It can be any time between now and the day it's officially announced (which can be as late as the day before release with some sets!) At this point I don't think we actually have any concrete evidence that there is a new one coming out, beyond the fact that they typically release one each year. -

I don't think the designers can be held responsible for that. They decide on what they want to be shown, but higher ups will have final say on printing vs stickers. -
Or they are just updating an old, but well selling set. It disappeared from shelves around a year ago, now it is returning to shelves. The statement that "it's back" makes it clear that it is a returning product, and helps avoid confusion to those who read the catalogue but weren't sure if it was out of stock, retired or something else.

Is there any word on international pricing yet? Also, does anyone know if those double points will be anywhere other than the US? If they are then what's the point in buying it during the VIP period?

Direct to Consumer - basically a set sold directly from Lego rather than going to all the toy shops and supermarkets. They do tend to show up at big retailers like Smyth's and Toys R Us (in the UK) but won't be at supermarkets or Argos etc (again, in the UK). -
That update changed the eyes to have pupils. That's just a slight change in the print process. They didn't change the actual parts used to make those figures. The new version will need the new Darth Vader helmet and far superior looking hair for Luke (I think going with the shoulder length female hair piece in the old one was a huge mistake).

I am hoping it isn't more than £400, but I get the feeling it's wishful thinking People keep saying it is lazy, but it's almost certain that Lego never wanted to retire the set, so they updated the minifigures and modified the build to account for pieces that were not produced any more. It's not laziness, it's the simplest way for them to continue selling it without incurring the costs of developing a new set. It's a good business plan.

The majority of the negativity is linked to the fact the set retired less than a year ago, so it seems like they're just jacking up the price. If Lego wants to re-release MF, they will. I personally don't want them to, as I don't think it looks very good.

The roof is supposed to be a facade - inspired by the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. If you look at that in real life you'll see that the actual roof is just a grey slab. I agree about the limo. It's just a bad build -

The capital ships haven't been done, but many of them would be challenging. We haven't seen all aspects of Tatooine, but most major locations have been covered at some point. -

And the Town Hall. I don't see what people have against her. People complain the current modulars are too small, because they put too many pieces on the inside. Hers were both the bridge between "almost completely empty" and "loads of detail inside". So they maintain the large structure whilst having some decent level of detail. Personally I love the little details in the newer ones and the apparently smaller size doesn't bother me. If it can stand next to the others and not look odd, it's big enough. -

It doesn't work that way. Sets can be retired at any time. It isn't a one-in-one-out kind of thing. Pet Shop has been around the longest, and is older than the Town Hall, which retired back in 2014 IIRC. However I do not think any modulars have retired since then. Edit: I could be wrong about the order of retirement, as Grand Emporium retired sometime around then too -

Where did you manage to get it cheap? I know Lego never put sets on sale unless it's something that isn't selling and has been retired This time last year it was "an 80s style arcade" (what a terrible idea to go with the early 20th century style of the street they've been making so far). The Brick Bank info didn't come out until October/November time. -
I understand that it is him, but I was more referring to the idea that he would have a "live action" minifig style rather than a "Clone Wars" style minifigure. His appearance in TPM is hardly worthy of a minifigure, and he only got an action figure because pretty much every background character has had an action figure at some point.

"because the Storm Troopers are all clones..." I know they aren't, but that's probably why they do it. I think I actually preferred it when they used the black, featureless heads as you didn't get a patch of yellow showing at the back. It's very rare for me to remove the helmet of a Storm Trooper so I'd prefer a better look with the helmet on.

People seem to be talking about a re-released version, like the Death Star. I don't want one that is essentially the same. I'm also satisfied enough with the smaller versions they release for around £100 to not feel an urgent need for a much larger version. -
It won't. Even if it doesn't sell well, it's not costing Lego much.

Tbh I don't want them to do a Falcon, I don't think the old one looks very good - the top surface looks too busy. I'd like to see a smaller scale Star Destroyer than the last one. I love USC sets, but could never fit a 3 foot long Star Destroyer anywhere.
