  1. i have been reading this thread for some time now (you guys are doing gods work!!!) the interface A working with PWM was a welcome surprise haha , i have code scraps of mine doing the same https://gitlab.com/COPERNICON/lego-interface-a-arduino-python (pardon the terrible code please) one issue with the 2 interface A's over one parallelport is that there might not be a pin available for the 5v source, all pins are used for reading and writing the I/O of the interface A...

  3. i have controlled an interface A with an arduino before :-) it is really fun thank you for wanting to help me out but i dont want to take your time, regardless, it is possible to drive a interface A with the 5v of a usb port, so if you can use that you will be safe it is such a big shame modern computers dont come with any usefull ports like DB25's or serial ports.... luckily cheap chinese adapter cards exist :/ final comment on the DB25 parallel port: the computer can set pins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 14, 16, 17 and can only read from 10, 11, 12 and 13 thus (theoretically) you can drive 2!!! interface A's via 1!!! DB25 parallel port!
  4. i see, it is a shame there is so much current flowing, it would have been cool if you could be using a standard FT232 or parallelport to switch on or off the interface A, ft232 boards have often a 5v pin (from the usb port i guess) so if you add a transistor to one of the data pins of a ft232 boards you can maybe switch the interface A on or off that way.... i think it is possible for a DB25/parallel port, in the article of lgauge.com about the interface A they used 2 control pins (1 and 14) for the 5v for the interface A, i dont know these pins can be controlled by the computer, it is also unclear what the current limit is of these specific pins i am considering getting a dirt cheap pcie to parallelport and serial port card for my PC, could be fun to control the interface A (with a custom cable) and an interface B ok, continuing on the DB25 port: Data register: controls pins 2–9 (DATA0–DATA7) => can only be set by PC Status register: reads inputs from pins 10–13 (and others) => can only be read by PC Control register: controls outputs on pins 1, 14, 16, 17 (and others) => can only be set by PC
  5. would it be possible to hook the 5v input of the interface A to an I/O pin of (for example) a FT232 or arduino, if the 5V is just needed for the logic µC's it maybe can be used to enable or disable the interface A via the PC, for example as an e-stop controlled by the PC...?
  6. just think they could have done a little bit more with this set...even if it is just a crude and useless clutch or whatever, just so you have something extra to play with

  8. hello, i have archived the educaboek's lego lines software some time ago, i have an almost complete educaboek book set (see this: http://www.miniland.nl/Dacta/). i have been talking with @amine about it on discord, i have archived most books of the set, i only need to do the student manual (i dont have an appropriate scanner for it...yet). the only thing i am missing from the educaboek set is this odd piece: you can find the scans here: https://archive.org/details/educaboek-robotica-nl everything is in dutch though....
  9. here are some more pictures of the internals of the free wheel gear: https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.php?f=589013 apologies for the quality of the images, those are pretty small parts... @Stereo was kind enough to share one of the images for me as i didnt know how to upload images to eurobricks (apparently, you dont) it is not really hard to disassemble one of these gears, you just need to push the green tabs in one by one, dont apply to much force, you just go around and push slightly, eventually they will pop out, then you push with equal force on all 4 green tabs to slide it out, again dont apply to mush force, the green part is very thin and flexible, it will give
  10. for the interested, the 3 parts of the free-wheel gear have the following text: grey housing: "7161" , "7-01" , "© 2025 The LEGO Group" orange core: "7162" , "05-01" , "© 2025 LEGO" green housing: "7163" , "1-01" , "© 2025 LEGO" yes, it is 2025 not 2026, that was quite the surprise but i guess it makes sense, these parts need time to make i was hoping to find some sort of patent but i found nothing, which is good because that means 3rd parties can create and sell there own similar designs also i am somewhat surprised by general the lack of excitement on the internet about this part and the 64 teeth gear.... like people, we finally have new cool technic parts, not just stupid panels???

  13. what a nice tatra 813! it looks like a very capable trial truck how is the battery life with the PU hub also how good are the tires? they look pretty hard
  14. the facebook post who leaked it didnt share anything about a release date or window right? it looks like a finished set but it can always be a prototype/moc-up.
