  1. Hello! I recently bought a 3D printer and I am trying to make my own custom Lego pieces. Spray paint sticks to the custom pieces quite well, but it's being hard for me to find the right colors to match the LEGO ones. Can anyone recommend brands of spray paint for specific colors? Or maybe techniques used? I'm looking in particular for Flat Dark Gold and Flat Silver, but I'd be interested in any color you have experience with, for future reference. Thanks everybody, hopefully this topic can become a little database for people in my situation.
  2. Hey all, ive been customizing LEGO clone troopers for some time now. However, one issue I have is the varnish. My process is to simply paint with apple barrel and then apply a coat of Golden acrylic archival varnish (glossy or matte). I applied the glossy one onto this model (Kix) and, like usual, it gets sticky and attracts a lot of dirt that coats the LEGO. Is there any solution to this? Should I try a different spray? http://imgur.com/nqZt8dq http://imgur.com/7cAmVTh
  3. The gold pieces of my Bionicle sets from 2003-2005 in time "tarnish" and I don't know what to do to stop or revert the process. I tried bicarbonate, lemon juice, ammonia, peroxide, soap, salt, leaving a piece in the sun for a couple of hours, casting it in boiling water, putting it in a peroxide glass and leaving it in the sun. No results at all. I was considering painting my Avohkii, but I don't know how to achieve the perfect color. Do you know what paint/dye I might use? I want the piece to match the original 2003 gold from LEGO. Thank you :)
