Yep grey Wall, but depict the scene properly. Maybe after you see EE of Dos you will change your mind. Its hard to create DG with 800pcs you know... That sets have tge DG feeling they qre creepy and evil looking. If you dont like them how they look you can always moc them ot extrnd them in your way ;)

Along with Faramit I would like to get Boromir in armour as well :) -
I skipped Goblin King Battle too, along with Barrel Escape. Sdly now I reaalize that I wnat after all my negative thoughts those setss but here is kinda hard to find them for decent price. Europe (at least Czech) is really expensive (for Lego) and almost everyone wants 20-30% add on to retail price so ... Mirkwood Elf army is really great armybuilder... Buy two or three...you will get tons of elves and wargs :)

I think that this Tower is not the scene that we get in BOFA set. BOFA structure is clearly something from Dale (roof, colour scheme...) the Tower from Raven Hill is kinda Dwarwish outpost, ruined by Smaug, and some speculations says that maybe this location will be main Camp of evil forces... Maybe they will lead attack from there, since there should be dwarven company hiding before Smaug...

MAybe, but I thing that more than that, Desi´gners are no more intrested in Middle earth theme. Make a videos to say goosby should be automatic gesture of polite to the fans... This is just "we dont care about this any more, thats why we made those choices (figs structures..) and thats why some sets look cheasy and unfinished... because we dont care. "

I am on the Deathleech side.. More sets with possibility of combination to recreate proper MT is just most racional odea to depict MT as proper as it possible to maintain atleast Helms Deep size... Those sets could be themed for example as Lake town sets are. Front gates could be Battle at Pellenor fields with Rohan, Nazgul/Grond/Haradrim, orcs and Gondor... Then Citadel with Denethor Witch King, Gandalf and Pippin, and others.. Maybe battle between White wizard and Witch King and also Pippin who helps to save Faramir, then maybe outer walls in army builder style.. Kids can use each set as whole think and as bonus they can collect all of them to create white city.. Also separate sets would be cheaper deal.rather then one massive Fortress/city -
Yep but BW did just a vid with Smaug... The rest of the sets remains without commercial or some introduction to us (fans and customers)...
-
If I remember well last year there was those videos at the same time as the sets was released right? So this is another proof that TLG throw all Middle earth theme to the trash... :(

Still no official designers video on Lego com... Weird
-
I can understand that, and I know that Castle theme is mostly for kids (or younger kids) so therefore it looks so fairy and colorful. Thats the reason that he dragon looks ... like kinda cheasy. But thats only my opinion :) On the contrary, Hobbit / Lotr theme is more darker and more serious, (figs, structures etc) and Smaug is simply king of all dragons that TLG ever made. He is true king under the mountain :)
-
1. Castle dragon is really bad lego creature in every kind of way you can imagine. Wings are simply awfull. 2. This should be hobbit thread so its better to discuss here topics asociated with Lego Hobbit. This is not one of them. For that you can use Lotr thread. :)

Those sets could work fine enought as they is if there would be third wave, and in that case it will be more understandable to put Gondor soldier into the BBG set... -

Did somebody ask TLG/ designers why they make such choices in Lotr sets? -
I know funny ... :D
-
Maybe if there will be chance for next wave in LOTR series, there could be reason to create Sauron fig. One with orange/fiery glowing colour scheme to fit the Hobbit and one in pearl dark grey to fit LOTR Prologue... This fig requires new molds for helemet and pauldrons...also he should have helemt and head in one piece like Beorn to make that figure slightlyy bigger than regular minifig. So the differences will be in colour printing and maybe in colour of cape...But I am totally agree with this.. Sauron would be nice.
-
Maybe now I understand why they made that choice for DGB set, what I miss is Thrain...only new prints was required (torso - dark brown robe, and head with triangle tatoo.) Such a pity.
-
Is this video scen somewhere for watching? I just read some scenery form EE but never seen those scenes. I agree I wish we had a Thrain minifig (his tatoo on face is really cool)... To sad that DGB set was only 860 pcs or something like that...wish for at leat 1300pcs...
-
Thats funny, no designer´s video yet on the official pages... Seems they dont caare anymore about this theme.. Its more then week after official release and nothing...no advertisment no nothing. Maybe thats why the whole middle earth theme was cut.
