It says "FREE Exclusive Diagon Alley Micro Build! Get it free with purchases over $99. Offer valid November 9-21, 2018". Other than the Bricktober packs (which was somewhat out of their hands), what's Lego messed up with the GWPs?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Considering last year's rumour was more or less the same, I'd not put any faith in it. -

I don't think it's odd to not see them in the modular buildings. They all have an early-20th century feel to them. TVs and computers wouldn't be expected in those. It's Town Hall -

What do you mean by "downgraded". As far as I can tell the sets are exactly the same as they would have been, with a relatively minor change to the naming convention. From my perspective, it looks like they've just changed the way sets are boxed from "A Marvel set from the Junior's line" to "a Junior's set from the Marvel line". -

The set both includes both a full set of power functions equipment (which accounts for $21) and large pieces. Both of these would affect the price. I doubt it's due to the plant-based parts. Lego wants them to be a success so increasing the cost of sets containing them wouldn't be beneficial. Plus, they just gave thousands of them away for free. -

I'm on the side of "not bothered about a GG re-release". I don't think it would be quite as popular as people expect. As a few other people have stated, the build techniques are not as complex as the more recent sets, and I much prefer the more recent sets with more detailed interiors. Besides, I would expect them to release a Cafe Corner set before GG. It's the original set and more iconic than GG. -
Lego is still being somewhat vague on Twitter about the packs (availability will vary based on country). If a decision had been made for it to definitely not be available in the UK, I imagine they would have just said as much. Until we hear definitively, I'll hold off on spending £45+ for it online. I imagine the price will drop as more regions have them available, even if it isn't released here.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Why on Earth would you think that? It'll be the biggest Marvel film of the year. There is no chance that they would ignore it. -

I expect we won't see any X-Men sets until the deal is complete. It'll likely be at least a year until any are released. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Not really. Although the paths take up more room, the majority of the "straight" modulars have space at the back, whereas the corners typically go up to the edge of the baseplate. Overall the area for the build is about the same. In fact, some of the corner buildings feel like they have a larger footprint than the straight ones. -

I wouldn't hold too much faith in it. People who order from LEGO said it was a service station this time last year as well. -
I think it's ITV

That's hardly surprising. Lego said it would be available there in the future, but they don't yet have a date. If the deal isn't finalised, or at least hasn't yet been publicised, it's doubtful that store employees would have been informed. If it was due to be there at the end of the month, it's still likely a lot of employees wouldn't know until the sets came into the stock room.

He's the most recent in a series that have the stands. I think it is the new standard for Star Wars polybags. -

I imagine it's like the other events they hold in stores. Normally they have a section where you can build a model and send it down a ramp. It's probably a Star Wars themed version. -

When I go on the US site it shows $50 as the price, but when downloaded it says $35 in the PDF version. I wonder if the price point for the GWP was changed, but they didn't update the thumbnail (or vice versa, and the PDF version is wrong). On the Canadian version (well, the French Canadian version), there is no mention of the GWP at all. But we can be sure it isn't the EU version, because it wouldn't be in dollars. As for whether it's "free". It is. They choose to give it to you with no additional payment when they receive your custom. You have the choice about whether you want to buy the Lego or not. It's how pretty much every GWP has worked. -
Official LEGO statement regarding Master Builder Series

This is another part I don't understand. If you don't like something, why buy it? It seems silly to spend hundreds on something you don't like just so you have all the toys in a particular range. -
It doesn't. As much as a lot of us consider sets like the Helicarrier as "close enough" that it may as well be UCS, Lego only ever uses the term to refer to Star Wars sets.

Official LEGO statement regarding Master Builder Series

The English language description definitely had it included from day one. We've been discussing a lot in the Cloud City thread. Also, at the end of the day, who cares? They could have decided on the new naming convention 2 years ago, or 2 weeks ago. The labelling is entirely arbitrary. It doesn't change what the set it. -

So are you suggesting that Lego made up this new designation, but didn't bother to come up with the definition for it for a couple of weeks? A marketing department wouldn't come up with a term like that, include it in a new press release and then take a little while to decide what they were talking about. I'm also still confused about what you mean by "shady". Typically I would take that to mean that they're being dishonest in some way, but I don't see how that can be the case. -

Of course it won't. The moaning will just change to "there used to be 2 UCS sets every year, but now they're wasting a slot on MBS". I'm glad to see the assumption we all made is correct. It's nice to have the playsets in a slightly different category, if only to appease the people who always moan about what defines a UCS set. -

That's what I'm hoping for. Small scale versions of the ships, but with less of the cartoonishness / caricature style of the Micro Fighters. -

nikhkin replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Same here. These could be some great, smaller scale ships with nice minifigs. Plus, Junior's sets are known for their lack of stickers. That means we could get some prints that will be useful for modifying or MOCing larger versions of the ships. -
In that case, do you have any additional inside information you could share with us? We're all suspicious of someone claiming to have information from a vague source, but we don't know if he's just making stuff up. This is why people are saying to take it with a grain of salt. We can still listen to what he said and be curious about the possibility of it being a real set. I think it's been a good wave for new animal moulds. Personally, I'd rather have a mix of brick-built bodies with moulds where needed (for heads / wings etc), as long as the rest of the creature is recognisable. I think they've done a good job of making sure things are recognisable for most of them.
