Nice! Although I'd think for a purchase like that, you'd be better off waiting a few more days for double VIP points.

Is it common for LEGO to reduce prices on Star Wars sets during the month of May (or at least during those three days specified for the promo)? If so, how much are we talking? Examples of past promotions/deals would be great. This is all new to me.

Noted. Thanks for the info, and for sharing that site.

Love the Olivia cameo. :P

Yeah, I just had a look at some renders of Starscream and the robot form looks wonky to me. The Kreon minifigs look appealing, though. Will keep an eye out for those.

More drops on Rancor Pit? $35-$39 is the lowest I've seen it for and at that price I still couldn't justify a purchase, so good for those who've found it for significantly less.

Confession thread: How many PAB cups have you spilled at a LEGO Store?

haha! Cue the swarm! Considering I just laughed while reading this, I'm kind of glad I wasn't there. I just pictured a ton of parts showering the poor kid.- 31 replies

That's concerning. You did the right thing by not standing for it and taking your business elsewhere. Perhaps you leaving your stuff behind gave the manager something to think about afterwards. Great that the other store was much more flexible, but poor CS on the part of that manager. Very short-sighted, too, as in the long run you may think twice about shopping at that location or making multiple purchases over a single transaction. Thanks for sharing. It's refreshing to know that some TLS employees are willing to do this.

What is your take on the Kre-O Transformers sets you've tried? I've been curious about them but not enough to make a purchase.
-
Same here. Hopefully they invent one down the line.

Originally I didn't take much of a liking to any one Mixel among the Electroids tribe. But seeing the Max combination has suddenly made me want to get all three. Strange.

Nice. The value of this set seems easy to justify, given all that's included. The ladders are a bit odd, but I can't call it a lazy substitute seeing as it's designed to be an accessible, non-complex build. You're right in saying that the colour should've been more appropriate, though.

Seems that way, yeah.

Thanks for sharing your review. The station isn't for me, but I can see why younger builders would have fun with the set. That pop-out window is one of the more neat features. Look forward to your videos on the other two Junior sets you picked up.

Bat Strike's minifig does look attractive, but given the way the build is, it looks I won't be picking that one up anytime soon.

Thank you for sharing! These seem like well-priced offerings and after seeing these pics, I'm definitely interested in getting at least one. Great to know there's not a long wait before these arrive. Look forward to hearing more in the coming weeks.

Will need to inspect the larger sets in more detail, but I'd definitely be down for collecting some of the characters at the very least. Mr. Krabs seems a bit...off to me, though. As does Squidward — he seems bulky, but that probably has to do with the template they use. I don't really have a right to be disappointed about there being no more LEGO-based SpongeBob sets, seeing as I wasn't into LEGO when they were introduced. If given the opportunity, I'd see about grabbing the older ones (3818 Undersea Party has caught my eye). But for now, I'm glad there's this to look forward to. Yes, I believe you did. Wish she was featured as a blind bag, though, as I'm not too eager about the pack.

Glorious. Thank you! The Toxikita set is new to me, and I have a feeling Infearno Interception will be my first purchase. At this point, I need the most convincing on Hurricane Heist.

For some reason, I initially read this as 'masochist.' You can tell I'm new too!

Greetings, I don't have a great deal to say, just that I'm pleased to be slowly immersing myself in the LEGO community after being on the outskirts. I think more than 2014's promising new sets, it's the warmth of the community that has brought me back after a long hiatus (though in truth, LEGO wasn't as strong of a pillar during my childhood as others). As a young AFOL (YAFOL?), I look forward to learning more about and growing with what is becoming, for me, a creative, relaxing and satisfying hobby. At present, I'm looking to write/blog about LEGO and share my growing appreciation as I go about my journey, hence why my first post was a request to join the Reviewers Academy. ...and I think that's about it for now. If anyone has any advice to pass on with respect to integrating myself in the community further, AFOL quirks or anything else that you're open to sharing, I'm very willing to listen. :) Oh, and who else is excited for the Ultra Agents sets? :D

That's fair. Thanks for your reply. I've been lurking these parts for a while, but this thread motivated me to sign up officially. Hopefully I can work myself into the community comfortably. :)

I would like to join as well, if possible. Very interested in this.
