[Type - Alliance Mission Log]

[security - High]

[Report from: Vedauwoo (Pilot) {VK-23}]

[Location: {Classified}, Imperial Frigate "Suprosa"]

"I have a bad feeling about this.... We have just left the Commander's briefing (He insists we call him "Josh" but that seems a bit too informal to me...) and apparently we have a new mission....to transport several squads to an imperial frigate called the "Suprosa" for an assortment of missions...."

"Here's the rub, we've been assigned a VK-23 "Freighthopper" lovingly called "The Worrt" for the task....I dunno if it's to surprise the imperials....or perhaps it's some sort of cover....But, it's an ugly son of a bitch..."

IMG_9372sm10.jpg

Originally, it was some sort of Republic shuttle, but it's been modified for quick transit of freight between starcruisers....thus the "Freighthopper" designation....

Commander "Josh" has come down to personally supervise the load up...

IMG_9379sm10.jpg

It's my first chance to meet a few of the other operatives...."Wick" Is apparently quite the adept slicer..and has a crew of varied species...I always enjoy a chance to speak Rodian or Ithorese...though I can't master "Stereo-speech," so my quips come off a bit flat....

IMG_9356sm10.jpg

Zaael is another story....seems like a very likable guy...but so far, has been all business, so I've tried to stay out of his way. That being said, I look forward to learning more....he's obviously very skilled, as his crew has been assigned the assault on the main computer core.

Before long, the bulk of the pilots arrived to help with the assault...Seeing that many of the starfighters were bogged down in maintenance with retro-fits, they had nothing better to do...and, after all, we pilots can be creative in a pinch!

IMG_9377sm10.jpg

It was beginning to get quite crowded in the TG-8....

IMG_9358sm10.jpg

Our last Mission specialist, "Monty" had perhaps the most difficult task of all...he would ride in strapped to the frame of the transport, in a pressure suit! We are to drop him right outside of the landing bay doors, where he plans to make his way along the exterior of the ship to sabotage equipment....with nothing but a mag-gun and Thermite charges!

IMG_9381sm10.jpg

I watched as he skittered across the ship plating and into a special harness installed over the forward landing struts...

IMG_9375sm10.jpg

At the last minute....the Commander decided to join us to watch over the assault from the TG-8's computer console.

IMG_9360sm10.jpg

After ascending the Cockpit gantry, I verified Monty was strapped in.... He had the steely look of determination about him.

IMG_9373sm10.jpg

I strapped in and began the take-off check list....

IMG_9382sm10.jpg

The port turbo-laser turret was having a few moto-location issues, but that wasn't a biggie....we don't expect much of a fire fight on the way in...and on the way out? Well, that's where "The Worrt's" triple "Duo-Ion Emancipator" engines would come in handy....load power equals speed with nearly no freight.....

IMG_9386sm10.jpg

Once the engines were powered up, Captain Zeeb and Norven guided us out of the hanger doors....here's hoping everyones' missions are successful.....we are truly a little "in over our heads" on this one....

(sorry for the unbalanced lighting, but I dropped a light three shots in, and only had a 60 watt bulb, instead of the preferred 75w....[i know, "first world problems...." lol])

The details are all over the place, there isn't an inch that doesn't catch the eye, the ship is also very original, not my style but I still love it.

I am impressed. Based on your "in progress" pics, I thought the craft would be much smaller... and then I saw the final result.

This turned out really awesome!! I am surprised by the size of the ship, just like Wick. Very well done!! :classic:

Most impressive. The scale is instantly attention grabbing. I'm amazed at how much is going on and how everywhere you look there is so much to see. There are so many control devices and activity. You really went all out for this!

that's a big, beautiful hangar. I like the overall shape of the ship and the y-wing cockpit but I think you missed some opportunities to make it a bit cleaner, I also don't really get why you did a separate crew module section for the attack squad, especially when the space is so similar to the mid section of your ship. I think it would look more fluid if you had added that module to the middle of your ship or replaced the section above it. there are some really interesting details throughout, like the dbg telephones on the dbg domes and the top of the crew module, but a few too many studs for my taste on the back end and on the base. I also think you could use a few more engines to fill the empty spaces in the back.

I hope you don't mind the harsh critique, I didn't see a request for C&C in you post, but based on your skill I assume you're a mature builder that would appreciate the notes

It really all came down to timing and evolution....Originally, I had built an "invasion scene," but then got promoted to the "pilot build" and had to start over....my first two ships were much smaller and integrated, but I didn't feel like they were "starwarsy" enough(we'll probably see it show up in a future AG build...)...and my crew compartment only held the leaders, and had no extra room for troopers....so I began again (3 days before contest end...) Liked the idea of the "aegis" drop ship that drops off the crew module, thus the separate module....the "carrier ship" began as just a skeletal frame with a cockpit....but, I thought that looked way too "Space 1999" so I began to add outer plating......then at about 1 am on the 30th (had worked all day thinking deadline was midnight on the 29th)....the weight of the shuttle became so great it began to shed its legs! I realized then that many of the poses I wanted to do for the storyline were going to be impossible...as moving the ship more than once or twice caused it to fall apart...

With more time, I prolly would've rebuilt again and integrated some more of the design....I will need to start sooner next time...lol
