I see where you're coming from, and agree with the sentiment, but that's not a convincing argument. Microfighters, constraction figures, and to a certain extent battle packs aren't true sets in many of our eyes, and even if they were, most of them would be considered repeats of normal sets. That means 4/8, or 50% of the normal sets are repeats. I don't mind repeat sets too much, although like anyone I'd prefer new ones. Skipping them allows me to save money and buy the other sets I do want. As others have said though, TLG's selection of sets to be redone makes little sense, even from a commercial standpoint. Thrawn's torso somewhat annoys me, but it doesn't ruin the figure by any means. I'm a sucker for imperial uniforms of any kind. Doesn't surprise me - General Veers' insignia was wrong for years until it was corrected in the most recent AT-AT. Is there a chance the designers were working off concept art that was wrong? Look at the picture on this page: https://www.google.com/amp/comicbook.com/starwars/amp/2016/09/24/star-wars-rebels-showrunner-really-surprised-what-thrawn-means-t/

I guess TLG wanted to balance it out - since the last wave was so heavily Imperial, this wave will be mostly rebels. Bunker, Phantom, and battle packs for me. I already have A-wings, landspeeders, a skiff, and a Y-wing, so not particularly interested, although they look nice. I do want Moroff and Admiral Raddus, so if they're too expensive on Bricklink I may get the Y-wing, but hopefully not. It amazes me how little the landspeeder has changed - the one in the cantina and the one prior probably have all but 10 parts in common excluding color change. Are death gang and quadjumper part of the summer wave? Interested in those.

Your guess makes the most sense. I'm still hoping for some shoretroopers, although I assume TLG just wants to force us to buy the bunker for them. There's still a chance it'll be something random like the shadow troopers battle pack. The only other semi-logical things I'm coming up with are Imperial Navy Troopers and Rebel Fleet Troopers.

I'll be getting a lot of imperial battlepacks, along with the bunker battle. I don't really want that Y-wing as I have the last one, but I assume it would be cheaper to buy the set than to get Raddus and Moroff alone. Aren't there 3 known ranks of shoretroopers? If the one in the Striker is an officer and the two in the bunker are normal, aren't we missing one more variant?

    Misleading Lego Play Features

Another one is Vader's meditation room on the old Star Destroyer - his meditation chamber was on the Executor, not on a normal star destroyer (although I suppose you could argue multiple ships could have them). The Emperor's shuttle set having the Vader transformation is inaccurate as well - the transformation took place on Coruscant. I don't remember, but I don't think the Sith nightspeeder is supposed to split up like that. The Tantive IV escape pods aren't actually supposed to be where they are. Some jedi spacecraft have inaccurate ejection functions as well. The Republic Cruiser had a lone clone pilot in a tiny cockpit. There are a lot of little differences, but they don't really bother me much. Truthfully, I much prefer the Republic Gunship with troopers in those turrets - otherwise it's just wasted space. I don't understand why they were that way in the movies in the first place; if you don't have a gunner, why do they need to be big balls?

Nice scene! I prefer the gray too, although a version with some dark tan might look OK.

In the imperial battlepack, how many minifigures does the walker hold?

I just finished building Krennic's shuttle today, and I like it much more than I thought. The minifigures are as great, and it looks quite impressive when done. I don't care much for the undersides of the wings, but otherwise the outside is great (that seems to be a problem with all of the shuttles, though). I agree, the inside could use work, but the exterior has really grown on me.

I already have the 10188 Death Star, so I have no interest in getting the new one, but I am interested in the 3 new Imperial officers: SW770, SW774, and SW775. Right now they are very expensive on Bricklink, around $25 each. How long will it take them to go down in price, and how far will they drop?

I understand it's too hard to look back several pages, but someone asked that 5 posts up. Anyway, could be Dodonna as well, but no one really seems to know.

Just finished building the AT-ST and Hovertank today - both are very nice. I'm not entirely sold on the AT-ST's legs - they seem too wide, but maybe that's just a natural consequence of the larger overall size - but otherwise both sets are near flawless. I definitely will be getting the rest soon. Wasn't originally planning on getting U-wing, but it looks so nice and has such nice minifigures I don't think I'll be able to resist. I certainly agree that this is the best wave in a long time - I only got 2 TFA sets initially, for comparison.

Is there anything from the OT that has not been built?

The only ones I can think of that haven't been done to a high standard by TLG are the Lars homestead, Ben Kenobi's house, Yavin 4 base (though that unreleased model they made looks pretty cool), Dagobah (we got one with yellow people way back, but no cave), Cloud City (back in the days of yellow people), TIE bomber (blue wings), the medical frigate, TIE interceptor (blue wings again), and mon calamari cruisers (we got home one, but only the interior). There are MOCs of all of those, though, except for maybe Kenobi's house, but there isn't much to do anyway.

    Chrome Minifigs?

I've never understood the reasoning that the chrome chips more easily - I feel like the newer lightsaber hilts that are not chrome just dull in color and chip much more easily than the old chrome.

I wouldn't say they suck, but I do agree they aren't as good. Kylo's shuttle was the wrong color and didn't have proper wings, the snowspeeder barely appeared in the movie, Takodana has no interior, recolor of a flawed X-wing, etc. The Rogue One sets aren't perfect, but the tank is no clunkier than the FO transporter, the updated AT-ST is something people have wanted for years, the TIE seems pretty accurate, the U-wing seems to have moving wings and a good troop bay, and Krennic's shuttle is the right color and looks relatively sleek.

I'm more of an Imperial fan, so I won't get the U-wing. I guess I'm in the minority, but I think the AT-ST is ugly, so although I'll probably get it eventually just for completion and for the figures, I won't be picking that up on Force Friday. The other three I plan to get Force Friday.

Someone posted a picture a few pages back, but it looks like he represents one of the officers that walks by in the Death Star while Han and Luke disguised as stormtroopers wait for the elevator/turbolift. Only problem is that guy didn't have sideburns.

Nah, that gray officer is definitely not Trech Molock. Molock has a rank plaque with 6 red squares - I can't quite tell from these pictures, but I'm 99% certain that's not the same as the minifigure. The minifigure looks like he has 2 red and 4 yellow (read left to right), which doesn't match any of the officers in the conference room. There are a lot of random officers he could be, though. I would have preferred a Motti or Tagge, but any new imperial officer is exciting for me.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

The only things that interest me there are the imperial officers - I'll definitely be getting a Tarkin, and that black-uniformed one too. I'm curious about that one in the council chamber, though. His tunic is the color of an imperial crewman, but there's a little dark patch that might be a rank badge. It looks like he has sideburns too - that would lead me to believe it's Bast or Tagge, but there's a hat too, and none of the officers wore hats in the council scene (although Bast is seen in one later). Oh, and thank you Brickdoctor for clearing that up. I'm just glad the thread is back open.

I mean, if that's the case I understand, but they didn't ban discussion of the rogue one sets - despite them being actually new. I'd just like them to tell us.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Don't they normally leave a message explaining what happened? The last page or so is pretty free of off-topic comments, leaks, or true incivility, so the reason isn't too obvious here. And since when is negativity prohibited? I'd just like a mod to tell us what happened so this doesn't seem so draconian on the surface.

I'm a big fan of the old death star, but I got it six years or so ago, when it was semi-current. My only problem with the build was the high number of exposed studs on the outside - although it is a good approximation of a sphere, it could easily be just a tiny bit more sleek with the addition of a few slopes on the skeleton while still preserving the lego feel. Assuming the reports are accurate and the new one is near the same, I'll just bricklink a few pieces to make the few topical changes the update has. The minifigure lineup isn't particularly appealing to me - I have decent versions of all the main characters already, and I already plan to do some imperial army-building with the battlepacks. If there were new named imperials, like Tagge or Motti, the update would be more exciting, but I assume the minifigure updates will be uninteresting (except maybe for Tarkin). I guess I'm sort of relieved - now I can focus my efforts on Rogue One and stormtrooper army-building instead.

    MOC] TIE/tb Torpedo Bomber

I like it! I can't compare it to the source, but it certainly looks cool. The wing looks very nice - if you'd made it out of plates the way most sets do, it wouldn't look half as good.

Ah, but remember how E.T. says "Home! Home!" when he sees a child in a Yoda mask? That would suggest that E.T. was acquainted with members of Yoda's species back home. Also, the Asogians (the Star Wars E.T. species) funded an expedition to another galaxy, which could be ours. The only problem is that Star Wars takes place "a long time ago." (Obviously I understand the silliness of this argument, but it's fun )

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

Are we certain the minifigure information is complete? It seems likely to me that the source didn't remember all the figures, so we might be getting a few that aren't listed. I have to believe we'll get Yoda's hut with a luke minifigure for example, so maybe Joebiwan's hunch is right, and maybe we'll get Padme too.

^Yeah, shuttle Tyderium is great, would highly recommend. The only problem for your purposes is although it is an imperial ship, it comes with rebel soldiers, but if you have enough loose imperials for a crew then it's the best.
