LDD Community Build?
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
But the rules will be not: "post and take the file" but "verify your post is the following and than take the file". No chance of confusing about that. Besides there will be an implicit double check: other users can clearly see who is the user from who they should expect to receive the file, so if another user take his own wrong initiative they could auto-manage that situation. I think this method is not only easy to manage, but faster too: no need that a moderator manage the passage of the file. Besides the file would be available to all users immediately, if someone want it for some reason. So, my "vote" is for this method, but that's not really important: any method will be chosen, it will be ok. Another aspect could be those related to the starting model: - who starts? Ever the same user (the moderator) or another user? - what about theme? Free theme or a theme decided before starting to build? The "risk" in the firs case is the risk that a user insert in his creation some specific bricks in order to force the project in a specific theme: in this situation, I think it is better if the theme is decide before. -
LDD Community Build?
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I think there will be not confusion: the post order is an incontestable referee: the writer of the post immediately following the one of the user who shares again the file is the only one who can take it! The forum can't write two post "simultaneously". -
LDD Community Build?

It's absolutely possible... I didn't read the whole topic! I think it is better and simpler than using private message, however. -
LDD Community Build?
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Another simple way could be that: As soon as a user concludes his work, he posts in this thread sharing the file. The first user that posts after him can take the file. Obviously there should be some rule, or the file risks to be taken ever from the same users. Another idea could be a sort of "booking queue". The only issue about this method is that an user can't try to have the file when he has "the inspiration", but he will have it simply when his turn will arrive. -
@retroelectro666 Hi and welcome! You probably lost the topic's rules you can find in the first page of the topic. For you the same I told to elmerohueso in the post above your (about image size and set's data). About sharing lxf file, forum attachment is not a good way. Great part of users uses a brickshelf account to store his/her works, other prefer a webspace they own, other uses file hosting services (adrive, for example). EDIT: avoid to use forum's attachment function for images too. You can use brickshelf boh for images and lxf files, or use a free image hosting provider such as imageshack for images only.

@elmerohueso Hi. You should resize the image, maximum size allowed is 512x512 pixel. Besides you should insert well highlighted set's data (number - name - theme). PS: same issue for this post (image exceed maximum size). Could you fix both?

The post is "illegal" simply because the preview image is too big (maximum size allowed is 512x512) Nothing related to how the set is built! PS: you did double post!

Yes, I only need to know if the set works properly with LDD4 (no parts removed because missing or not placed correctly), so that I can indicate in the index that the set is "LDD4 compliant". Obviously it would be better if you use extra pieces LDD4 provide too! This topic should be a list as simple as possible where I can find data relative to sets' upgrade.

Important Notice ! I created a Topic where report LDD3 to LDD4 update of your sets! Post there and not here! NOTE: post there even if you have already posted here!

The great number of upgrade due to LDD4 release risks to make the Official Set Topic difficult to manage. So let's use this topic to report an upgrade of our sets. Only posts reporting updated sets are allowed here. - Post here if you upgrade a set for LDD4 - Include the link(s) to the upgraded post(s)! - Don't insert images. - Post here even if you already posted in the official topic. Other upgrade procedures are the same described in the Official Topic Rules. NOTE: only sets reported here will be updated in the index. Last index update: here.

Recreating Classic Space - help!
Calabar replied to jamzee's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You can find some classic space lego set here. Unfortunately LDD4 removed two important pieces for Classic Space (4737 and 4741) available in LDD3. -
It is simple... because using the old posts I've not to modify the index for that set every time. I could do it for few sets, but if every user will do the same it would be an important increase in my workload (especially now that LDD4 has been release and many users will update their sets). So I prefer to create an easy rule in order to manage updates in the simpler way as possible. I can do it this time if you want but... only this time please! (indicate me which set then)

Some notes: The image is too big and exceed 512x512 pixel limit. Could you fix it? Only a little note: only a single image is permitted for a single set: you can post the second image as a text link! EDIT: oops, I didn't noticed the set was still unreleased! Remember to inform me when that will be done, so I'll add it to the index! I'm not sure what you have done. Working on the index, I noticed you make two sets two times, so I inserted that as duplicated versions of the same set. But, according with topic's rules, it would be better if you simply edit the original post (you can insert more than one link to lxf files, for alternative versions) and report the modification in a new post (text only, well highlighted, as images can be inserted only in the original post). It would be important too to report when a set is a duplicate (i.e. it has been already made in LDD by someone before), that helps me very match to built the index. Good work! It would useful for me if you insert a direct link to your old upgraded post too! Thanks!

IMPORTANT - Removed bricks in 4.0
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It would be useful if LDD would place conflicting bricks sideways instead then delete that. About deleted bricks, can anyone create a table with images with all informations, such as "the brick has been replaced with... (differences: ...)", "the brick has been incuded in... (advantage/limits of the new version: ...)", "the brick has not been replaced". -

I've a warning: two bricks not place correctly and removed from the scene! That's strange: bricks was well spaced each other! -

Still have my portable version of LDD3 (do you want? :p ). So, if you prepare the lxf file with LDD Manager, I could generate the screenshot.
