  1. If there will be some gondor soldiers they will not have breastplate piece. I guess that their armor will be printed like in videogame.. So only new moulds will be helmet and possibly ashield, but shield be also a terdrop piece like the elven shields from MEA.
  2. I ment these lego versions :) But I agree that there should be some helmet for moria orc though..It is not so hard to mould one, and also I miss the shield... Such a shame TLG didnt pay attention to that.
  3. Actualy Moria orc doesent fit with the rest of his coleagues... too greeny :) But fig alone is quite good, accept the legs...
  4. Nice review, although, it has weird color scheme - suppose its targeted to kids :) Lion soldiers and knights are really cool, and they have really nice printings, almost some realistic one - like the soldier with the blue and white coat. So these can be used in some historic moces, captures some French soldiers. Dragon knight are nothing special, almost poor. Castle itself looks childish :)
  5. I think that original Azog is betterthan the other one on first picture.. The figure seems just right, btw in original movie he also cannot use his prostetic arm to hold something. Maybe stab something, but definitely not for holding... :)
  6. I dont speak about used brics, there are plenty of useful dark red brics, 1x1 slopes, dark brown brics etc. but I dont like that creation... Its really poor.
  7. This set is very poorly designed. Apreciate this variety brics and minifigs. Like the spiders design but thats it. I built it and have it on a display for a while but now I use these brics for some addiction to my existing sets like Dol Guldur or some... Only luck is that I bought it for 200 crownds, its like 12 bucs or some.. :)
  8. Just phenomenal built/diorama. Countless bricks, countless amazing build techniques...Really great!
  9. Ön a contrary I think Azog is just fine. He dont need to be customized. This minifig capture the character of the Pale orc. He is different than the other ones. He is bigger and pale.. Great mould of his head, and nose is not the problem. I agreee with u that there is no claustrophobic feeling form this set, its just a courtyard. And also gree thet Vampyre castle set from MF series is great oportunity for mocing and adding to the courtyard. Dol Guldur itself has many staircase, many tunnels and so on. I guess that there will be some MOCs soon, I already work at one.. My first act is to recreate proper main tower to the current one and add some trees and vegetation...
  10. There is also battle of river iron. It captures how kings son Theodred died :) And much more... :) Its like behind the main scenes thing... :)
  11. Unfinished Tales from J.R.R. Tolkien, edited by his son Christopherfrom his father´s notes :) Guess 3th age chapter...
  12. Yes u get Legolas, Boromir, Pippin..they are good figures, now Legolas is not unique, so the rest unique characters are Boromir - quite normal, nothing special, and Pippin. Orc are weird - because of their unprinted legs..And Gimli is like Gandalf - almost in every set :) I didnt said the Mines of Moria is ugly set, but it is just wall and door...Lot of grey like DGB. Azog is main evil character of the first movie and the figure is just great (on Lego), Radagast is third wizard form middlearth, so he is really important, much more than Boromir for comparasion. Orc are sometimes bald, so its not a tragedy...Same like elves, some have hoods some have hairpiece. Its always good to have variety of minifigs. And for the rest - which quality you mean? The set is good representation of Dol Guldur, much more better than Mines of Moria. But still I like both of them. This is really big overprice... :(
  13. Its better for them to use already known character rather than introduce a new one with his history like Khamul...
  14. High price? Thats a joke right? It takes 69 bucks, Mines of Moria - thats useful set with high price. Only interesting figure is Cave Troll but either way, he is blue and that is awfull
  15. I know where Angmar is, I just trying to tell that Whitch King or the first of the nine was probably in Mordor during this storyline
  16. According to book it should be Khamul the Easterling...second of the nine. Not Whitch King of Angmar...Angmar was in Mordor ... And also, later when White council attack Dol Guldur, there were three Nazguls who lead Dol Guldur armies.. Either way, this set needs Twilight nazgul...
  17. ITS a DWARVEN RING FROM THRAIN.. and it is not a spoiler because anyone can read this informations in Silmarilion and in Unfinished Tales...Wizard ring is just mistake...There are 3 Elven Rings, 5 rods of Wizards, 7 Dwarven Rings and 9 Rings for Men - Nazguls. And of course THE ONE RING :) Lackluster? From all Hobbit sets this is one of the most inspiring... 1. Bag End - definitely the best one 2. Dol Guldur Battle in combination of DGA 3. Attack of the Wargs 4. Lake Town Chase 5. Goblin King Battle (maybe) You can extend this set in way you want to, this is just a courtyard, and its a good representation of it. If they build a good representation of fortress it will cost at least 200 dollars, or more, and then there will be no less criticism on the way how they did it...The Hobbit sets are aimed on kids thats why they put there a lot of play features...Initiate LOTR line has no play features like these...They were focused on realistic reproduction of the buildings such as Helms Deep, Weathertop, Black Gate and so on, and to be honest, they have to do with realistic price for general audience... This set is good, It should be better, but is good. Every minifig is valuable. Necromancer too..After all its a shadow, black spirit whichlooks like a human but its not. Orc are quirte good, Azog is excelent Add on, and Radagast as well. And Gandalf? It doesent matter, not everyone have this fig. Not every kid have all of those sets. :)
  18. http://www.flickr.com/photos/92826309@N07/11180107404/ First view on my extension of original Hobbit set DGB... Its only 1.0 version, probably I will change some details, anyway it should be main tower or stronghold to the Courtyard we had in 2nd wave of Hobbit... :)
  19. Poor sting...
  20. Thats my experience so far. I just think that SW and LOTR lines are not the same. It also depend on sales not franchise. Think about this: Why they buy LOTR license now (2011-12) and not when the movies cmes out (2001-2003) ? My opinion is that they did like what they did just because of the Hobbit Movie. It sels better when you have a movie to came out. What will they do when Hobbit ends? It is possible for all of us that they (TLG) will produce somemore sets in any case, but more likely this line will ends same as POTC line did. To the Treebeard think: Good point, but did they made exact same copies of proper characters from the movie? it could be treebeard, but also it could not. If they made another wave I suppose that they will focus on more expected sets like Gondor themed structures with new characters any arguments are based on experience with last wave so maybe I am wrong. But its almost clear that there wont be any set from LOTR next spring/summer... Or there will be some further sets, and they keep all of this informations in secret :)
  21. Elven rangers or Wood elves look like much more better with hood and possibly a cape. Those hairpieces are great and I agree that there should be another hairtype for them, but there are already so many elves with hair...Now we have rangers, and I hope that we will have some knights in future, with helmets and printed plate armor...
  22. Yes but there are 7 books of HP, 8 movies... So thats why they made so many sets... As for LOTR, there are 3 movies from 2001-2003 nothing else.. So why would TLG produce another Legos when they can focus on some Super Heres sets and so on. Btw we wait over 10 years for another movie from Middleearth, Jackson has no rights to make another movie..and there is no further stories..Unfinished Tales? Or Silmarilion? I dont think so... :) I know u want more sets, I want them to, so much..but I am trying to be logical... We already have a few good sets, so maybe at the end of the sells, we can buy much more of them cheaply and make something on our own. And yes I miss Gondor. So badly damn... But time will show ..this is only a speculation.
  23. Its good idea but I thing that this legos are directed to the movies..so probably after TABA we can see one last exclusive set at best...
  24. Yep, but LOTR IS NOT Harry Potter nor Star Wars..Star Wars is produced over 10 years so they can effort to make several typese of one specific characters or even repeat some sets and so on. Same as Harry Potter. Firstly they did this theme normaly with yellow headed figs, after then they "renew" theme and create once again all of the characters.. LOTR is different. And even that Orthanc Ent is not refered as a Treebeard, I think that he is ... Who else, generic Ent? Its up to us, how we think about it...For me its a Treebeard. The fig is almost the same as that one from the Movie. Repeating Characters in LOTR is probably never gonna happend, (not speaking about Aragorn and Gandalf, these characters are different) If LEgo does third wave they will focus on the rest of Middleearth, like Gondor, Orcs, Rohan (Eowyn, Gamling or regular Knight) and Galadriel.... Deffinitely they wouldnt do some other versions of Ents etc...After all as I said, you can built your own Treebeard there is nothing new on him. Same as Balrog...
  25. Hoodies are better...
