From the link: LEGO is Britain’s favourite toy and this collection is perfect for Christmas. We’ll also be giving you a carry case, playmate and LEGO stickers too. You’ll be able to pick up the toys each day from Woolworths and Early Learning Centre stores or apply by post and get the whole set before Christmas. See the paper for full details. But even then I think it will cost a lot per "free" set.

I guess newspapers shouldn't be that expensive... and a single shipment with all the mini sets shouldn't weigh that much, so it shouldn't cost a fortune... or at least I guess so.... chris_austin Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) I was very excited to read about this in the newspaper at work lastnight (Wednesday edition). The mini sets look quite cool from what i've seen so far - a mixture of Town/City and Creator. Hope there's a castle one in there too! Here are the pics: I'll try to get multiple copies incase any fellow Eurobrickers would like to get any of the sets The newspaper costs £0.40 so 12 sets would cost £4.80 if this helps anyone who's thinking of getting them. Edit: The Saturday and Sunday newspaper costs a bit more. Edited October 16, 2008 by chris_austin
DJ Force Posted October 16, 2008 Well, if a Castles set (or even ExoForce, although I seriously doubt that) is in there, I might be very interested in that offer, chris_austin
brickzone Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) Wonder if RoI folk can avail of this... (by mail that is - no Woolies here, and ELC here don't stock Lego) Not familiar with the tabloids, so I don't really know if Daily Mirror is stocked here or has an "Irish" edition. EDIT: yep, they have an "Irish Daily Mirror" so it probably doesn't have the giveaway. Will have a look in the local shop. EDIT: No mention of anything like this on the front page of the Irish Daily Mirror in the local shop this morning. WhiteFang Posted October 16, 2008 It's defintely one of the CITY 2008 impulse set series which was not released earlier with this leak images. Oh my gosh, I need to lay my hands on these sets.... UK is so lucky to have such nice exclusive small polybag sets. How about other regions?
brickzone Posted October 16, 2008 GREAT NEWS! The promotion is running in the Republic of Ireland also, I received confirmation by email. The sets can be collected from Smyth's Toys, or by post. I presume it is the Irish Daily Mirror running the promotion here, rather than the ordinary UK edition of Daily Mirror (although the response I received by email merely indicated "Daily Mirror"). WhiteFang Posted October 16, 2008 I need to find a way to get hold of these sets somehow, instead of getting it through Bricklink or eBay. Sigh...
Zorro Posted October 16, 2008 I need to find a way to get hold of these sets somehow, instead of getting it through Bricklink or eBay. Sigh... Agreed...I thought the sets would be more like the sets McDonalds offered...but they are WAY better then those...

Stash2Sixx Posted October 16, 2008 I'd be willing to bet that one is a castle set, maybe even a skeleton with a catapult.
brickzone Posted October 16, 2008 Unfortunately, no castle set. And indeed just 5 with minifigs. Still pretty awesome for a giveaway. Full list of sets, with instructions downloadable, here.
Dennimator Posted October 17, 2008 Wow! I wish they had things like this in Sweden too... Does anyone want to trade/sell a bike, lion, triceratops, bi-plane, police car and whale? Don´t answer me here, I´ll put a post in the Buy and Sell forum. (Mods/admins, I´m not sure if it´s okay to write like this, if not, feel free to remove the text.) Best regards Dennimator

I've been wondering what the sets are going to be , never thought of checking back on their site. Thanks for the update, there's a nice little mix of sets there. My newspaper recycling bin may get rather full over the next couple of weeks.

brickzone Posted October 17, 2008 There was an ad on most of a page of today's edition of the Irish Daily Mirror. So I'll definitely be participating, although it seems it will run every day for 12 days, with you having to collect the set from Smyth's each day. That will be tricky (esp without paying extra for transport). So I might go for the option of collecting the 7 vouchers and posting in (although perhaps there's a fee that way). I'm a bit wary though as there was a DVD giveaway that someone in my family posted off for (having collected tokens from the newspapers) and they have not yet received anything a couple of months later. DarthPineapple Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) Hey brickbitz, I sent you a PM yesterday about the Coast Guard bike and the Mini Digger I'm interested in and saw you were online some time, have you read it? If so, could you please answer me? I would really love to get these sets. Thanks! Edited October 18, 2008 by DarthPineapple
Wout Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) Cool!, You buy a little legoset and you get a free paper with it. It's defintely one of the CITY 2008 impulse set series which was not released earlier with this leak images. Oh my gosh, I need to lay my hands on these sets.... UK is so lucky to have such nice exclusive small polybag sets. How about other regions? I got 3 times the lime green tiny turbo's in some action with little cookies. Where you also maybe could get the creator red dinosaur (nice pieces) or another little set. About this new orange Motorbike, He's also put in the biggest Powerminers set of next year (with the catapult to flew the crystal addicts) Edited October 18, 2008 by Wout
DarthPineapple Posted October 18, 2008 About this new orange Motorbike, He's also put in the biggest Powerminers set of next year (with the catapult to flew the crystal addicts) Yea, but I get this set whatsoever, because: 1. I love orange. 2. I love Lego motorbikes. 3. I love Coast Guard 4. I dislike Power Miners. 5. I don't have money for such a big Power Miners set I don't like.
