glad to finally have Malcolm, but disappointed he's coming in a minifigure pack and not another classic JP set. Would be nice to see more sets released from the original films. Don't really care for another Owen or Claire. I have so many figures of them already across sets from the last two movies combined that I would've preferred someone new like Sarah, Hammond, Nedry, Ray Arnold, Muldoon, Roland, Nick, Kelly etc.
  3. Hopefully the negative reaction to Cloud City following Hoth won't have a negative impact on future D2C location based playsets. I'm already anticipating the next one and can't what to see what they come up with next - hopefully as soon as next year.
  4. The more pilots they can push out the better. That's one of the benefits of having both the Microfighters and the Juniors line. We don't have to wait for the next system scale update of Rebel ships to get certain characters.
  5. I think in the case of that particular Padme, I'd be happy enough with the high bun hairpiece with or without gold printing. We've never had a Senator version before and that version in the picture would be easy to pull off with existing parts and an appropriate set inclusion with the Bounty Hunter chase. Another one that would be easy to release would be the Celebration Queen Amidala at the end of TPM. Again similar printing to Bespin Leia using the skirt piece, reuse the Hoth/Endor hairpiece and give her a plastic collar like the one on the Ninjago figure below. Would be a great promotional figure like the other Celebration SW heroes - perfect actually for next year's 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace. But I agree it would be nice to get some special molds some of her fancier costumes though. Any of the Queen Amidala ones from TPM would be great. The red senate costume on Coruscant in particular would look fantastic and the black feathered headdress gown would be essential if there was ever a Royal Starship set. I still want to see the rest of her action-ish costumes released though. Theed Battle would be another perfect figure for next year's 20th anniversary of TPM, an unripped Geonosis figure with cape in either a Droid Factory or UCS Arena, and the Mustafar costume representing a ROTS version of her character.
  6. Problem is without an accurate torso print or hairpiece, a MOC version of Bespin Escape would be no better than the Hoth figure that's substituting it. If anything it would be a lot worse and unsatisfying. The costume might seem a bit plain in the movie, but it's still the last version of Leia in the OT yet to be made in Lego form. When you consider that the minor costume differences between the X-Wing and Snowspeeder flight suits, Boba's ESB and ROTJ armor and even the four different variations of Luke's ROTJ costume - it's a shame they missed the boat here and took the easy way out with the Hoth costume. It's not impossible for that to change in the future though. She could always show up in a future Slave I release and Depa Billaba could pave way for an accurate hairpiece since both characters share the exact same hairstyle, but obviously it's not going to happen anytime soon and was a missed opportunity not to cover it here.
  7. It looks perfect to me. Exactly what I would've hoped for with a Cloud City playset done in the style of the Death Star. More-so actually as I wasn't expecting to see every single room from the movie included in some form. Honestly the only disappointments I have are the lack of the molds (Bespin braids, Lobot headgear, Carbonite block) and getting Hoth Leia instead of a proper Bespin Escape version. But aside from those few nitpicks this set is a home run for me.
  8. I don't understand the complaints either. I mean we all knew it was going to be a playset and after what we got in both the previous Cloud City and the Death Star, what exactly were you expecting?
  9. After seeing how well the new Bespin Leia turned out, I hope we see some more similarly designed minifigures in the future. All three of General Leia's remaining costumes would look great in this style (can we get one from the Last Jedi already?) and Senator Padme would also be perfect if there was ever a Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake.
  10. Just realized next year is the 20th Anniversary of The Phantom Menace (its been that long already?). Hopefully we'll see a couple of new sets to celebrate it. I'd definitely be up for some new podracers and another (larger) attempt at the AAT. Can we please also finally get Boss Nass, Shmi Skywalker and Theed Battle Padme already? Rune Haako and TPM C-3PO would be welcome too.
  11. This looks amazing! I was only expecting to see the main rooms but they've captured every nook and cranny from the films! The mini cityscape at the top is a nice touch and I'm glad there's a fully circular carbon chamber this time. The mini Slave I looks better than I was expecting and while the Cloud Car would've have been better in orange, I'm glad we finally have a new one after all these years. The cockpit does look very cramped though. The minifigures are fantastic too! Luke looks awesome and I love the scene specific face print he has. The dual molded legs on Han are unexpected but definitely welcome. Bespin Gown Leia is absolutely stunning with a fantastic use of the new skirt element. Lando looks great and the pattern print on the inside of his cape are a nice little detail. I have very little complaints about this set. The lack of new molds is a tad disappointing. The Carbonite mold could've used an update. Its also a shame to see Hoth Leia reused instead of a proper Bespin Escape version.
  12. Interesting selection of minifigures if true. Porkins is a welcome addition and it will be great to finally have Zuckuss. I'm keen to know which versions of the Clone Wars characters we'll be getting. I don't have much of a preference between Ahsoka's Season 1 and 3 costumes, but would like to see Cody in the Phase II armor this time. I would prefer a Phase I Clone Gunner though since they actually appeared in the show, unlike the Phase II version that came in the Republic Tank last year. Its definitely a smart decision to also base the Juniors sets on the Resistance show. The cartoon is clearly targeted for a younger audience so it makes sense the sets would be too. I'll be disappointed if that's the case. Its bad enough with Padme being unrepresented in the prequel sets, especially during the release of the films. I'd hate to see General Leia get the same treatment. She's too important a character to leave out, the new skirt piece should make both her Crait and Raddus costumes easy to pull off and there's enough material for potential sets to include her in. I'm still staying optimistic about the Resistance Shuttle though. Last I heard SVL claimed it and the V19 were still coming, we don't know what the "Great Vehicle" is based on and there's still two more set numbers unaccounted for.
  13. It could be anything. "Great Vehicle" (or "Great Playset") is the generic term Lego uses for Star Wars sets at that price range. Apparently the constraction figures are done. We were supposed to have gotten 2 more this year (Super Battle Droid and AT-RT Clone Trooper) but both ended up being cancelled. Junior sets usually have standard minifigures for all the other lines so I can't imagine it would be any different for Star Wars. There's definitely potential for some interesting new figures. We've already got a Juniors X-Wing confirmed. If the other mystery Juniors set is either a Y-Wing or Snowspeeder, and all three ships are also among the six classic Microfighter vehicles then we can probably expect to see quite a number of Rebel pilots updated with the new helmets. With any luck the A-Wing Pilot will also be new. The last two OT A-Wings came with Sila Kott and Jake Farrell but we haven't gotten a Green Leader minifigure yet. The Juniors A-Wing would be a good chance to change that.
  14. I've been wanting a new Slave I for a while. Its been almost a decade since the last system scale version and it would be nice to get one that is both better proportioned like the UCS version and fixes the issue of the wings hanging too low whilst in flight mode. It also makes sense to release one now from a budgeting standpoint. Cloud City will no doubt require new molds (Han's Carbonite block, Leia's Bespin hairstyle, possibly even a headpiece for Lobot) so offloading some of the costs to a companion set would be a smart move (as well as ensure both Han and Leia's alternate costumes get a release) The one thing I hope is that the set doesn't get downscaled too much. The previous Slave I was a good size and I'll be disappointed if it ends up getting the AAT/MTT/Turbo Tank treatment.
  15. Glad to see the Praetorian Guard battlepack is happening. Of all the fake rumours that one always felt the most plausible to me as its the only way Lego could realistically release the other two guard variants. Looking forward to seeing what clones will be coming in the battlepack as well. 501st would be great but I'd rather they were generic (or Rex + 3 Generic) rather than four named clones like the initial rumours suggested. Shame the "Great Vehicle Escape" has no name, but its worth noting that 3 set numbers are absent between that and the Droid Gunship so I'm guessing we'll be seeing four sets at that price range like we usually do every year. Hopefully one of those will be the rumoured Resistance Transport set. Would be nice to finally get a Last Jedi version of Leia before Episode 9 hits later in the year. Seems a bit soon for another Droid Gunship and AT-AP since Kashyyyk was covered quite extensively just a couple years ago. The only draws I can see to revisiting them again would be re-releasing Luminara Unduli with the new skirt piece to match Barriss, or basing the sets on TCW rather than ROTS which would be a good way to update some of the other characters from the show (Ahsoka, Ventress, Aurra Sing etc) The Juniors and "Classic" Microfighters sound interesting. I have no interest in the builds themselves, but I'm keen to see if we can expect any new pilots with the updated dual molded Rebel Helmet. Gold Leader in particular would be great as we won't have to wait for another system-scale Y-Wing remake. Disappointed there isn't any sign of the V-19, unless that's going to be a retailer exclusive next year?
  16. The Geonosian Arena is tied with Yavin IV as the UCS playset I want to see next so hopefully one of the two will happen next year. Mustafar and the Lars Homestead would be welcome too.
  17. Shame this topic has died out since it has been such a great resource for local sales in the past. A few updates for anyone interested: - UCS Y-Wing has shown up exclusive to Big W - Hoth Medical Chamber is exclusive to Target (selling out like hotcakes though) - Harry Potter sets now at Target, David Jones and Myer. Most of the sets are reasonably stocked except for the Great Hall which again is selling fast. - New Batman sets are starting to show up at most stores. The Aquaman one I've only seen at David Jones so far. Not sure if its exclusive there or not.
  18. I'm not too interested in any EU-ish figures to be honest even if they are canon. There's still so many notable on-screen characters that haven't been done yet. From the OT, from the prequels, Rogue One, Solo, Clone Wars, Rebels, even the sequels. I prefer to see most of those get covered first.
  19. Can't say there was much about the teaser that jumped out at me to be honest. The tone of the show definitely feels more in line with the Yoda Chronicles/Freemaker Adventures than it does with TCW/Rebels. I expect next year's lineup will probably reflect that with only 1-2 Resistance sets rather than a large wave. I'm definitely much more excited for what else next year has to offer. Episode 9, the return of the Clone Wars and the usual OT/PT/TFA/TLJ/Solo/Rogue One sets should shape it up to be a very busy year.
  20. Really? I'm honestly surprised by that as The Hobbit was a big part of the reason why the line came to a premature end. The first wave of LOTR sets sold relatively well but the Hobbit sets were clogging up the shelves to the point where major retailers like Target had to discount them at 50% off just to get rid of them - something which never happens here in Australia. The third wave of Hobbit sets also had a VERY limited run here because most retailers weren't willing to carry them. Only a few select ones like Toyworld and Myer got a single shipment of sets and that was it. The second wave of LOTR sets didn't help the line either with questionable set choices and fan favorite characters being sidelined in favor of less desirable ones.
  21. Another ship on the same scale as the Imperial Flagship would be nice, only pirate themed instead of soldiers this time. I do feel if the Pirate theme returns again it should do something different and fresh this time. The first modern revival was a nice comeback but the second attempt was far too similar to my liking. The Castle line that followed Kingdoms was the same.
  22. The Hoth Medical Chamber is exclusive to Target in Australia. Its already out on shelves. Haven't spotted the Landing Craft anywhere yet.
  23. Aren't most City police stations around the $99 mark? It wouldn't surprise me if the GCPD is designed similar to those sets only with the modern blue/black/white color pallet swapped out for a more Gotham City appearance. Glad its finally coming though. Been wanting a GCPD for a while. Hopefully the Bat signal comes with a light-up brick.
  24. Even in ANH his hair was never that light. Compared to the movie dark tan still looks much more accurate over light tan.
  25. We'll probably still have to wait a few years for them to be introduced into the MCU, but I'm hoping Marvel will still start pushing them early in other media and we'll see some comic/animated themed sets as soon as next year. There's just so much of the X-Men universe to work with that would put the Lego Batman line to shame. For me the things that are essential for future X-Men sets are: - 90's Animated Series lineup in Jim Lee costumes (Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, Rogue, Gambit, Beast, Jubilee plus Xavier in the yellow hover chair) - Other mainstream X-Men members not regulars on the cartoon (Iceman, Angel, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Emma Frost and Psylocke) - A List X-Men villains (Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Apocalypse, Mr. Sinister and Dark Phoenix) - Bishop and Cable - Important character variants like (green) Phoenix Jean, Archangel, Weapon X Wolverine etc. - New Sentinel either in the scale of Lex Luthor/Venom mechs or designed like the Ant-Man/Ares buildable figures - X-Mansion with Danger Room - Larger Blackbird/X-Jet Even once those are all covered there's still: - Less mainstream X-Men members (Forge, Banshee, Havok, Polaris etc) - Brotherhood henchmen (Pyro, Avalanche, Blob, Toad etc) - B/C/D List Villains (Lady Deathstrike, Silver Samurai, Sauron, Nimrod, Omega Red, Shadow King, Mojo, Brood) - "Civilian" characters like Moira MacTaggert, Senator Kelly, Bolivar Trask, Henry Gyrich etc. - Other factions such as the Hellfire Club, Morlocks, Starjammers, Shi'ar Empire, Marauders etc. - Comic variants of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch - First Class, Modern and MCU costume variants - Sets based on the greater X-Men universe (Genosha, Muir Island, Asteroid M, Morlock Tunnels, Shi'ar spaceships, Savage Land, Mastermold, Future Timelines)
