  3. Hello everyone, I am back again to share my fourth LEGO Star Wars Rogue One review. The earlier LEGO Rogue One reviews which I reviewed were the 75153 AT-ST Walker, 75154 TIE Striker and 75155 Rebel U-wing Fighter and I enjoyed building/playing all of these sets very much. Thus, I have been trying to do these reviews whenever possible to share with the Eurobricks community. Hope to share more of my other new Rogue One sets which I have bought. Please note there will not be any major movie spoilers but there is bound to contain minor movie spoilers. If you are those who have not watched the movie, then please do not read this review. I will be surprised if SW fans like yourself have not watch this spin-off. To add on, I am integrating many references and facts which can be found in the informative DK Star Wars Rogue One (Ultimate Visual Guide). Without further ado, let me indulge you guys in this review. Movie spoilers ahead (potential), read at your own risk. Name: 75152 Imperial Assault Hovertank Theme: LEGO System / Licensed / Star Wars / Rogue One Year: 2016 Pieces: 385 Minifigs: 3 Price: USD $29.99, GBP 29.99, EURO 29.99, SGD $79.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 75152 Imperial Assault Hovertank Back view of the original box image of the 75152 Imperial Assault Hovertank The latest new LEGO Star Wars Rogue One minifigures addition The strong assault hovertank will tear the taunting rebellion apart The Imperial Empire has continued to build their ground arsenal and successfully developed an armoured tank with cargo transport capabilities for added protection since the end of Clone Wars. The Empire has an impressive starfleet and is actively occupying many planets. It will also require a strong ground assault vehicles to manage the occupation against those resistance elements and for law & order. The Imperial Assault Hovertank is appearing for the first time in the Star Wars Rogue One series and the first in the Star Wars universe. This tank was seen briefly in the Battle of Jedha. Don't underestimate the capabilities and you probably realise too late that it can battle effectively in tight corners against guerrilla operations. The content of the sealed box The sealed box comes with four numbered mint packs and are numbered from one to four. The instruction manual are part of the content. After the set is built, these are the remaining spare parts which are spread across the packs. You can view the spare parts for packet 1, packet 2, packet 3 and packet 4. The continuation of these awesome new LEGO Rogue One minifigures Let's glance at these minifigures from the smallest 2016 Star Wars Rogue One set. From left to right, we have Chirrut Îmwe and two Imperial Hovertank Pilots. I am very fond with these minifigures especially with their detailed printing. Upon removing their helmets and hairpieces, you can see back view of the minifigures with their alternate facial expression. All of the minifigures are featured with impressive back printing. All of these minifigures are unique to this set and if you wish to get Chirrut Îmwe who is one of the main characters of Rogue One, then this set is a must-to-get set. Chirrut Îmwe is a former Guradian of the Whills, along with his best friend, Baze Malbus. He believed that all living things are connected through the Force. His sightless eyes do not prevent him to become one man to beat ten men, quoted by Ip Man. Although Chirrut Îmwe is not a Jedi, but he continued to hone his body through intense physical and mental discipline. The famous quote in the Rogue One Movie is, "The Force is with me, and I am with the Force, and I fear nothing for all as the Force wills it." His choice of weapons include the handcrafted lightbow as ranged weapon and walking staff for melee combat. The minifigure printing is very impressive and it even take consideration of his 'Echo Box' at his waist, which transmits assists in situational awareness. These Imperial Hovertank Pilots are responsible for the Empire's Ground Assault Vehicles. They drive everything from troop transports to heavily armed combat tanks. These drivers are lightly armoured and rely on their armoured vehicles for protection. In the Planet of Jedha, these drivers steer the mighty TX-225 combat assault tanks aka Imperial Assault Hovertanks through the narrow avenue of the Holy City, demonstrating their superior firepower and escorting the kyber shipments extracted from the ground. They normally don't work alone and work together with other Stromtroopers on ground and also obtaining their superior air support for additional cover. The entire building content for Packet 1 The completed built for Packet 1 The completed built for the first packet is to form the front of the hovertank and cockpit structure through mainly grey bricks. This packet also include Chirrut Îmwe minifigure. The entire building content for Packet 2 The completed built for Packet 2 The completed built of packet 2 is focused mainly on the left side of the vehicular mechanics and firepower. The entire building content for Packet 3 The completed built for Packet 3 The completed built of packet 3 is focused mainly on the left side of the vehicular mechanics and firepower. It also include two Imperial Assault Hovertank Pilots. The entire building content for Packet 4 The completed built of the Imperial Assault Hovertank This is the completed built for the Imperial Assault Hovertank aka known as Imperial TX-225 Assault Tank. It's menacing appearance is largely made up of dull grey facade. This Imperial Assault Hovertank measures over 8cm high, 20cm long and 14cm wide. It is very fun to play with for merely battling or cargo transport escort. It can fulfill both of these functions very well. With some troopers on the ground escorting with the tank for added security, it's even better when you can form a column or envoy with two or three of these Imperial Assault Hovertanks. I think that will be pretty impressive and for this reason, I bought an extra set for it. When I compared with the similar type, 75100 First Order Snowspeeder, this is so much better and impressive. There are several playing mechanisms which can be seen from here and here. There are shooting spring-shot missiles from the front and adjusting the various weapon features like the Dymek 2e/w medium laser cannon at both sides, a pair of forward-locked antipersonnel Dymek 2e/w medium laser cannon at the front and commander's gun at the cockpit top. The achievement of making it hover looking is done very well through those wheels beneath the base which make it subtly well hidden. The opening of the vehicular cockpit was a slight disappointment to me. By right, there should be a opening at the hatch where the Tank Commander can stand up to man the position. Well, it does achieve some sort of opening for the driver and commander at the front which you can see their seating over here. Our Eurobricks Duke, Forresto have done some modifications to the hatch and I am very pleased with it with that simple modification. Other members also done some modifications on their own too. This storage container can contain weapons, bombs and even precious cargo like kyber crystals. It can be opened by lifting the container lid which is pretty simple to play. I love the idea of having a tank becoming a cargo transport too. It is just like a 2 in 1 multipurpose. You can see the storage container safely placed at the rear of the Imperial Assault Hovertank. These are the images of the Imperial Assault Hovertank which can be viewed from the front, side view, bottom view and back view. Let's take those hovertanks down Band of Rebels The force is with me and I am with the force To conclude, this set is an above average LEGO Rogue One set. I like it very much and is fun to play with to form many battle scenes with this AT-ST or AT-AT. I look forward to acquire a few more of these if is heavily discounted The minifigures assortment are great and the design is realistic and stayed close to the actual reference. If you are a huge fan of Rogue One or want to complete some of these unique minifigures, this set is not to be missed. What do you think of it? Will you like to get this set too? Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Fun playability on the transport escort aspect and great to 'hover' it around.) Design: 8/10 (Good original design but needs some improvement on the hatch lid as it is unable to open it.) Price: 6/10 (Price is much reasonable elsewhere but now I know Singapore SRP is on the high side which is very disappointing which will certainly deter me from buying here.) Overall: 7.7/10 (Do get this set and complete your Rogue One collection.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about you? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.
  4. Hello everyone, This is the first review which i am going to do from the LEGO SOLO: A Star Wars Story. I haven't watched the movie yet and was feeling pretty excited after viewing the movie trailer too. I will plan to watch this movie soon, so rest assured that this review will contain nil spoilers. This review will be done in a different fashion and it will be kind of concise with about a total of 12 images in this presentation. This is because I had bought many sets earlier and deboxed them from overseas. More importantly, I need to highlight that I had finished building this set before I do this review for photo taking. There will be some other reviews which I had planned to be carried out in such a manner and I am experimenting to omit the building process for each packets for example. Not sure what will the outcome be, but do leave your thoughts and feedback whether you love this new reviewing style or do you prefer the lengthy version? Without further ado, allow me to bring you again into the Star Wars Universe. Name: 75209 Han Solo's Landspeeder Theme: LEGO System / Licensed / Star Wars / SOLO: A Star Wars Story Year: 2018 Pieces: 345 Minifigs: 2 minifigures and 1 Corellian Hound Price: USD 29.99, GBP 25.99, EURO 29.99, SGD 59.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 75209 Han Solo's Landspeeder Back view of the original box image of the 75209 Han Solo's Landspeeder The sleek ultra fast Landspeeder in the Galaxy When I first saw this set, I had laid my eyes on it and make it a point to get it as soon as I can. Among the many LEGO Landspeeders being released, this is my personal favourite design due to its ultra sleek navy blue appearance with tons of machinery details laying out. I enjoyed this built very much plus the fact there's a high degree of playability. I also glad to note there's nil stickers in this set. Han Solo and Qi'ra minifigures, plus a Corellian Hound This set contain two excellent well designed minifgures namely Han Solo and Qi'ra. Both of the minifigures contain alternate expression which reveal their aggressive looks. People are familiar with the name of Han Solo was a smuggler who became a leader in the Rebel Alliance to restore the Republic and a key leading figure in the defeat of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Qi'ra was from the planet Corellia who lived during the reign of the Galactic Empire. She grew up on the streets along with Han Solo before working for the Crimson Dawn gang. She was first introduced in this movie. The Corellian hound was a type of hound from the planet Corellia. A fleet-footed, loud-barking, highly aggressive species. These hounds were used for attack and tracking. Different views of the completed built of M-68 Landspeeder Check out the various vantage views and angles of this awesome landspeeder which is capable of seating two passengers comfortably. Han Solo's Landspeeder is also known as Mobquet (M-68 Landspeeder) which is the name for the build and model. No one really knows how Han Solo got this piece of sleek landspeeder in his possession and my guess is his hot-wiring skills made it possible. The M-68 Landspeeder is a high performance land vehicle. It is capable of lifting off the ground by a repulsorfield, while propulsion thrusters push the vehicle forward. Each thruster has a variable exhaust nozzle that shapes and direct thrusts and lets the pilot spin the vehicle at high speeds. The repulsorfield also works as a traction field for better control. To take it so much power, it ought to have a very reliable cooling system in place and the cooling fan does the magic for the repulsion generator. You can take a overview look after removing the landspeeder's bonnet which include a spanner to keep for repairs. The built is excellent and compact. I am fond of the whole colour schema and my only complaint is the rear of the smooth spoiler which reduces the air drag. I am not particularly fond of the light grey angular plate piece. It is quite an eyesore and I wish it can be either black or just match with the same intended colour. Past landspeeder designs do not contain wheels below to allow it to move smoothly and making it appear is hovering around. That is definitely a welcoming feature under playability. It also come 2 spring-loaded shooters as well. Different comparisons of recent official Landspeeders I owe you nothing, so get lost! To conclude, this is an above average LEGO Star Wars set and I bought them for the design, minifigures (different variants of Han Solo) and the Corellian hound. It has high playability feature and contain nil stickers in place of printed parts. This set is accompanied together with the 75210 Moloch's Landspeeder for the chase scene which I had bought it as well and may have plans for a future review too. The local price is too expensive and I am glad to buy this at an offer from overseas. Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Fun and enjoyable landspeeder with great playability especially the wheels below to create the hovering effect) Design: 9/10 (Great minifigures designs and nice landspeeder design with a very minor flaw.) Price: 7/10 (Quite expensive but do get it when is on sales.) Overall: 9/10 (Enjoyed this set very much and the whole colour scheme and as I type this review, this model is placed nicely in front of me) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? (Star Wars poll function is still broken and I exclude the poll in this review). I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

    REVIEW: 21311 LEGO® IDEAS Voltron

Ecclesiastes, thanks for sharing this lovely review. Glad to see this ready to fight the evil lurking in the universe. I had watched the cartoon back in the 1980s and enjoyed my childhood very much. Seeing this actual Voltron being built into a Defender kind of put me in a mixed warm feeling. It's great to see an iconic childhood toy re-appearing and at the same time, feeling impressed with the integration of the 'tigers' forming Voltron. It increased the playability and stay true to the original. This set is definitely in the eyes of Voltron fans and if you guys are wondering what is this cartoon all about? Check out Netflix for viewing. Meanwhile, I have my very own childhood Voltron toy to share.

Thanks guys! I am glad you enjoyed seeing my display set up. Now you know my secret. and it was previously in storage containers whenever I need it. I definitely not comfortable on cutting onto my tempered glass even though I don't know to imagine a small CPU fan could help? That's interesting and I am just curious on how exactly it can be done? I never opened my curtains and those curtains in my room are specially made for sun block. On top of keeping 'myself' and others out of the room. How do we exactly create positive air pressure other than creating vacuum seals from the window edge.

Thanks makoy! Will love to see your display too. It will be awesome to see your display overview. Yes, I fully agree that this kind of display set up is very prone to dust. To minimise and slow the process, I never opened my window and always keep my room door closed whenever I am not inside the room. Hopefully this can help to slow down the dusting accumulation.

  9. Updated the first post with the highly detailed minifigures' posters.
  10. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments. It was enjoyable reading your posts. Why don't you get the Batman CMFs too? Or you aren't into Batman? Unfortunately, many of u doesn't have a chance to get Percival Grave in the wild unless you happen to encounter a sealed box which is about to await its opening. Yes, indeed a marketing success from a revenue perspective. Likewise, I am hoping there will be a Series 2 which will include other Professors of Hogwarts. It will be awesome and is something I hope it will extend beyond the first series. Now, I understand what you meant. However, the 4737 Quidditch Match and 75956 Quidditch Match are the closest 'battle packs' which you can ever have. Thanks! Unfortunately, that's my single biggest complaint. Same sentiments. It could be perfect for Nagini to be able to stay on stud. I suppose to make Nagini look realistic like a python size. The depth of the whole body could be better with its wider and thicker appearance. Interesting. I really don't think they had used a Doctor Who license. Could it be a coincidence in terms of reference material? Yes, Queenie Goldstein is the only minifigure to wield the black wand. There are 6 different kinds of coloured wands in the series.
  11. Thanks guys for your comments and thoughts! It's great to see you being excited of this upcoming series. The distribution ratio of making Percival Graves in just one per box is a result of creating an artificial shortage in view of actual demand. Brilliant marketing strategy from revenue's perspective. Great to know that you love the past and present comparison and unfortunate that Cho Chang's skin complexion was captured wrongly. No, I don't recall or record the positioning of the 'exclusive' minifigure. I really don't think it will be that accurate, to be honest in all sealed boxes. I am surprise that you even thought of army building any characters? I don't think there's a specific need for army building unless you referring to mass gathering of parts for specific minifigures. Thanks Herisanmi. I am planning to make an Unikitty review but I haven't actually bought any Unikitty stuff or sealed box yet. I am trying to work out something and I will hope for the best to make this as a priority for reviewing as part of my personal reviewing experience. There were a strong interest of Unikitty fans where it was first sighted in Billund when we were there earlier in end May. Unfortunately, there's no alternate facial expressions and these are only restricted to a handful of them. An illusion of presenting the sealed box distribution is "Hey I have 2 complete sets of 16 Harry Potter Universe minifigures and 1 complete set of Fantastic Beasts minifigures. What a wonderful surprise". Punt intended. The Hogwarts Express is an original set which was released in 2010. You can find a review of 4841 Hogwarts Express which was one of my early reviewing work for reading pleasure. It's a secret bonus character. Thanks Holodoc. Glad you enjoyed this review! I will seriously consider your feedback on the lighting and let me think of how I can implement it. I understand you are not keen to spend that much amount of money for a minifigure but considering this is an licensed premium minifigure. You might want to reconsider getting those that of significant interest to your priceless collection. Don't have to buy them all but buy what you really need. Interesting point on Dobby's short legs. Sorry that I am unable to fulfill your request as both of that sets are currently still in their boxes and I don't have that character lying around in my collection where I can just take it for photo shooting.
  12. Thank you very much for your thoughts and comments for this review. I appreciate the forthcoming comments for the review. I am also glad you had enjoyed reading and viewing those images. It is fun to put this altogether. I have updated the review slightly including scanning a better resolution of the posters and packet. I get what you meant by the lack of sharpness. In this case, it is a silhouette of the tiny insignia on the torso and it is not as sharp as before where the insignia was quite big. Yes, the lack of their insignia is quite disappointing without the Houses' origin for the grey sweaters but yet is generic enough. I am sure you will find suitable parts for your future MOCs and I am looking forward to see what amazing things you can do with them. Indeed, I am looking forward to see more of the new skirt pieces expanding into other themes/sets as well. You ought to have all of the six different colour wands. It is so much nicer to have so many variants. Apart from Luna and Cho's plain medium legs, Neville also have generic black legs too. Me included! However, I don't think it will happen anytime soon especially since LOTR sales didn't do so well previously plus there isn't any upcoming movies to tie-in. Updated the word error and also a special picture for you for your request (updated in the review), To sum it up, no matter what nice or bad things you felt about the series, it is all about customising and making it right to your own personal preference. I don't think TLG can be so perfect in their design expectations as many of us had various level of expectations as well. Thanks CopMike! I am glad I had persuaded you to get a full box in a magical instant. I did not aware of the clone brands which is capable of doing such part. I am glad TLG had done their own version. I am glad the wands' original state interest you as much as it surprises me too. 10/10 is definitely on the high side and scoring is quite personal (based on my own judgment). I equate all as a whole series as it is. I don't think it fare badly on the design aspect for the minifigures despite of lack of back printing for some minifigures as it also compensate with new parts/accessories. If I were to rate the minifigure individually, then it won't be a case of 10/10 each and I will probably take an average out of it. I am viewing as the whole of the series and minor dissatisfaction on the design is not enough to sway me to give a lower score. Hence, I stand by my own personal rating. If one does not agree the scoring or rating, the person may take it up and express in the form of their own reviewing where the person is free to express his/her opinion. Glad the past minifigures had helped to show the progress in the minifigures' designs for the very same characters through the course of time.
  13. Hello all Eurobricks members and Castle collectors, The most anticipated Castle's set in this summer has finally appeared. I was glad to get it on the second day of its arrival. Over the past few days, I was busy building and writing up this extended detailed review. It shall be my biggest, breathtaking review ever done in Eurobricks. It will be done in 8 parts! May I introduce the 852293, Castle Giant Chess Set. Indeed, this is one of the biggest LEGO set packaging I had ever seen and is much larger than the 10179: Ultimate Collector's Series Millennium Falcon. In terms of weight, UCS MF is much heavier than the Castle Giant Chess set. However, the Chess set storage box is huge. Buyers' Warning: Trust me, if you have intentions to buy this set, please clear your car boot. Make use of retail shops' delivery service if any. Avoid buying at peak hours and used public transport after you bought it. It will be one tiring experience for you to carry it alone. The above scenario is tested by me on its opposite results Name: Castle Giant Chess set Theme: LEGO System / Castle/ Chess Set Year: 2008 Pieces: 2475 Minifigs: 32 Price: SGD$299.90 / USD$199.90 / GBP£139.99 This is the largest Chess set ever released with 32 33 minifigs ranging from humans, dwarves, trolls, orcs and skeletons. Castle Giant Chess set is one single set which offer so many Minifigs. It offers great playability, fun, collection, army building, display and many other possibilities. Previous chess sets which are the Knights Kingdom, Viking and the recent Castle chess set do not have minifigs to represent the rooks and the knights. This is the first chess set ever, to use minifigs to represent all chess pieces. Part 1: Product Showcase Boxart of 852293, Giant Chess set The storage box plus the content, is a huge giant which weighs almost 8kg. The dimension of the box is 61cm (height), 50cm (width) and 17cm (depth). Can you imagine how big this box is? LEGO Shops need to fork out much larger shelf space to showcase to the consumers. In fact, I believe most shops had problems storing it in the shop due to limited space. Below are some pictures displaying its different angle. Rear view. Depth: 17cm thick Storage case's interior This image is behind the chess board Taking a look of the Minifigs from the outside Part 2: Taking the box apart Base of the box This seemed to be the easiest step but the most important step to solve the mystery of using such a giant storage case. At the base of the box, it reveals another 48x48 gray baseplate and a thick instruction manual. Two gray baseplate of 48x48 Take a look at the left baseplate which is featuring the chessboard. Unlike previous chessboards in the past which is glued. This board actually allows us to take the black and white 2x2 flat tiles apart. One square has 9 same color tiles which are 6x6 studs. Just imagine and count how many such tiles are there? It's incredible. Packets of 8 These are the 8 labeled packets full of bricks and accessories. That is the answer to your mystery of the 2000+ bricks/parts source. Opening up Pack number 1 When I opened pack number 1 to begin building, I had noticed something different. There are many more small packets which are labeled as well in this order 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D. I find it surprising. I am not sure if this is something new but I had not built any of my recent sets for quite sometimes. A quick peep into the insturction manual Take a careful look at the building illustration. I believed you had a rough idea of what these bricks actually do. They are supposed to be part of the fun to build up a chess set. At the moment, I do not know how big it will be. You will find out in the later parts. Some nice pictures for viewing from the instruction manual In case, you can't view the wordings well on the third picture. It is describing the four different relams from top left to right as followed, Troll Camp, Skeleton Jail, King's Castle and Dwarf Mine. Part 3: Characters' Introduction Dwarf warriors and miners These are the dwarf warriors and miners that defend the kingdom. You will get instant 8 dwarves in this chess set. Fortunately, none of the dwarves is wearing the silver winged helmet. I had many of these due to multiple Dwarves' Mine Defender. Through this set, I will be able to get more various types of helmet which is very hard to come by as it only available in Dwarves' Mine. You can take a clear look of the chess standing piece of the Dwarves. Castle Defenders The archers came with quiver at the back and equipped with wooden bow instead of crossbow. The tower construction is pretty nice. You could easily use this in your Castle Tower MOCs by adding a watch tower on it. Castle Knights Both knights' attire is of a different kinds. Their barding is different as well. I preferred the left barding as it is uncommon and only available in the King's Castle Siege and Skeleton Tower. The chess standing piece enable the knights to show a fearsome looks, by allowing the steeds to lift their legs. Royal Wizards The wizards, whom protect the royal family. Nothing special about it. These are the usual characters which appeared in the previous Castle Chess set and the Good Wizard impulse set. It seemed the wizards had mastered the lighting bolts. Royal Family The King and Queen each hold a golden goblet. I am not very happy that the King and Queen do not have a cape at the back unlike the previous edition. I believed its due to the thrones that they are sitting. It might obstruct them from standing and damage the cape. However, the thrones are nicely design. I like it very much. Orcs Warriors The orcs are very good. It will be even better if all of them are equipped with the armor instead of 2. However, one good point to note that, all orcs are equipped with a shield. I just love these shields very much. Orcs armies are very easy to build up. The shields and the armor are pretty hard to acquire large amount. They came in limited amount in other sets as well. You can take a clear look of the chess standing piece of the Orcs. Dark Siege The white skeleton crossbow archers are not very appealing. They don't have a quiver at the back and no helmet on its head. I understand that some of us may accept skeletons without headgear. As for me, I can't accept it and will make a point to award a headgear to it. The siege is quite nice. It's mini scale. Kind of reminded me of the mini-models from Star Wars. Dark Knights The Dark Knights ride on the skeleton black horse with different attire as well. Nothing special or expensive about it. The chess standing piece enable the skeleton knights to show a sinister looks, by allowing their undead horses to lift their legs. Trolls Rock There are 2 trolls of the different colors, protecting them with their cubs. The brown troll is a much better choice as it only appear in the Dwarves' mine. Oh no, it's another whacking! Dark Wizard and Witch Without further ado, is the King and Queen of the Dark side. The wizard is the usual typical design. However, the witch which potray as the Queen is the most unique character in the entire set. Although this character will re-appear in the Castle Advent Calender 2008, but it give us a better look of its new face and torso. Personally, I like this new character very much. Part 4: The building process The building process took me almost 4 to 5 hours of slow building throughout the few late nights. I was not able to sit still to complete the entire building. This is your answer to one of the reasons why this set is so costly. Look at the amount of bricks being used in the setup. I can't believe it myself, until I experience it. Packet 2 and 3 Packet 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Part 5: Four Corners of the realms Dwarf Mine This is my most favourite relams. It has more gold for the dwarves to mine especially on its rock formation where the gold are found. A hot steam stove melting the resources. King's Castle This is a very nice castle tower layout which can be used to expand on your castle grounds. Just love these lion bricks on its side. Troll Camp The troll camp is a defensive structure by placing their spears at the front, to prevent attackers from moving ahead. The larva pieces, from the Agents Volcano base, are really very nice to illustrate some larva or flaming substance that flows at the side. Skeleton Jail An evil holding ground for the skeletons to hold their prisoners behind these claws, leaving them to rot over time, changing them into an undead as well. Part 6: Weapons by the side of the chess Overall view of the weapons from all sides Some close-up views Part 7: Giant Chess Set is complete The entire chess set is very huge and is indeed deserved the name of the Giant LEGO Castle Chess set. Let's take a look at the chess board without the chess pieces in place. With the pieces in place Leftovers I am quite surprised that I had quite a number of spare parts left. I wonder if I had built everything correctly. For people whom had bought this and built it as well, let me know if you have as much spare bricks left as I do? The game shall begins Part 8: Bonus features A special version chess set shall be created by WhiteFang. You can see that this giant chessboard offers many possibilties. Such as the Yellows Minifigs versus the Fleshies Minifigs. Disclaimer: All minifigs used by WhiteFang are not injured, damaged or hurt in any forms. Yellow Minifigs formation Fleshie Minifigs formation Who said it will be a chess competition? To summarise, this is a very impressive, superme chess set ever released by TLG. It's really very beautiful, just by looking at it. I am very happy with the building experience and the entire feature. It's a "must get" if you are able to afford it. The only downpart is its hefty pricetag. Other than that, I love it very much, especially the dwarves. As a castle collector and lover myself, this is indeed one of the most ultimate chess set ever known in entire TLG 50 years history! Summary review Playability: 9/10 (The chess pieces designed and the relams certainly makes the chess set looks lively) Design: 9/10 (This design has set the new standards for future chess sets. However, I hope that the future sets won't be as costly as this) Price: 8/10 (The set is very expensive but quite reasonable after taking into considerations of the bricks, parts and minifigs.) Overall: 8.7/10 (I enjoyed and loved this set very much! A outstanding superb display) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? Hope everyone of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Critics are strongly welcomed. More and more pictures can be found in My Brickshelf (When moderated)

REVIEW: GIANT Castle Chess Set (2008)

Welcome to Eurobricks. It’s kind of nostaligic to see my past decade of reviewing work re-appear again. I am glad the information given is still relevant and of use. The Giant Chess Set is still one of the most solid design ever released, despite of many other renditions. I haven’t been able to restore my Giant Chess Set and it is in quite an unfortunate state. This review is a good memory of what it had used to been. Enjoy your stay and see you around. WhiteFang
  15. Thanks Jim for the awesome technical in-depth Technic review coverage. There are so much details and insights for this supercar model. Plus the fact, that you are there for the Fan Media event too. It helps to give some coverage on the event itself. Great work and appreciate all of the hardwork which you have put in.

    REVIEW: 40308 Lester

Hello everyone, During my recent holidays to London in late May 2018, I had managed to visit the largest LEGO brand store in the world which is located at Leicester Square. I was pleased to be greeted by this iconic first-of-its-kind, LEGO mascot - Lester in his Union Jack outfit. The store experience was pleasant and you can find more of the store images in this Flickr folder, if you are interested to view my UK LEGO store experience. I went there a few times, but the experience is best enjoyed when you are at the store at 1000hrs so you can take nice pictures in-store. This is where the exclusive polybag is found. There is absolute no rush to get it as there are plentiful of stocks, retailing at GBP 5.99 each. I had to grab one and add it into my collection. The Lester minifigure was initially released as exclusive promotional minifigure and is limited to 275 copies and was given away during their store opening in December 2016 (if memories serve me right). There were skyrocket prices in the secondary market and a change of fate, the Lester minifigure was reported to be available in store for purchase without any buying conditions other than the restrictions in October 2017, as reported by Brickset. This immediate release crashed the resale market, especially there were nil notable differences between the two minifigures' design. Without further ado, let me share my simple thoughts in this review. Name: 40308 Lester Theme: LEGO Miscellaneous / Promotional / LEGO Brand Stores Year: 2017 Pieces: 5 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD NA, GBP 5.99, EURO NA, SGD NA Resources: Brickset, Bricklink An original polybag image of the 40308 Lester Back view of the original polybag image of the 40308 Lester Meet Lester and he is the mascot of LEGO Leicester Square in-store exclusive As mentioned above, I am elated to be able to own this wonderful exclusive minifigure in my collection, especially able to get it at the largest LEGO Leicester Square Brand Store. This will make an excellent LEGO gift souvenirs for your AFOL friends back at home as there is simply no other place to get it other than there. You may also consider buying some of the other promotional item such as the 40220 London Bus. Otherwise, you can also simply waltz your way to Hamleys Toy store, located at Regent Street to get the other LEGO exclusive in London known as the 5005233 Hamleys Royal Guard. One important thing to note, the building above is not part of the polybag and any guess which building that's from? The LEGO building content The polybag contains five building parts to build Lester minifigure and he is equipped with an accessory. Lester - all-rounded view inclusive of back printing Lester is a cheerful looking minifigure with his dark blue three-piece suit with the union-jack design as his iconic waist coat. The minifigure comes with back printing and equipped with an uncommon black umbrella which had made six appearances till this date including the Penguin from the LEGO Batman Movie. The black bowler hat is quite a British icon and is pretty uncommon too. Till this date, it had only made seven appearances as well. LEGO London exclusives Visiting the Buckingham Palace with his new found friend To conclude, this is an above average polybag for its special exclusivity value in it. It is very iconic and at one glance, you can easily identify the origin of this minifigure. It also comes with an folded umbrella accessory. More importantly, it is not restricted to 275 copies worldwide when it first launched. I totally welcomed the mass release and making this polybag readily available 24/7 all year round in LEGO Leicester Brand Store. Time will tell how long this polybag will last before it ever goes out of production. As of now, this had made it very easy for us to gain access without the fear of running out of stock. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Nice minifigure and a great mascot to add into your City setting and in my case, I placed it near my Ferris Wheel display.) Design: 8/10 (Minifigure design is pretty nice and a British icon.) Price: 8/10 (Though some might find it expensive, but I find GBP 5.99 very reasonable for me to part my cash away and hopefully for others to buy them within this reasonable price range.) Overall: 8/10 (You must get this polybag no matter what especially if you are great fan of LEGO plus it will put smiles to friends back at home who are into LEGO as well.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Oh my. I thought the umbrella was included as part of standard offering. Thanks for clarifying my doubts.

    REVIEW: 40308 Lester

Thanks everyone. I am pleased that this Lester minifigure is not restricted to just 275 fans. Everyone should have at least a chance to own it somehow. By restricting it in one store with ample supply, I think it is very fair to have a chance to get into the game. I am not aware there’s a difference in the black umbrella.

    REVIEW: 30615 Edna Mode

Hello everyone, I just bought this marvelous polybag at a heartbeat and I am excited to share this simple reviewing coverage with our fellow Eurobricks Community. Anyone could have guess that this latest exclusive 30615 Edna Mode polybag. This exclusive polybag is is part of the latest Disney sequel of Incredibles 2 movie. In this case, this polybag is only made available in console purchases and is part of the free gifts for PS4 and Xbox 360 for the new Incredibles 2 video-games. I did not buy the game itself as I am not into LEGO video-games lately and I don't think I will play it on my PS4. Hence, I thought of getting this lovely minifigure at a premium price in a secondary market. Without further ado, let's see if is worth my extra efforts to collect this polybag today. Name: 30615 Edna Mode Theme: LEGO Juniors / Incredibles 2 Year: 2018 Pieces: 4 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD NA, GBP NA, EURO NA, SGD NA Resources: Brickset, Bricklink An original polybag image of the 30615 Edna Mode Back view of the original polybag image of the 30615 Edna Mode Special exclusive minifigure which only can be found in a game console giveaway I am elated to acquire this minifigure and largely because I am a fan of the Incredibles movie. This polybag is part of the 2018 LEGO Juniors release which feature the latest Incredibles 2 sets. I wanted to complete this series but unfortunately I had a missed opportunity and probably be getting the minifigures through Bricklink or some other means. I will love to complete the whole minifigures and showcase the amazing prowess of the Incredibles Family. Although this polybag is only made available as part of promotional giveaway which even include a game code of "BRAB1R" that I got nil idea of what is capable of, but there ought to be other sellers who are just getting rid of these polybags and hopefully at a reasonable price. The LEGO building content The polybag contains four building parts to build Edna Mode minifigure. It include an instruction manual which is not really needed but a good tempting promotional advertisement to drop subtle hints on other accompanying LEGO Incredibles 2 sets. It is a huge pity that this minifigure does not come with any accessory and given the high price count and exclusivity. I thought a new 2x2 design tile showcasing her superheroes attire could be a nice touch to perfection. Edna Mode - Dual facial expressions Edna Mode is a great minifigure with superb facial expressions as seen above and the minifigure also come with back printing as well. Edna is a very interesting character in the Incredibles movie. She has successfully created custom-made original superheroes outfits in the golden age. Her each outstanding piece of work made her feels indefinite superior to other fashion designers in the world and shows little interest toward runway fashion shows and modern fashion models in place like Milan. She is the original designer for the outfit for the Incredibles family members. So, do you think this minifigure is as accurate as the reference design? Batman, which costume is suited for your special occasion? Mr Incredible vs Syndrome To conclude, this is an above average polybag which is probably the only chance ever, to get an official LEGO Edna Mode minifigure. I don't think it will ever appear elsewhere since it will probably be an one-off theme release under the LEGO Juniors theme. It will be perfect if she had an accessory like a custom 2x2 printed tile for example. This polybag is probably useful for Incredibles fans and causal buyers will probably not be interested in this. Although I think her reference design is slightly inaccurate but overall appeals to me greatly like her dual facial expressions. It is a good exclusive polybag and will be worthwhile if you can buy this reasonably in secondary marketplace or simply just buy the console game if you love LEGO video-games. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Able to integrate with any collection who owns the new LEGO Incredibles 2 sets.) Design: 8/10 (Minifigure design is pretty accurate and it will be perfect if there is an accessory to it.) Price: 6/10 (It will depends on how much you are willing to pay for since it is only available in a free gift package with video-game purchase.) Overall: 7.3/10 (Above average Incredibles 2 exclusive polybag.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

    REVIEW: 30615 Edna Mode

Agreed on the hairpiece which used a recycle part. It will be hard for TLG to justify its cost if the unique hairpiece is not used elsewhere. Noted, as it is each to their own opnion. More importantly, this review summarise my thoughts and excitement of buying it. Hence, the descriptiors used. I actually like the face print on this. Just the hairpiece is quite disappointing.
  23. Amazingly incredible piece of awesome collaborative display for Eurobricks! 3 cheers for all of you great builders. Nemo, thanks for breaking this one almighty display into collective efforts. I love the various builts being able to put together into one epic giant tree. I throughly enjoyed reading and indulge in this coverage. Excellent work and congratulations to all of the trophies received.
  24. My mind is totally blown away by the sheer catalogue of the global reviews and putting Eurobricks reviews into the stats and indexing. Truly amazing piece of analytical insight piece of project which I simply adore. I am on my mobile phone and I am surely viewing the tip of this ice berg. Thanks Pandy for the shout out. Linus, I echo Pandy’s sentiments. If you could somehow segregate with EB RA reviews as it will be helpful for us to understand how much reviews were done through this programme over the years. I seen my recent reviews also updated into the index. So pleased to see that. Not sure if this helps, below is the Flickr Group for RA reviews done. Not all of us upload there, but is a place for us to showcase some of our works. https://www.flickr.com/groups/reviewers_academy/ edit: if it helps, I had done about 196 reviews and I hope it will helps it does include some of my customization reviews though. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/profile/2351-whitefang/&tab=field_core_pfield_23
