  1. Wedge over Biggs would be disappointing since its been almost 20 years since he last appeared in a set, not to mention he's the only character left besides Zam Wesell that hasn't been upgraded to flesh tone yet. Still I'll be okay with another Wedge if he gets a unique face print this time instead of the generic pilot face. Having one side with the visor printed and the other side without would be nice. Glad to hear the V-19 and Resistance Shuttle sets are actually happening and not just fake rumours.
  2. Don't forget the head for Bigg's astromech from the new X-Wing has already leaked - and the design is clearly different from both the upcoming Chrome R2-D2 and the R2-Q2 figure that came with the V-Wing back in 2011. Plus there's also the green suit Boba Fett figure with the dual molded arm which we still don't know which set it will appear in. It could easily be from a Summer wave Solo set that's yet to be revealed. I'm not sure how those things are so hard to believe. Characters get different scene-specific faces all the time. Han and Leia in the UCS Falcon, Han again in the Carbon Chamber/Desert Skiff, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in the Gungan Sub, Qui-Gon again in the Naboo Duel, Luke in Assault on Hoth and the upcoming Dagobah set... What makes Kylo Ren any different? Regarding the Praetoreans - the list only mentions the first guard having a brand new helmet mold which would likely be the same T-shaped one seen on the buildable figure that's been released. The second guard is said to have a DIFFERENT one. Doesn't mean the second helmet will be a new piece too. Being realistic - I fully expect Lego to reuse the existing Boba Fett/Mandalorian piece for the second variant. They'd be stupid not to since the shape is practically identical.
  3. Interesting list if true. Its definitely shaping up to be a great year for Lego. The biggest surprise for me is the V-19 Torrent. While we already knew Lego was revisiting the Clone Wars this year, I wasn't expecting there to be this much focus on it. It will be great to finally have a Phase II Commander Cody as well as yet another Jedi being updated in Plo Koon with a brand new (hopefully less squished) head mold. If Lego keeps going with the number of revised Jedi we've been getting lately we'll have the whole Council in no time! Movie versions of CW Obi-Wan and Captain Rex are also welcome additions. It makes me hopeful we'll see more characters from the show updated without anime faces in the coming years. There's not much to say about the Throne Room other than it sounds exactly what I'd hoped for in the Future Sets wishlist thread. Hopefully the Praetorean's weapons won't be too bulky or oversized. Only one is said to have a new helmet mold so I assume the other will just use the existing Mandalorean helmet. The Resistance Transport sounds like a must buy. The ship reminded me a lot of a miniaturized Rebel Transport from ESB. The minifigure lineup sounds awesome. Nien Numb is a long overdue figure while Kaydel helps expand the growing Resistance roster. All-gold C-3PO is a welcome addition not only as a Last Jedi figure but also a Revenge of the Sith one. Will be great to finally have Leia from TLJ as well. The mention of a Dr. Strange cape sounds like the figure will be based on her Crait costume from the final act of the movie. Don't mind a new face design as long as its consistent with the existing Leia figures. I'm curious to see how they pull off the hairpiece. Dark blonde was accurate for the Force Awakens, but dark brown with grey highlights like Dr. Strange/Ra's Al Ghul would be more appropriate for the Last Jedi. If these rumours are true - there should also still be one more set left to be revealed.
  4. The one thing that might look a bit off about the new helmet on the classic Stormtroopers is the forehead area. If you look at the out-of-box TIE Fighter pic the front part is slightly raised as if its covered in an outer shell and there are two dents sticking out. It could end up being a similar situation to the early 2000s when the TIE Pilots used Stormtrooper helmets and the Kashyyyk Troopers used Scout Trooper ones where they look "similar enough" but not really accurate to the real thing. It may be better just sticking with the current mold in that case.
  5. More set pics are up. Probably the biggest thing I noticed - the Stormtrooper and AT-ST Driver/General Veers helmets now have new molds! The AT-ST one looks like a huge improvement with molded goggles this time instead of the printed ones from the Rogue One figure. The new Stormtrooper helmet I'm a bit undecided on. I like the new 3D details that bring out a bit more depth than the original mold, but the shape of the chin area does look a little more bulky compared to the original helmet which captured the Stormtrooper look a little bit more. Another thing of note is the Stormtrooper now has dual torso/leg printing for the belt. I've always felt the black hip piece on the classic Stormtroopers has looked dated ever since leg printing has become common practice and this is a change I hope becomes implemented on them in the near future - possibly as soon as the rumoured Cloud City set. Shame it couldn't happen sooner with the Sandtrooper thats just been released in the Cantina. The TIE Fighter itself looks great and an improvement over the 2012 set but again I'm not fond of the blockiness compared to the other recent TIEs. The First Order, Inquisitor, Darth Vader and TIE Striker sets just seemed to capture the sleekness and roundess better with the use of the hinged roof piece and smooth angled corner bricks on the cockpit. Whoever guessed Quay Tolsite was a Pyke - you were right on the mark! Great to finally have one after not showing up in any of the Clone Wars sets. The new mold for Chewbacca is surprising although I have to admit I'm not really seeing the likeness on this one. Its definitely the ugliest version of Chewie yet. Lando is sporting a new face print from the ROTJ one and what I assume is one of the new Black Panther hairpieces. The two droids look interesting and I like Han and Qi'Ra's alternate looks. Han's face print is great too - different enough to reflect the younger version of him (and different actor) but still consistent with the older Harrison Ford design. The build of the Falcon looks pretty similar to the Force Awakens one aside from the singular front section, although I can spot a new yellow seating arrangement through the gaps of the roof where the chess table used to be. Can't wait to get a better look at the interior.
  6. New finalized set pics are starting to show up on Rebelscum. The Imperial Officer in the Imperial battlepack definitely has a new rank insignia as well as a new face. Makes me wonder if he's going to be a named character in the movie. The Death Star Trooper is indeed a female. Yoda's Hut looks fantastic! I love the way they designed the door and the little play features for Luke's training are a nice touch. Looks like the hut has some nice interior detail. Glad we finally have Luke's ANH/ESB hairpiece in dark tan. The facial expression is new yet consistant with the design they've used since the Final Duel set and I can definitely see that leg print being reused for a Bespin version in Cloud City. Great to see Yoda's torso print is accurate to his OT appearance rather than just reusing the PT version. Dirty R2 is a much welcome variant. Honestly this set couldn't be better. Barriss looks awesome up close. I like that they've kept her face print consistent with Luminara's by giving her the colored eyes. Her torso looks identical to the Clone Wars version aside from the belt tip replacing the pouch. I like that the dress piece has a natural curve at the back rather than the sharp slope we've been used to for so long. Some may not like that it doesn't have any printing but I don't mind too much. The build for the battlepack looks a lot like a Republic Gunship microfighter. And again - new Ki-Adi-Mundi is perfect!
  7. ^ Don't forget Mother Talzin, Bo-Katan and Duchess Satine. Those are the biggest ones for me next to Phase II Cody and Bail given how prominent their characters were on the show. A generic Nightsister using this hood piece would be pretty awesome too.
  8. Looks like a pretty solid wave. I like that the Imperial Battlepack comes with a vehicle featured in the film. The Range Troopers have a very Legends/Expanded Universe vibe to their design and the new Death Star Trooper's armored look is very reminiscent of Agent Kallus. Both Landspeeders look pretty cool. Of the two I like Han's more but can see myself picking both up. Seeing these really makes me wish Lego would hurry up and remake the Bounty Hunter Pursuit set from AOTC. Always great to have newly molded Star Wars creatures with the Corellian Hounds. Wasn't expecting a new Imperial TIE Fighter but its about time it got an update! Overall it looks great - but if I have one criticism the top of the cockpit does look a bit too blocky for my liking. I was kind of hoping it would use the hinged roof piece featured on all the other TIE Fighters since the First Order one in 2015, but instead it looks more like the old school models from the early 2000s. Should be an easy fix though. The Millennium Falcon also looks completely different to what I was expecting but I like it. Lando's costume looks very retro and new Protocol Droids are always welcome. I wonder if we're getting two new hairpieces for Qi'Ra? The one in the Landspeeder set is short like Emilia's was while filming, while the Falcon costume that appears on the boxart has long hair tied back. Regarding the aliens - Moloch from the Landspeeder is the Melitto/Sarco Plank looking one. Quay Tolsite from the Millennium Falcon is the one thats potentially a Pyke. Glad to finally have a proper dress piece with the correct height proportions. From the Landspeeder boxart it looks like it might not only be the back that is sloped but the front as well. If its anything like Queen Amidala's gown piece it should also have pegs to connect to the torso like the standard minifigure legs rather than studs. Hopefully plenty of other characters like ANH/TLJ Leia, Zuckuss, Shaak Ti, Wat Tambor and Nute Gunray make good use of this piece in the near future. Finally the new Ki-Adi-Mundi is perfect! He looks like a huge improvement over the old Clone Wars figure. Can't wait to see how Barriss Offee turns out.
  9. A similar minifigure count to the Death Star would be great although plenty of the characters have been well covered in recent years. The main minifigures I'd be interested in are updated versions of Luke and Lando, another shot at the Bespin Han figure that came with the UCS Falcon and BOTH versions of Princess Leia (the red gown and white jumpsuit - preferably with a new mold for her hairpiece). Anything beyond that is a bonus.
  10. The main ones I want from the Last Jedi (tagged for potential spoilers)
  11. My spoiler-tagged wishlist for the Last Jedi sets.
  12. Looking forward to the new classic X-Wing. This new one looks much improved over the previous version with the new cockpit piece, more detailed wings and R2 facing in the right direction. I'm assuming the second pilot will be Biggs Darklighter given his astromech was leaked on Instagram a couple weeks back, which is great finally having a flesh skinned update after all these years. Easy pass on the Sandcrawler. Its a nice cheap option for those who don't have one yet but there's no way it can match the UCS version. Will be interesting to see what the new droids are. I'm guessing the protocol droid will be the same (or similar) gray RA-7 from the Yoda Chronicles set but I'd love to see a CZ series droid. The Jedi Starfighter looks to be a similar build the last couple that have come out. The new design is much sleeker than the original but it does seem a bit oversized for my liking. Don't really have a preference on the Anakin minifigure. His Clone Wars costume could use a redesign with back and leg printing, but an AOTC version would be welcome if it means finally getting a padawan hairpiece. Bit disappointed the 501st Clone Trooper and AT-RT is a buildable figure rather than a battlepack.
  13. I don't have a problem with Amidala's Starship being done in gray bricks. It was never an issue with the Naboo Fighters we've gotten in the past and I'd prefer that over not getting the starship at all.
  14. The hood looks great on Luke. Hopefully its included in the set. Its always nice to see that piece in new colors. I don't think that's new printing on C-3PO's face, just the reflection of the lighting. Shame the Leia on the poster is the Force Awakens version - guess this means we won't be seeing her in the Winter wave. I take back what I said about Mace Windu's face - I saw a close up of the figure on Instagram and its definitely a different print to the First Order Finn. They really nailed the likeness with the new face design! But again the lack of side leg printing is the one thing that's really holding the figure back.
  15. Glad to see there's still some reveals left regarding the leaked figures. The new headgear looks good on Poe and its nice to see him appearing in more sets. Hopefully there's also a new General Leia waiting to be revealed from the Crait set.
  16. Fantastic work! Definitely one of the best I've seen. Its a shame Lego never released something similar. The lack of Minas Tirith will always be a huge missed opportunity from the LOTR line.
  17. Its not over yet. We still haven't seen leaked pictures Ki-Adi-Mundi, Dagobah Luke, Yoda or Coleman Trebor (or whichever character he's placeholding) yet. I find it hard to imagine the FO Finn/Rose set won't include a Phasma either given how the trailer showcased their big dual. It makes more sense for the boots and tunic to be dual molded with the pants being printed in the middle. A lot of Jedi don't really require dual molding though. The main ones that do are Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Mace, but others like Anakin, Ahsoka and Plo Koon can get away with the printed pants technique used on the new Mace and Quinlan Vos figures.
  18. I'd like to see a UCS version of Jabba's Palace. The last release was good for retail, but something larger with more detail would definitely be appreciated. I'd like to see more of the Max Rebo Band incorporated - primarily Sy Snootles and Droopy McCool to complete the original lineup, but the Special Edition dancers like Lyn Me and Rystall would be more than welcome too. I'd love to see the Sail Barge also get the UCS treatment too, especially if done similar to the Sandcrawler in terms of price range and serving as both a playset and display piece. I don't think Slave Leia would be much of an issue. Disney may have toned down the focus on her but she hasn't been outright banned like rumours have suggested given she's appeared in Pop Vinyl form since then and even made an appearance in the last Lego video game. As far as Jabba's henchmen go - Tessek and Yak Face are definitely at the top of my list here.
  19. Mixed reaction to the new Mace Windu minifigure. On the positive side the new torso and leg printing look like a great improvement over the last one. The way they've separated the tunic, pants and boots on the legs are a nice touch. But I do think this is one of those cases where the figure really needed side-leg printing. It looks incomplete without it and makes the Star Wars line feel like its falling behind when the technique is common in other themes like Superheroes. Its also disappointing to see he's reusing the same head as FO Officer Finn. One thing I've always disliked about the movie Mace minifigures is how plain the face prints have always been. As horrible as the anime eyes were on the Clone Wars figure, the extra detail did capture the characteristics of Mace's face better than any of the others have. Its good to see the Astromech from the battlepack will be yet another based off the many background droids in the films, and it looks like the Jawa will be sporting a new torso print from the two Sandcrawler variants.
  20. Glad we're finally getting Luke! The hairpiece looks fantastic and while there may be a bit too much white on the torso, the tan cape helps balance the colors out. The face print takes a bit of time getting used to but I'm definitely getting more of a Hamill vibe here than I do with most Luke minifigures. Be patient. We'll get DJ and Canto Bight eventually. Look how long it took for Lego to cover The Force Awakens: 2 waves just to get Leia, Maz, Ackbar and FO Technician. 3 waves for Unkar Plutt, Teedo, Lor San Tekka, Luggabeast and Jakku Poe. 4 waves for Bala-Tik, Guavians, Rathtars, Major Brance and the Blue Uniform FO Officers. Plus TLJ sets for Ach-To Rey, Jedi Master Luke, Snoke, Ematt and Flight Suit Poe. As it stands they've been doing a much better job at covering the characters in the Sequel Trilogy than they have with the Prequels, which still has too many absent characters and variants to name. Luke is the only one I don't think they've captured well. Han's face print has always been fine and the new hairpiece has only improved the likeness. As for Leia I think the angry expression of both her young and old faces capture her character perfectly. The smirk expression I'm a bit more mixed about - it works well for the older version from TFA, but I think the smile from the UCS Millennium Falcon fits the younger version better.
  21. I'm impressed by the number of new minifigures we're seeing for next year - Dagobah Luke, Ach-To Rey, FO Rose, Wuher, Major Ematt, Ki Adi Mundi, Executioner Stormtrooper, the new Resistance pilots etc. And still more yet to be revealed! Its definitely a huge step up from the lackluster character lineup we received this year. I'm definitely looking forward to a new Cantina set, but I do hope Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba are also included. Most of ANH has been well covered but these two are still such a huge hole in the collection and no Cantina would be complete without them.
  22. I'd like to see the D'Qar Resistance Base released as a set but probably not as an expensive UCS. Something more along the price range of the 2011 Echo Base that was exclusive to Toys R Us would be better. I do like the idea of designing it like the Unexpected Gathering Hobbit set with the hill style building. The minifigure selection could probably be reduced a bit as well. We've already gotten figures of TFA C-3PO, Admiral Ackbar, Major Brance and Snap Wexley so I don't think we need any repeats of them. In Ackbar's case I rather his next minifigure appearance be based off his Last Jedi costume instead of a re-release of the ROTJ/TFA versions. Resistance Rey, Leia in the blue gown and Poe in the Resistance Officer uniform should be enough for the main heroes, while Nien Nunb, Stratura, Connix, Ematt, Kalonia, PZ-4CO and either Pava or Asty could round off the rest.
  23. I'd go with the Imperial version. Its the more iconic of the two and the set is a much more visually interesting display piece. The framework of the two sets is also identical so even though the First Order version has a more detailed interior, its actually quite easy to replicate it on the Imperial version.
  24. I was expecting it to be expensive - but not AU$1300! Still it looks like a fantastic set. Much more detailed than the original version and I love the inclusion of the interior. The new Bespin Han and Hoth Leia figures look great too! Hopefully both will be released in more affordable sets one day even if they keep the respirator faces exclusive to the Falcon.
  25. I'm hoping the next time we see the Mos Eisley Cantina it will be as a UCS playset around the same price range as Assault on Hoth and the Ewok Village. A similar number of minifigures would be great too, especially if they include Dr. Evazan, Ponda Baba, Garindan, Wuher and Momaw Nadon. I've said it before but the Cloud Car would be a great set to include Leia. They could include either the Bespin Gown or the Bespin Escape costume - and whichever one they don't go with can still be released later with a new Cloud City set. Its the perfect solution to releasing both costumes. I also hope we see the new Hoth Leia eventually released in a cheaper set down the line. We've seen it happen before with other UCS minifigures like the Jawas, Bespin Guard, Ewok Warrior and R2-Q5 - but we usually have to wait a year or two for it to happen. She could come with the standard face print so the respirator one is still exclusive to the UCS Falcon. You're not the only one. Ever since they updated the cockpit canopy with the First Order TIE I've been wanting to see the other TIE Fighters updated in the new style. Its also been too long since we last saw the Bomber and Interceptor. The Royal Starship is definitely at the top of my list. It doesn't even need to be chrome. I'd be happy if it came in light grey as long as the set finally gets made. I would like to see it come with both Queen Amidala/Sabe in the black feather headdress gown and Padme in the orange handmaiden costume. I agree Jango's Slave I also needs a re-release. The biggest change I'd like to see in the next version are the wings done in a more accurate style like the UCS version. I've never liked how low they hanged in flight mode on the previous system models. They should also take the opportunity to include both Taun We and Lama Su. Kaminoans are long overdue and given the lack of material for Kamino themed sets its probably better to include both characters together rather than just one or the other.
