Alternatives to the A and B versions of 8052 Container Truck

Recommended Posts

Nice just finished building it. Only thing I changed is replacing 3 long axle with 5 long, where LA is mounted to platform. My son is playing with it right now, so we'll see how sturdy it is :)

I have never seen anything that stupid with LEGO Technic. Thank you DLuders. :classic:

This video is a good example of a bad idea going to its worst!

I would never let fire or extreme heat go near to my lego-stuff.

If you listen closely you can hear the "filmmaker" saying "OH S**T" in slowmotion!

Serves him right i would say!

And he probably didn't pay attention in "Firefighting 101": never put water on a oil based fire!!!!! :cry_sad:

Let me take the freedom of hijacking this topic to propose another alternative model of this set: my own :P

Do I see two light bluish grey 16t gears behind the black 20t double bevel?

 8052 is known for its lack of gears, but adding any parts to the model does not make it alternate anymore.

it's not a one set moc. It's an addition to the original set to expand the model. The picture shows that pretty obviously, as it clearly shows "[picture of 8052] + [picture of trailer]". Similar to when sets to [set number] + [motor set number]. It's not meant to be an alternate model. It's just a trailer to put behind the original 8052.

I'm building a car out of it, using nothing but this pieces. Since it is my first MOC after a LONG time, it might take a while to finish.

@ Tomik: Your instructions are very clear and well-made. Thanks for sharing them!

I have compiled all 50 pages of his 8052 alternate's Building Instructions into one 4.2-MB PDF file -- download it here via MegaUpload SkyDrive.
