Nodding in agreement Ezeran too inhaled a Smelling Salts and took a big sip from the mulled wine he had in a flask in his satchel. "That was oddly refreshing, let's go!"

"Alright, this way, please," Galedo mumbles as he takes the Heroes with him. They leave the garden and go to the grand front door. There, Galedo knocks. A few moments go by. Finally another servant comes. "These Heroes are here to talk with Calder." The second servant nods her head and retreats inside. Five minutes go by.

Then ten.

Fifteen.

Finally, a few figures emerge: a wizard, a Pongancis, and a few bodyguards.

"My grandfather is busy at the moment, so I'm here to talk," Jeremiah Den announces. He looks at Vindsval, "Wait, I've seen you. You were with some of the group we hired to grab the golden lotus." He casts his eyes to the other Heroes. "Something tells me you are not here looking for jobs."

Vindsval closes his hand into a fist and presses it to his shoulder.  With a slight bow he greets the wizard.

Your memory serves you well and gives honor to my name Master Jeremiah of the House of Den.  I am Vindsval, Scorpion Knight, Hand of the Wanderer, and I was indeed part of the party tasked with bringing the fabled Lotus to you and your House.  I had hoped that my service in that matter would aid me in being granted an audience with your grandfather, the great Head of the House of Den.  It is to him that I and my retinue have travelled here to speak.  I mean no disrespect to yourself I assure you.

While I don't mean to make you feel belittled, my grandfather has important studies to do, he's on the verge of something remarkable. I hope you understand he won't talk. I feel only that it is a delicate matter.  I have heard tell that there is a group of men hired to destroy the Lotus and all things associated with it, for fear that the elder Den has been using it to perform inhuman rites.  I hoped to reach your grandfather quickly to discuss this with him.

The word that has reached my ears is that there are those upon the island who have fear for their freedom.  The word upon the road is that your Grandfather seeks immortality at any cost, and if his humanity and the utter subjugation of the people are the costs of that boon than he would not hesitate.

"Bah!" Jeremiah snorts. "Tridentians, I assume? You know them, you were there grabbing the lotus for us. They're reasonably unintelligent and could barely handle themselves against a few raiders. My grandfather and I are not worried by them, though they are a major pain in our sides. We took the lotus for our family, and we can do what we please with it. Are you offering your services to us agains them? How interesting would that be? People they had contracted a few times going after them. What a show. If you are not offering your services, then I thank you for yout information, but you might be forced off of our property."

Jeremiah sticks his staff in the ground and leans in closer to the Heroes. "But If I may say, my grandfather, the great Calder is so close to discovering immortality, and not the kind Heroes use. True immortality. The kind that will raise us out of the ashes to dominate. Humans, orcs, elves, anyone. Anyone with a bit of magic could be able to tap into this, for a price of course. We could shape this world to be for those who truly deserve it."

unsure how far this Path will take them Vindsval continues to play to the Den.

It would indeed be an interesting twist to the Path to be turned against those whom I have had a hand in protecting.  It would take much to turn my conscious to such an act.  What would the great house of Den be willing to offer?

At the mention of world domination The Giants eyes flash, he shakes his head to clear them.

The power to shape the world.  Enticing power indeed.  You do know that there are those who would oppose such an action.   Who would you deem worthy to share your position?
