[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If LDD uses only 16% of a single core, probably the bottleneck is not the CPU but the GPU (or the software itself...). Obviously multicore support would be a good think anyway. -
If you don't want to select and classify minifigs, surely you will not obtain a price as hight as you will do if you'll do it. I recommend you to make some photos, and than let the buyers make the price. Common minifigures has a low value (1-2$ range), but desirable and rare minifigures, especially licensed ones (such as star wars characters' minifigures) can reach 10-15$ range and more.

I was pretty sure the right door was available in LDD... instead there is the bigger one only. About minifigs, LDD has the right wig for the lady. Beside, I think is better to find an adequate decoration id possible, instead than leave blank faces.

Very beautiful set! You can use this topic to book you works in LDD. And remember to check both the index and the last pages of this topic to see if a set has already been made: index is not updated in real time, so that there are almost ever few sets not included in the index already. In the firs post of the topic is reported (with link) the last indexed post.

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests

Eheh, and absolutely uncomfortable for me! Probably I would set the desktop as destination, if it would be customizable. -
315 - European Taxie Theme: BASIC > Large Vehicles [Brickset] [Peeron] [BrickLink] Download (LDD 4.2.5): - Direct link HERE. - More on my BrickShelf Gallery HERE. - Visual Gallery HERE. - Get the ZipPacks from HERE. Known Inaccuracies: - old 1x1 bricks with headlamp (3087c) are replaced with newer ones. - The whole system around tires (7049, 7039) is "reimagined". Fortunately I found similar rims, so the final appearance is not too different. - I replaced smooth tires (132-old) with the only tires that fits in the rims available. - 1x1 bricks on the front in the original model are decorated with "Y" and "3" (3005pt3, 3005pty) instead than eyes! Comments: It should be the oldest set I've: still have pieces (excluding grey tires) and box, but no instructions.

Chance to change the directory where LDD puts its screenshots! Very strange I didn't remember about this request before than now. -
Stopping LDD from downloading junk

CTRL+4 is correct for me: it minimize browser sidebar. CTRL+3 hide the toolbar! Thanks for ctrl-1 shortcut: I hate camera control on the screen! has anyone tested the host file modify? I can't reboot my pc now to test it. PS: hiding the browser sidebar don't solve the problem. PPS: Another easy workaround is to click on "product" button on the universe homepage: the link brings to a page that don't generate script errors. -
You must use an image hosting service to upload your image on the net. Then you have to tag the image link between [ img ] and [ /img ] tags (without internal spaces) inside your post. As image service you can use for example imageshack, that provide image thumbnail and a ready code string for forums.

Little index update. @BrickWild If the sets are identical, I'll report both numbers in the index. Are there differences? @All Remember to respect thumbnail size suggested in the topic rules: no more than 512 pixel for eight and width (even smaller if possible, for example for small sets), cutting out white stripes.

Stopping LDD from downloading junk
Calabar replied to roamingstop's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Another temporary fix could be to modify hosts file (for windows systems) in order to redirect universe home page to a blank page. Can anyone try this solution? -
Yes, and that's why I asked you about that. As you can see, alternate models of Creator sets are indexed, so I'll add your alternate model in the same line of your main model.

Index updated! 21 new sets have been added! (4 of that already in the index) Check your sets for errors! @roamingstudio What is, exactly, your "851/951 Tractor B Models", a parsonal variation or an official alternate model?

Stopping LDD from downloading junk
Calabar replied to roamingstop's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I had this problem too, but it vanished some times ago (but my LDD was opened about a month ago, the last time). When it happens, I thought it was related to the integrated browser: the rendering engine was not able to display universe mode page contents. At start I thought LDD used ie6 rendering engine (or, better, the js engine), but as LDD works on mac too... probably my guess was not correct. -
First sneek peak at LDD 4.0

LEGO is a worldwide company, not a familiar business. So I think that an industrial machine of this kind is an investment that they could do without drain their blood (I hope this sentence is right or at least understandable :p ). Moreover, I think the machine would be much more fast and reliable than human hands: data directly acquired by design by me software, no human errors reading brick lists, no need to wander between hallway full of bricks' containers. The machine I've in mind is enough simple: like sweetening pillows containers, composed by a box and a "filter" (different for every kind of brick), with a simple check mechanism (based on weight check or optical recognition). If prices would be comparable to LEGO official sets, I think much more people would use design by me to buy LEGO. But that will be possible only if LEGO would automatize the procedure, in order to be able to satisfy the demand and speed up the whole process. -

No magic, but simply an industrial sorting machine. There are machines based on optical recognition that sots just picked tomatoes sorting that by colour and size, here is requested much less: a machine that receive e list of pieces and provide that from the right container (I suppose pieces has been divided, one box for each, previously in production stage). Then pieces could be enveloped by the machine itself, employers should only manage packaging operations (compose the box, put instructions and envelopes inside, close the box). It would surely speed up the whole process, and I don't think it would be an impossible investment for LEGO. -

I hope they don't really package design by me sets manually! Perhaps it is only a way to show how LEGO care it's clients, but not the real procedure!
