Barad Dur was already in the making when Rivendell was released… Bag End is huge miss, because of its poor design and huge price (for what it is). Black Pearl with around 2,9k pieces for almost $400 will probably not sell well enough. Depends on the overall design and willingness of AFOLs to do TLGs biding… I cant justify this expensive even for myslef no matter what. Dutchman is far more bugger than Black Pearl, so would be what… $500 set? $600 set? Thats is just insane, and we are just speculating… I think that this is one off. And probably it should be one off.

Hmmm, I will wait with my judgement until more official pics come up… From what I see, I already hate this “newish” rigging and the angled upper gunports doesnt seem right to me… Fighs are good for what they are representing. Still price above 300 $ is riddiculous… Lego will lose the core of its fand if they continue to be that expensive, without making their sets 100% right.

I think that Fellowship has to be included in CMF (if we get one)... These character are the core of the story. But it would be great opportunity to give them unique and never before seen outfits and accesories. For example: Frodo - Mordour outfitt (to fill the gap in Barad Dur set) Sam - Mordor outfitt Merry - Rohan outfitt Pipin - Gondor outfitt Legolas - from the Helms Deep battle (with chainmail and leather pauldrons) or in grey outfitt from Rivendell Gimli - noble outfitt Boromir - Gondor armour Aragorn - Coronation outfitt / Battle at the Black gate outfitt Gandalf - new grey robe print and hat+hair combo or in white outfitt The remaining three characters could be either "legacy ones" - Elendil, Isildur, Gil-Galad or random folk from the trillogy such as Barliman Butterbur, Lobelia Sackville-Baggins and Bilbo (but not likely), or Saruman, Galadriel and Elrond... This approach I can see and have peace with it for CMF 1st wave. The second one could expand to other characters such as Gríma Wormtongue, Theodén, Éowyn, Faramir, and other long craved figs :) -

Nobody says that LKC is a direct remake. Its a rathewr homage to the OG sets from late 80´s and early 90´s. After all you can watch the interview with set designers... -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

Even though I really like the idea of big battle pack, i passed The Siege Encampment. I would like to build tents such as those in the set and possibly a trebuchet, since these are to me the highlights of the pack... but thats it. Only BLD set I ever purchased is Mountain Fortress since its a great castle for my rather big Falcon army (around 35+ figs). Still it has its flaws, but it is engaging to make small changes here and there (I updated all panel walls and replaced them with brickbuilt ones, changed the tudor style house and made some furniture etc.). What I pray for (as many others as I can see) is a proper return of the theme. I thing, that its ok to have one larger set per wave, and once in 2 or 3 years get a full castle such as LKC. But at the same time, we (or at least I) need to see small sets, such as Black Monarch ghost, Black Knight, Sea Serpent, Wolfpack renegades etc. These are great for multiple purchase as well as one of play set. If designed properly. It will be great if LEgo make another big castle after retirement of LKC, this time focused on Black Knights. It could be remake in the same style as Eldorade fortress or something completelly new and fress with respect to the OG one. Also what is missing is a village life. We have MTS, but there are plenty of other add ons which could be made. A Town Hall, marketplace, larger pub / Inn, Armory, Watch tower, City gates, Stables, Library (for Wizards and Schollars), armorer (not just blacksmith), potion maker, bakery...it goes on and on. 4-5 sets per year, with tha range of 10-150 USD would be great. I miss those battlepacks or figure packs, with 4-5 figs, from each faction, including villagers... more horses (black, white, grey...), more animals (new collour for cow), more versatile torsos without faction emblem (like Griphon knight), nobility... So much potetnial, so many options and opportunities. All we need is decision to do it and team of designers with pation (Wess Talbott, Mike Psiaki, Milan Madge...). These guys could make incredible castle wave, I am sure of it. Just give them green light! :) -

“So I came to the conclusion that lego do not want their customers to have the best playing experience…” Sometimes (infact mostly) I think that too… :/ -

Yeah, mee too. I am curious, why they didnt put the white horse form Tri-Wizards tournament: Arrival in PAB. I know that there is a licence, but not for the common pieces right? If they can put the white horse from Marvel in PAB... -

Thats Creator… ;) I think that the set is a great parts pack for those who builds… The structure itself is meh, for me the horses are also not usable but the bricks are most welcomed. And figs are great. -

And there will be Sea Serpent ship as a gwp next year and there are several hints here and there (for example redesigned black knight shield in LKC manual)… so we just pondering the question “what if”? ;) -

Yes, its piece consuming, but that is not wrong or...? I consider Eldorado Fortress as a great set, which elevates original design and gives us perfect remaster of what it was back in 80'... Maybe this time (IF TLG decides to do brick uild raised baseplate thing again) they will have different approach based on reception of EF. Raised baseplate such as this, gives you oportunity to take advantage of the space and make a dungeons and cellars etc. I would be more skeptical about overall scale. A castle with a single baseplate footprint is rather small... -

What is wrong with Eldorado Fortress? IMHO 2-3 factions are a lot for 1 castle. I would prefere to focus on Black knights and have maybe 1-2 rogues like Wolfpack or another variants of Forestmen… having Dragon Masters in a BK set makes no sense for me. But to be honest I dont like Dragon masters at all. Havent like them back in 95’ and that wasnt changed ;) -

I would like to see remake of the Black knights castle or even better, completely new one with predominant black and grey colour scheme which will be evolved BKC as LKC was for Lion knights. But… anyhing is possible and we can end up with nothing or with completely different approach… until some rumors and leaks pops up, we are lost on the sea of speculation, wishes and dreams :) -
Yeah. But… also, MOC like this shows that even a small sized set cozld be designed well, properly, so it doesnt looks like childisch something with random bricks put together… There is no need for so called play function, just a small set like a boat or little cave, catapult or whatever, with few minifigs… For padt several years it feels like Lego is disconnected from the customers, and their likings…

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Blazej_Holen replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It will be still around 200-250$ at min. In this price range I expect excelent quality design, since its a premium price… 300-350$ seems more likely but all depends on what Lego decides to include. If the goal is to recreate that OG Black knights castle, then it would be pricey to include 12 figs, 4 horses, two new bardings etc… -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Blazej_Holen replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think that griffin torso could (and possibly would) be reused in Black knights set (if we get one). Its very similar to the original scale male torso used back in 90s. Bratsplate piece would be weird on "non-knight" minifig... I think that those breastplate prints from 90s were great. So many posibilities for use, so I hope we get those in new design... My thoughts exactly... I have strong feeling, that there is a Black Kinghts castle on its way, with release in 2026 (as the LKC and MTS will be retired). There are too many hints here and there that supports this theory :) -

Blazej_Holen replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think that they can reuse griffin knight torso just with differetn plain legs. Then there is a space for creating a new versatile torso (maybe for black knights), depicting that printed breastplate. This, oval and triangle shield and a cloth sail would be only things Lego need to do. I guess that only exlusive part would be a sail, if they actually release some redesigned Black Knights set... Based on the experience with how Lego treats new parts and prints, I consider this as a possible way how to do it properly... Anyway, I am really looking forward to the Sea Serpent... These competitions and votes along vith BDP clearly shows, that there is really big interest among AFOL community in the old Castle line revival... There could be some novelty here and there, but Black Knights and possibly few new forestman sets are what we need and want. -

I hoped that reviews will make the set better in my eyes, but nah, its just skip. I am not interested for that riddiculous price... My last purchase was Barad Dur few months ago.. still in the box. This and Shire, is just something beyond my willingness to pay. Shame on Lego with this pricing policy. -

It would be perfect if Sea Serpent will be GWP to the new Black Knights castle set ;) Hope for a cloth sails and new shields (the redesign of original ones)… -

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Blazej_Holen replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Perhaps it does, but copper is more fleshy and unique. I consider reddish brown as boring colour for helmet. Anyway… It would be nice to get 1-2 new castle helmets for next sets (hopefully we get them in 2026, as LKC and MTS retires this year). There are sadly too dew helmet types. For foot soldiers only two. For knigts we have three… I would like to see some new helmet for men at arms and new visor for knights… also pearl dark grey would be mostly welcomed… -
