Sorry, Tytus, I had to convert your picture to a link. 800x600 pixels is the maximum size allowed on Eurobricks. If you resize the picture, feel free to edit your post to put the smaller picture in.

And Welcome to EB!

Sorry, understandable! And thanks!

Local TRU didn't have any in, but the clerk told me there were 18,000 of them in their warehouse. Don't think I want that many.

18,000 boxes = 54000 Graduates... SOLD!

Individual packs, not boxes.

Okay, that makes 900 Graduates up for grabs. I don't think I'd want that many, unless I was building an entire university.

I'm still thinking between getting a full box of these and trying to weight them, or trying my luck with bricklink and just ordering the ones i'm missing..

I've started with a guide on how to feel for the figures inside the Series 5 blind packs. 12 out of 16 figures covered so far. Please check it out and give me feedback: A Series 5 Feel Guide

Stopped in Five Below in Butler, PA, USA today looking for Transformers and found this wonderful surprise instead!

http://i54.tinypic.com/9zq87a.jpg

I got some looks because I was standing there so long feeling them all up, but it seemed as though no one had bought any from this box yet. Located all three Gladiators and Dwarves at least.

Check out your local Five Belows!

Thanks for the heads up! I just headed out and managed to get all that I wanted except 1. I got an exercise girl instead of the detective :hmpf_bad:.

Just an update, after spotting these at one Five Below this weekend I stopped at another local one after work. They had SIX BOXES up by the register!

... so I'm just gonna assume she meant two boxes of Series 5 are on their way.

I'm sure she saw something like "2 boxes of 60 units" and did good 'ole American High School math. (sorry; yes, I'm an American and a public high school graduate).

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can order a case in the U.S. without markup (or even a discount).

If it was somewhere in this thread then I must have missed it (I do recall seeing some that were over MSRP).

I'm not nearly as anxious as I was with the second and third series... my LEGO store still has S3 and S4 still available, but while I think series 5 is awesome, I just don't feel like standing in the store feeling up packets. I'd rather sit back with a beer and feel up minifigures while watching porn The Simpsons in the comfort of my own living room.

Waiting anxiously for the official release for this part of the world. Going to hit here next month though. :sweet:

Finally got myself a box of S5 figures (minus the box), and the distribution is exactly the same as in the review.

The website has been updated, and it contains lots of fun in-jokes, as usual (for example, the gangster's profile speaks to many an AFOL's woes: "The problem with being a no-good criminal in LEGO CITY is that the place is just chock full of police stations. You can hardly turn a corner without running into a friendly officer or three out on patrol." Also, the detective is said to have solved the "Mystery of Timmy's Nose.").

I got quite a good deal at a local toy shop yesterday and bought 6 for a start: Got the zookeeper, royal guard, detective, cavewoman , snowboarder and kid clown. I had the lady at the till choose them, and she was lucky - no doubles! Now for the remaining 10...

I'm starting to think that Series 5 will be the last series I collect. The number of duplicates I've found is getting fairly frustrating. Even the "feel" method doesn't seem to work all the time. (Of course that could be just me).

I'm thinking of creating an exchange where people can send in their duplicate minifigures, receive a credit in return and then exchange that credit for a minifigure they're looking for. Rather then trying to find someone who has what you are looking for and vice versa, it would operate as a central repository.

Hmm, now if only I wasn't working 60 hours a week, I might have time to put this together.

Anyone think this might be a good idea, or just a waste of time?

That would be awesome, and I wouldn't mind helping to build it.

I'm surprised at the responses saying people had trouble feeling this series out... I might argue the opposite, as I've never had such an easy time ID'ing the individual figs through the bags before. I've gotten 14 at this point, and the only multiples I have are three dwarves, which was obviously entirely intentional.

The way I look at it is this-- you need to have a little patience and a little time, hopefully have either a.)a clear view of the top of a box with all figs in clear sight, or b.) a pic of the entire series on your phone to visualize what you're feeling at any given time. My method is simple, I pick it up, and if I can't get a clear idea of what I'm holding within 10 seconds, I put it down and move onto the next one.

What surprised me the most about this series is the Lizard Man-- I expected him to be the easiest, actually, when in truth the tail is much slimmer and smaller than I expected. The head is also smaller than you'd think. In terms of size, the Royal Guard's hat is HUGE, and both the Eskimo's hood and the dwarf beard/hair assembly are big enough to stand out from the rest.

Fantastic series so far........ I'm certainly eager to get the four I am missing!

I'd LOVE that! I got some spares from series #1-#4 and few still missing, some i wan't more..

Soon gonna have a ton of #5 extras (asap my local real (not a TRU or anything) toy store contacts me back).

The Toys R Us in Tigard, OR said they could only find one box but their system showed 240 in stock. They also told me a limit of 5 per person to give everyone a fair chance. Whatever happen to early bird catches the worm?

The Dwarf is especially easy to locate. If you feel a big squishy thing, you've got him. I've found the Cavewoman to be the most difficult to identify.

I went through the entire open box at Five Below, even though I found everything I wanted. Might be I'm a tad OCD =|

On another note, what stores in the US might still have leftover Series 3? Just really out of the way TRUs?

Surely you mixed those up? The dwarf has no squishy parts, unlike the cavewoman with her hair, which makes her one of the most easily identifiable figs.
