  1. @Ayrlego Thanks! Originally it was a very Mughal-looking building, and I wanted to make it slightly more European. The crennelations are a Greek touch, so I thought some cypresses would go well with them. I'm always trying to show more of Halosian religion, so the Monks and the Monsignor were just another side of that.
  2. Start point: Astrapi, Île Zeus Adventure Purpose: To find the weapon of the gods! Troops: 10 from @Phred, 10 from @Keymonus Coffers: 100 Dbs Characters: Padre François Monsieur Gallo "Juggernaught" Jones (@blackdeathgr) (This is a solo effort rather than a collab build, I'm just borrowing some resources from my countrymen). First meeting of the Astrapi Collective Diocesan Council by Ross Fisher, on Flickr Minutes, first meeting of the Astrapi Collective Diocesan Council, taken by Monsieur Gallo, a notary. Meeting held in the function room of the Astrapi Inn. In attendance: Padre François, priest of Hades, Renè Duchamp , on behalf of Tristan Ribaud, "Juggernaut" Jones, on behalf of Hugo d'Offren , Sergeant Carel, of the Astrapi guard, Brother Aquila, a monk of the Temple of Zeus, and agent of the Padre. Items of business: 1. Pact of Secrecy - queried by Monsieur Jones, but confirmed by Brother Aquila. If he is correct, the Temple of Zeus would be keen to thwart this venture. All parties agreed to the pact, ratified by signature, witnessed by Monsieur Gallo. 2. Main item. Padre François proposed to lead an expedition to recover the weapon of Zeus that is believed to have landed on the island. Brother Aquila confirmed fears about the Temple of Zeus. All other parties expressed interest. 3. Padre François invited all parties to join the venture on behalf of their masters, promising significant rewards both financial and spiritual. 4. Monsieur Jones volunteered his services as a pioneer and soldier of fortune. Monsieur Duchamp demurred, but volunteered a platoon of d'Offren troops to support the expedition. Sergeant Carel volunteered his own platoon of Astrapi guards. This was queried by Monsieur Duchamp - it would leave one fort unguarded. However, it was agreed that Padre François' personal bodyguard would remain at the fort to provide a semblance of a presence. Brother Aquila also demurred on the basis that his absence from the Temple would likely be noticed, and could not easily be explained. 5. In light of this, Monsieur Jones was appointed the military commander of the expedition, while Padre François would be it's spiritual guide and overall leader. Monsieur Duchamp would be the point-of-liaison in Astrapi, while Brother Aquila would keep an eye on events in the Temple, and pass any notable information on. Other responsibilities were divided up, and a start date was agreed. 6. The venture was launched with a toast. 7. Further oaths of secrecy were given before the meeting was adjourned. Aaaaand here's a video to get you in the mood:
  3. As of now, the Padré has been promoted to an Abbé: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/163667-amrca-thunderstruck-the-hunt-for-zeus-lightning/&do=findComment&comment=3137768

Settlement: Astrapi, Île de Zeus, Oleon

I have built the Treasury of Hades the Harvester (AKA The Thunderdome) as my AMRCA outcome. This has also been licensed, and should provide an extra 50db trade value for the settlement.
  5. August 15, 619 - Astrapi, Île Zeus My brothers, It gives me pleasure to confirm that I have, today, presided over the consecration of a new Treasury of Hades the Harvester here in Astrapi. This citadel was erected on the instigation of Padré François, who has recently returned from the interior of the Île Zeus bearing the lightning bolt of Zeus himself. You will also remember that Padré François was accused, falsely, of burning at the stake the local priest, Father Sellefort. It seems that this individual was in fact a Promethean interloper and charlatan, who was keeping the real Father Sellefort captive. The Padré managed to right this wrong in the course of his quest. This is also the same Padré we have heard reports of from the distant Île d'Or. While there he overcame the native savages and banished their local demon, bringing the light of the Order into that dark isle. In recognition of these actions, I have also ordained François as an Abbé of the Order. He will be assigned the Brotherhood of Hades Inflamed. You will remember that this brotherhood had their Abbey on territory that was lost during the Juniper Wars, and have been resident in Granoleon ever since. Moving them out here will go some way to repairing the snub the Holy Father must feel at being denied the relic of his faith, and the fact that the Padré did not wait for his approval before immolating pseudo-Sellefort. I understand that, for now, the Brotherhood will stand guard over the Treasury, but may be called into action if the Abbé François requires them in future. With men such as these guarding the furthest reaches of civilised society, we may yet free the world from its burden of heresy. For the Underlord, Monsignor Orfeo @Bregir I am taking the "Build a temple" option. This will be licensed as a Medium Arts and Cultural property.
  6. If you don't find it, or don't want to drag your wife out, here it is on Bricklink https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=85970#T=S&C=1&O={"color":1,"iconly":0}
  7. Agreed. Don't forget though, you could also use these guys (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=99781#T=C) to add a half-stud worth of width. Might be worth investigating...
  8. We need conquest rules so that Oleon can go and assault Verona.
  9. *Your entry has earned 11XP* The Aryx ran wildly. Koh's pursuer was only just behind. The bird was faster, but the being had the power of the Force. And it was relentless in pursuit. Koh had no idea where to go. He had never been more than a day's ride from the homestead. All he knew was what the old lady said; "Don't let them get their hands on it." The cube glowed red in his hand. Just like his pursuer's blade. He couldn't hide in a settlement. Nothing good could happen there. And he couldn't outrun his pursuer for much longer. All he could hope was that somehow he would see a way to destroy the cube and divert his pursuer's attention. With grim realisation, he turned his mount towards the lava fields. Seed part was the palm tree trunk section, which I have used for the top of the pallisade wall, and for the thighs of the aryx. I had a lot of fun putting this together, and I'm very happy with the way the legs work in particular. The model isn't exactly "swooshable", but it can be held upside down without any movement, which is pretty satisfying. I hope you like it!
  10. I saw a couple of them, but I didn't realise there were so many! Here: https://www.bobkehl.com/ I can understand the scepticism. But what's the point of having it if you're not allowed to flaunt it?
  11. Has anyone seen Bob Kehl's pirate pin-up drawings? They're really good. I was kinda inspired to make this: Not exactly the standard CMF but I tried to represent all 4 factions.
  12. We were planning an AMRCA, but never got round to it. I might do my own storyline based on the work we've already done. If there are any more details you think we need to flesh out, let me know and I'll include them. I definitely saw them as something in this vein. Sat between other powerful nations, but with a rich culture and history all of their own. When we developed the GAS lore, it helped to imagine that the name was one given to them by the Halosians. The people referred to themselves Kolya's Folk or the Ghaskin Confederation. I imagine you would use the same consideration with the Middle Kingdoms, and make it a Sultanate or something similar.

    [COR - FB] Spudkirk Harbour

I do love the flag-stone courtyard. Very swish.
  14. Wait, are they yellowed bricks? I thought they might be, but I also figured they might be light tan or very light yellow. I love using knackered old bricks, so fair play if you managed it here.
  15. And risk the brotherhood of Poseidon or, worse, the priests of Zeus getting their hands on it? Never!
  16. True, but this is the weapon of the gods! I'm not going to mount it permanently on on the tiny escort that constitutes my entire fleet right now. Until I know I'm not going to to go bankrupt next month, I can't afford to shell out for a new ship.
  17. @Bregir Thanks for this! It's definitely going to be one of the first two options. I just have to see whether I can find the DBs (and the parts) to mount it on a decent ship. I'm assuming the temple would come free with the build?
  18. Have the prizes for all rounds been awarded? I know I didnt win anything, but I feel like I might have got some free builds out of this somehow...
  19. Chateau D'Ouennes is a medium fort just off the coast of Acropolis. It is inspired by the Chateau D'If from the Count of Monte Cristo, and the St Mary's Tower in Comino, which stood in for the real fort in the film. It will be functioning as a prison for heretics, criminals, political malcontents and debtors. If you'd like to imprison someone here, please let me know! I will be working this fort into the Padré's storyline, but only when his AMRCA is over. Interior: I am going to keep making changes to it, so comments are appreciated. @Kwatchi I've included Robin the cabin boy in that cage. It's only a small hop from Infero Pordejon, so it makes sense that he might end up here. Are you still ok with that?
  20. Are you able to help me transfer ownership @Bregir? @Capt Wolf?
  21. @Captain Dee it was good! I thought it was really well written and I got hooked. Kept looking forward to the next installment. I know a few writers online who have tailed off between episodes and left me hanging. So glad you didn't do that. My only worry is that you pushed Jay too far into "utter bastard" territory. I agree that it makes him more believable, but it makes the reconciliation between him and Olivia a little bit hard to swallow.
  22. @Ayrlego @Spud The Viking Good news everyone! @TheCubbScout is in, so we have an awesome foursome. If you DM me your email addresses, I'll kick things off.
  23. @Spud The Viking Hat accepted!
