Davidz90 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) Apparently this is gonna be some sort of limited set, with only 250 made Rims seem 3-D printed. Edited Sunday at 11:26 AM by Davidz90 Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Well, that's odd! Looks nice, a lot like a MOC. I'd agree that those rims look 3D printed, which makes a lot of sense at the limited run they're doing 3 minutes ago, mahjqa said: That base layer is a tremendous waste of parts. Yeah, but I guess normal considerations don't matter for a 250-unit run Quote

Antique cars are rare in real life, so let's make it rare in lego form as well? I guess.. It's cool though, the 3d printed part is odd, but would make sense for a limited run. Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Cool. This has working v16 engine. I think this has the longest engine:). Quote

Yeah, it's really puzzling. They make an interesting car for once, and it's basically unobtainable... Quote
Stereo Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Hopefully the black version of the Model T tires don't stay exclusive to this set, if that's the size they are. Quote

I'm expecting them to be featured on the front wheels of a Ferguson TE20 tractor (larger than 4000025!) which could be a potential new set for the late 2020s! And let's hope the instructions will be publicly available in PDF for those who want to replicate it! Quote

It is said that the Bugatti Tourbillon is limited to 250 units. This matches the limited quantity of this set, so it might be a set given as a gift when purchasing the actual Tourbillon car. If this is true, the chances of most members of this forum getting their hands on this set are extremely low. Edited May 3 by msk6003 Quote
R0Sch Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) The set number is 4000048 and it's for sure the Inside Tour set of 2026. They usually run 10 tours each year for their high paying VIP superfans and they get a limited set at the end to keep or resell at horrendous prices afterwards. The SLS printing used here is to show off at what they can do with the 3D printing machines they use, similar to the duck, pogo stick or steam engine they did before. Edited May 3 by R0Sch Quote
COPERNICON Posted May 3 Posted May 3 the bugatti 35 was produced between 1924-1930 (if Wikipedia is to be believed) so it could be a 100y/o anniversary thing the rims seem to be common on these cars, tbh, the use of SLS 3D printed parts makes sense for this small run still, an absolute shame that lego is making this a exclusive set Quote

Types 35 won over 1000 races... Quote
julesvincent Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) It is definetly not this years Inside Tour set. This will have set number 4000049. the Bugaitti has nothing to do with the LEGO Group (like all of the other previous Inside Tour sets). Edited May 4 by julesvincent Quote

Then it's maybe for the upcoming 2026 International Bugatti Meeting which will take place in June in Denmark. Quote
Davidz90 Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 Let's hope building instructions and parts list will become available online. Or maybe I'll try to reverse-engineer it myself. Model T rims painted silver should work decent enough, I think. The body color is dark azure, yes? Quote

Better FDM 3D-print the rims and paint those. Quote

You might be on to something with this theory if they begin shipping out the cars later this year. Imagine being a billionaire and getting this "cheap" LEGO set that you never intend to build for a 4.1 million dollar car as a GWP and then reading on Reddit/IG how crazy collectors go for such limited sets and end up getting thousands for it on an auction from a rich collector who will never open it either and by the time his children inherit it, the 3D printed nylon parts have all disintegrated inside the box.
