So images will be available at the same.time as sets? Btw is there any idea why Lego didnt make Bolg at least in the same form as he is in the videogame? New mold will be only those metal thinks on his head smaller piece than whitch king crown...

Does anyone knows when there will be official pictures of the new Hobnit sets?

There will be no more exrtra build I guess, the set contains 470 pcs, how many of them TLG used for Ballista and that demolished bridge? There will be some rocks and small ruins with window I guess (according to the picture on the box. Loomk at the new Lake town add on, it has arround 320 pcs, and it is small structure, basically the tower and small something...So dont hope for something extra, remember how it was with the Lonely Mountain set, the picture was cut and everybody hopes for third section...and then... They get disapointed :)

I guess that it wil take a lot of money, far more better is to take the whole set unless u wont only few specified figs.

They were taken down because of Lego Gropu request. Somebody have them on flickr but most of the guys here includin me saved them in computer. The sets looks similar to the description from London Toy Fair. Whitch King battle (around 110 pcs) - small ruins with tree and catapult, including sceleton and Whitch king, Galadriel and new Elrond in golden armour and green cape Attack on Lake town (around 320 pcs) - bell tower with windlance, bridge and small structure, with two orcs (mordor torsos) with new hairpiece, Tauriel in bright green outfit, Bain and Bard (same print as LTC but possibly scorched outifit and scars on the face BOFA (around 470 pcs) - Ballista, and some kind of stairs, bridge and some ruined structure with armored Thorin with his crown and golden armour (print), Azog, Dain with new helemt mold and mohawk, Two generic Gundabad orcs, Legolas (same as in Attack of the Mirkwood spiders) Bardwith new print (like SDCC 2014) and Eagle.

Out of topic (not entirely) but just counting hom many regular soldiers (for the good guys) or non-character minifigs we get form LOTR and Hobbit line and I count to... (Lake town guard, Rohan Soldier, Generic Elf from barrel escpae/poly, elven captain, elven ranger from Mirkwood,...) So thats 5. 2 men, 3 elves. No dwarf, no nothing. Only characters or orcs. and there is only 3 kinds of them (exclude Goblink King Battle. Ok 4 of them.. Thats very sad.

Nobody there rides a horse. In movie there will be battle rams, but Laketown folks dont ride horses, they are fisherman, and elves, are more likely on foot or hiden in the trees. So why should be horses in thath battle? Never the less, battle is on slopes of Lonely mountain, not a good terrain for horses dont you think? :)

Yep agreed but BOFa is called BOFa because of those 5 armiese excluding Eagles.

Yeah but according to the original Tolkien´s Hobbit "Theres and back again" battle of five armies contains Elves, Man, Dwarfs, Wargs and Orcs. Eagles are mentioned in few sentences... Maybe in one sentence Bilbo": Eagles, eagles has come..and then he lost his consciousness..So this can be hardly count as a regular six army. Truth is that there was 7 armies (if u inculde bats as well...) Story depicted in LOTr is completely different and the battle on pelenor fileds doesnt call battle of ...dunno... 5 armies (Army of dead, Orcs, Haradrim, Gondor and Rohan), it calls battle of Pelenor fields. So its really out of place to compare these two battles and makes an argument from it. :) U can buy Azog with the DGB set.

Wait a sec, that think on Dains helemet (that golden something) is not removable? I cannot believe in that. Its just some kind of "plume"... Regular grunts... I want them too, but Characters are characters. They have to create sets which can be used separately for playinf (for kids...) so thats why awe get alll those flick fire missiles, catapults and repeated heros like Loggy, or Bilbo, or Gandalf...

But point is that it will be still "battle of five minifigs". 69buck battlepack? Come on, I didnt hope for it not for one second. It was obvious that thre will be at least 2-3 main characters. And thats not armybuilding set at all. Yep I hoped for regular dwarf or elf, but on the other hand? I can easily create my own ones. Sur e without helmets (at least elves) but who cares.

What did u expect in 69 Dollars set? Real five armies? Dozens of figs or what?

Or maybe thats a new thing, to show all the minifigs and thecreatures in the set on the boxart. Lonely mountain is the same with the Smaug...

I think that you ´re right, ater all that´s what I thought myself, but it is really wise to spent those precious pieces on something like crossbow? I would rather have nice Dale structure, than that.

I am wondering why TLG put that Crossbow/Catapult in the set... Just WHY??? For kids?For function?

Not everyone, like I postet before, Lonelyn Mountain set has too many possibilities for modding. And it is overpriced becausee of the Smaug. For the first time when I saw it - it dissapointed me but on the second thought it is good set, really good one.

So now after some while I just accept these fnew looking sets, and on the other hand I have to admit that whe get new dwarven helmet mold (as we wished), we get Thorin in armour and Crown (as we wished) even when he has no breastplate (which doesent fit well with those hairpiece), we get new Bard, and Tauriel in casual Attire. Then we get brand new Whitch King with new crown mold, Galadriel and armored Elrond and all togehter in cheapest set, so that could be perfect way how to collect armored torsos for elven soldiers, and all nine Twilight nazguls...(some can be mocced with white hairpiece etc). Not every wish come true, I assume that TLG had problems to create Bolg minifig with dignity, which he deserves, so they replaced him with Azog who is one of the main evil characters. We already have Beorn, so there is no need to have him once again, even that there is no bear form for him. Also we miss regular soldiers but, TLG is focused on characters rather then regular grunts. And Its understandable that they give us eagle rather than new War pig or Ram. Its pricey and this set up makes sets (BOFa) more universal for exampe for kids who doesent have every set. So they can recreate battle (or fight) with all main characters. I am sad with the resul how these sets look like especially when I look on th older sets from the line. there was so much potencial but this is something we all know. So be happy for what we get. Mocers can easily makes this set up properly, and collectors can easily mod the sets. Howk!
