  1. Glad to see the rumour about Vader's Castle is true. Don't care much for the Pilot figure but Bacta Tank Vader looks awesome. Shame the Royal Guards are going to be the same as the Death Star versions. Would've been a good opportunity to ditch the capes and give them the skirt piece instead so they're more in line with the Praetorian Guards. Looking forward to seeing how the set itself looks. For the price range I'm expecting it will be something similar in scale to the Avengers Tower set with an Orthanc inspired makeover.
  2. As nice as some of these variants look, its hard to get excited by the number of unnecessary repeats when characters like Black Cat, Kingpin, Lizard and classic versions of Shocker, Rhino and Electro still haven't seen the light of day yet. Even on the civilian front a regular Gwen Stacy or updated Peter/Norman/Harry would've been preferable over another Aunt May in a slightly different cardigan.
  3. Glad the line is returning even if it is only three sets. There was talk in the 2018 topic of one of the sets being a D2C based on the original film which would be a dream come true for me. Also hoping there will be something from The Lost World as its the only JP movie to never have gotten any sets.
  4. I quite like that new Batgirl variant from the video game and hope its among the new figures in the Winter wave. The purple costume suits her a lot better than the black one on the original figure does. Plus the orange hair also helps distinguish her apart from Batwoman using the standard red.
  5. Luke still has a few more costumes left to go though. We still haven't seen variants for Medical Frigate, Jedi Exile or Crait yet. Leia also has her D'Qar, Raddus and Crait gowns in addition to Bespin Escape. Plus whatever is still to come in Episode IX. And while Han is pretty much done for the OT, he still has the Starkiller Base costume from The Force Awakens and Numidian Prime (jacketless version of main) at the end of Solo still to go.
  6. Sounds like a huge year ahead if the rumors are true. Really hope the system scale Slave I pans out. Its been almost a decade since the last one and they have the potential to really improve on it with the techniques used on the UCS set. Don't have much preference between Boba or Jango's version - both need an update at some point and either version could come with some interesting side characters (Taun We, Lama Su, Zuckuss, Bespin Escape Leia) Anakin's Podracer is another to look forward to if true. 2019 is not only the 20th anniversary of Lego Star Wars but also The Phantom Menace so I'm hoping we'll see a few Episode I sets to celebrate the occassion. Not to mention the podracer is a good opportunity to finally release Shmi and TPM C-3PO as minifigures. Another Snowspeeder after so many isn't terribly exciting but I'd be interested in seeing how they redesign it to accommodate the new rebel helmets. More pilots using the new helmet mold are always welcome. The Juniors Death Star playset has caught my interest if only for Classic Leia being released in a cheap set and potentially using the new skirt piece. The Dewback microfighter sounds like a questionable choice. Wouldn't the Imperial Landing Craft been a better option to complement the Droid Escape Pod? Still its another way to get more Sandtroopers. Not really interested in an Inferno Squad battlepack. Just never cared much for the characters in the game. Rey vs Kylo would be an easy pass as I already have the figures and can't imagine a set based on the Starkiller Base duel alone being that great.
  7. Finch only appeared in The Last Jedi during the bombing run in the film's opening. I can't really see him coming in anything other than a Resistance Bomber micro fighter to be honest.
  8. Finch looks pretty cool. Nice to see we're getting another named pilot. The Bricklink entry for the existing Resistance Bomber Pilot may need to be corrected though as he's clearly not Finch.
  9. Glad to see others also want to see more of the podrace. I too am disappointed by the lack of TPM and AOTC C-3PO minifigures. A UCS/MBS Cantina would be great but the only downside to that is that those sets don't usually get new molds. Ponda Baba and Garindan are going to need them, and I'd say at this stage they and Dr. Evazan are the three most important Mos Eisley characters that haven't been covered yet. They could get creative using existing parts with some of the other Cantina backgrounders though. A flesh colored CMF surgical cap would be an easy way to pull off Brainiac and the Werewolf headpiece could be reused for the Wolfman.
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing Jabba's Palace/Sail Barge revisited again. There's a couple figures I think could use the updates: - Arm printing for ROTJ Boba Fett featuring his red gauntlets - Leg printing for Lando's Skiff Guard outfit - Bib Fortuna using the new skirt piece - Malakili using the Pao/Rebolt headgear Would love to see these new characters too: - Yak Face - Tessek - Sy Snootles and Droopy McCool (to complete the original Max Rebo Band) - Lyn Me (white Twi'lek) - Klaatu - Nikto Guard (a Clone Wars version was released, but would be nice to get a non-anime version) Also since Malakili got a minifigure, does this mean Yarna has a chance?
  11. I actually wouldn't mind seeing future podracers scaled down to a much smaller size. Not necessarily microfighters but something similar to the Cloud City Slave I model. The smaller scale means they could potentially pull off up to five different racers at the usual Summer wave flagship price range, or even as solo releases as part of the "Great Vehicles" range. Plus it would be good to see other podracers like Gasgano, Mawhonic, Teemto and Ben Quadinaros released rather than just Anakin and Sebulba all the time.
  12. I was thinking more along the lines of manning the cannon or even the force pike action hero depiction other toy lines and high end collectables often go with.
  13. Again don't be so quick to believe clickbait articles. Her appearance in Lego's Force Awakens game and exclusive Funko Pop release that came after the Disney buyout prove they haven't completely pulled the plug on her. One thing they did change in the game was the moniker for her costume which is now "Jabba's Palace" rather than "Slave". I imagine any future Sail Barge sets will probably reflect that by marketing her as a hero rather than depicting her as a chained slave. As previously mentioned if they can release the Duel on Naboo with Qui-Gon sporting his stabbed face and a Darth Maul that can be split in two, there's no reason why they couldn't release this one.
  14. The Fellowship characters are always going to be an obvious inclusion. I think that goes without saying. But they weren't the only characters present when the line debuted. We also saw Theoden, Eomer, Elrond, Haldir and Lurtz in the first year, as well as two sets focusing heavily on Rohan. There's no reason why a LOTR revival couldn't substitute those for a Gondor focus and still provide the core characters for newcomer buyers like the original wave did. Besides with Gandalf and Pippin at Minas Tirith, Aragorn/Legolas/Gimli in the Battle of Pelennor and Merry taking part in the Witch-King battle - you already have 6/9 of the Fellowship covered.
  15. I don't mind Boba having a rotating cockpit, but I hated how disproportionate that feature made the wings look while in flight mode. They were hanging far too low and it looked horrible! Thankfully both the UCS set and Cloud City's mini build have corrected the wing orientation in flight mode so hopefully future system scale releases will reflect that.
  16. With the same old top hat piece? Seems like a waste not taking advantage of the new molds introduced in the Lego Batman Movie.
  17. I'm surprised by that too. The duel seems like such an obvious set to make. In addition to a Senate Duel variant of Sidious, it would also be the perfect set to include Bail Organa and Mas Amedda. All three of these figures are long overdue. I also thought it was a missed opportunity with the Freemaker Adventure sets by not releasing a new Sidious variant. If not the Senate Duel version, they could've also gone with the red Declaration of the Empire version. Either one would've been better than a repeat of the classic costume that was already available in numerous sets. I wouldn't mind another release of the Office Duel variant in a remake of the Palpatine's Arrest set. I think the figure could be much improved with leg printing and the Grand Moff Tarkin hairpiece, plus it would also be a good way to re-release Saesee Tiin, Agen Kolar and Kit Fisto. One thing I would want to see changed however is the inclusion of two separate heads for Darth Sidious and Chancellor Palpatine, rather than them sharing a single one like last time. It would make the figure much more versatile that way. One last variant I think would be cool would be a Senator version if the Republic Cruiser from The Phantom Menace was ever remake. They could also include Chancellor Valorum in there too.
  18. I'd love to finally get the Lars Homestead. I think it could work well enough as a retail set with the characters mentioned. If it were a D2C playset along the lines of Ewok Village and Assault on Hoth however, I would probably prefer a bigger lineup that includes the prequel cast alongside the classic characters. Same here. Even then I wouldn't mind a scaled down and more durable build than the last two versions. The ARC-170 has never really been a favorite of mine because it's been so flimsy and takes up too much display space.
  19. I'd love to see the LOTR line return either as a full wave of sets or a one-off D2C release like Pirates of the Caribbean did with the Silent Mary. Regardless what form it takes however, it needs to learn from the mistakes that were made with the second wave and the Hobbit that caused the line to meet a premature end. There should also be a focus on the things that were missed last time. Gondor should be represented over any other faction while Eowyn, Faramir and the Witch-King need to be among the first characters pushed out. There would be no excuse for shafting them again.
  20. Not necessarily. Disney have cut back on marketing Slave Leia, but her inclusion in Lego's Force Awakens game and the exclusive Funko Pop release prove that she's not completely banned like clickbait articles have claimed.
  21. Honestly I can live without the chrome parts. They've never bothered with them on any of the non-UCS Naboo Fighters so why should the Royal Starship be any different? Even in light grey (or pearl silver) the ship still has a beautiful sleek design and is the closest the Prequel Trilogy ever came to having a hero ship fill the hole left by the Millennium Falcon. Seems like a waste not to attempt it on the chrome reason alone.
  22. Fans have been begging for a Cloud City remake for years, but not once have I ever seen anyone ask for a micro-scale replica. The endless posts in the wishlist thread have always been motivated by two things - updated versions of the Bespin minifigures (Luke, Leia, Lando etc) or a playset done in a similar style to the Death Star. So when you ask what they were thinking with this set - pretty much what the "fans" were asking for the last decade.
  23. Zam Wesell is really the only notable one of the three that needs the update. Luke's already been modernized in flesh tone. He really just needs a poncho to go over his ROTJ minifigure and Leia/Qui-Gon's is a decent enough stand in until an official one is released. There's a few characters that still haven't gotten the pupil eye treatment yet - Mon Mothma, Crix Madine, Captain Antilles, Maoi Madakor and Antidar Williams (aka Republic Captain/Pilot) There's also a few Clone Wars characters that haven't had their movie counterparts released yet either - Aurra Sing, Shaak Ti, Eeth Koth, Even Piell, 501st Clone Trooper, Commander Cody, AOTC Nute Gunray and Shock Trooper using the new Phase II helmet.
  24. That shouldn't have an impact on it. The easiest solution is to not market the massacre scene by excluding the younglings and/or clones from the set. There's still plenty of moments to depict across the three prequel films and Clone Wars series as well as plenty of characters. And the Jedi Temple is pretty much tied with Yavin IV and the Geonosian Arena as the most wanted locations for a UCS/MBS set now that Cloud City, Death Star and Ewok Village are out the way. I agree that Starkiller Base is pretty unlikely to happen though.
  25. The blue jacket costume of Han in Cloud City and the UCS Falcon is commonly referred to as Bespin Han. Lego kind of messed up there with the set's description. Hoth Han is meant to be the parka version that came in the Hoth sets. Only in Star Wars fandom do we nitpick each costume having the correct moniker.
