    Picture frame as minifigure display

I could imagine a nice display them too. You can display only a few minifigs as well. Like this: I was collecting these minifigures from the beginning to display them this way. I've seen many similar good solutions on the web that inspired me to create my own. I like Star Wars too, but there are so many minifigs, that would be too expensive and frustrating to collect. Anyway, If I had a SW collection, I would definitely build a custom display stand for them. I found a good compromise with the LOTR line. They are not too many to collect and display on the wall. To be honest, The Avengers are still on my list. I could display them in a same picture frame with a nice background...

What is your favourite Lego Star Wars set ever?

    Definitely the UCS Millenium Falcon!

    [MOD] 7181 UCS TIE Interceptor

I think they tried to build in some colours, because they found the film version too "grayish"... Then they realized, that there's more attention to the original colours. However, these octagonal windscreen pieces look more spherical to me. The new TIE Fighter has some very clever building techniques, the lot of designing hours can be seen, I appreciate it. Still, overall I find the cockpit too angular. That's why I decided to build a TIE Interceptor based on the 7181 set.

It looks much better in my collection now! (There might be place for an X-wing too...)

The original one has about 700 parts, mine counts basically the same amount.

    [MOC] Skull's Eye Cutter

Well, I'm not satisfied completely with the area under the cannons as well, but there's isn't so much space as at the SES. It could be light grey too, but I wanted to put some red in it. I really like to see that bluecoats ship! Keep going!

Just a little update. I've modified the back of the ship. I've raised the window piece one plate higher. It looks more ergonomic now. In addition, I've noticed recently, that the rudder wasn't accurate on the latest photo, so I've corrected it. IMG_4993 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr IMG_5001 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr

Actually I owned it, because I used it as a donor to build this. I got it in an incomplete condition (no triangular sail, no big flag, broken nose mast, no cannons, no minifigs,...) for about 25 USD from an old schoolmate. To be honest, the colours don't match with my taste, so I didn't want to complete it at all (btw. the triangular sail is very rare and expensive). But I cleaned the items and put them together to feel the building once! Off course I made a shot! Then I sold the sails and the rest of the parts to buy the original main sail of the SES and some extra parts. You can see a before-after picture here: Összehasonlítás by Gyula Herr, on Flickr I think the shape of the nose looks much better with a little curve in it (I built in one 2x2 inverted slope 45) and the use of white plates and bricks give it and elegant look.

Nice collection and good use of colours at BSB retrofitting.

    [MOC] Skull's Eye Cutter

Thanks for your advise! Actually it's not so small, it was hard to find a place for it on the bookshelf! But in comparison with the giant ships on this forum, yes, it's a little ship. I've modifyied my first post and registered at Flickr, so I try to share my images again: The details: - Black, red and white bricks and extra cannons at the stern. IMG_4993 by Gyula Herr, on Flickr - Captain Redbeard with a parrot: IMG_4999 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr - Additional ladder to the stern. There are two barrels with equipments and a rat under the deck. IMG_5003 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr - The deck is mounted with a working shipwheel, a compass, a treasure map, a telescope and a sextant. IMG_5001 by Gyula Herr, on Flickr - I didn't like the original cannons with wheels, so I created a sliding mechanism for fixed movement. There was enough space to make containers for the cannonballs too. IMG_4996 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr - The biggest change was perfomed at the front. The nose is one brick higher, and the front mast goes up steeper. There is a skeleton as a front state. I completed the ship with a working anchor too. The idea of guns at the front deck came from the RR. They can be rotated due to a 1x1 round plate. IMG_5004 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr - The mechanism of the anchor is based on a reel under the arch brick at the front. The rope turns 90 degrees to the anchor through a built "screw". It allowed me to mount a gun holder there too. IMG_4995 másolat by Gyula Herr, on Flickr

Share Improvements on Original Sets to 'Complete' Them

Hi everyone, I'd like to share the improvements of my Renegade Runner. I can't afford to buy the SES, but I wanted to add some parts and minifigs to the RR, that can be seen on the SES. I didn't make big changes on construction, I wanted to stay at the original design. I look through some topics and building instructions of other LEGO ships for ideas. Here you can see the final result. First, I really missed the ship wheel. To get enough space, I had to broad the deck (remove the weapons from the back) and perform a 1x4 gap on it. I also added a map holder and a sextant to the wheel base (I'm going to change the 1x2 grey Technic brick to a black one later). I couldn't manage a real working wheel, because it needs more space to look nice as well. You can see two barrels with some equipments under the ladder. I changed the minifigures too. I wanted to have Captain Roger or Red Beard (with parrot), the rare first officer, a female pirate and a pirate with red/black stripes shirt (he's firing the cannon). Two lanters on the back. An additional deck on the front with a gun-holder and two small extra cannons. Anchor with reel (not sure that it's technically correct, but there was optimal space). You can see here the extra cannon too. A skeleton state with a sword under the front mast. The skeleton torso from the Fantasy era was preferable due to it's fixed arms. And finally, a monkey with a banana I hope it was useful to get some ideas for other ships. Thanks for stopped by.

My fleet is complete (Pic Heavy)

Really impressive job! My favourite ship is the one with black-white sails based on the Imperial Flagship (6271). What do you think, can the sails replaced with the Renegade Runner's and the Skull Eye Schooner's sails (triangular and irregular trapezoid from 6268 and big one from 6286)?
