A couple of things:

Adria Arjona (Bix from Andor) has been cast in MOT. Can’t wait for her to not get a minifig again./s

uj/ I really hope she’s playing Wonder Woman, she’s been my #1 fancast for ages. MOT is shaping up to be a semi-team up movie with 2 Green Lanterns, Hawkgirl, Mr Terrific, Superman and Lex with Supergirl and Captain Atom being possible. So why not WW.

Absolute Batman has been confirmed for LotDK! Now I just need Man and Dawnbreaker skins and it’ll be the best Batman game ever.

It seems likes it’s either Wonder Woman or one other character. The other character arguably makes more sense for this movie. But we also know a Wonder Woman film is a top priority. Maybe they got the script figured out and cast her for a small role in MoT and her film comes out in 2028, similar to what happened with Supergirl? That’s the only way I see that outcome happening given Gunn has been pretty adamant about not casting major characters like her until they have the script figured out.

Whatever her role, I doubt even if we do get MoT sets (which is probably the bigger question atm) that we would get her character. Best case scenario, I think we get 1-2 sets with Superman, Lex, Brainiac, and maybe a couple others like Green Lantern (either Guy or John), Hawkgirl, or Mr Terrific. Maybe Supergirl if she’s in this film.

I really hope she isn't playing Wonder Woman. I'd rather see a more old school version like Lynda Carter was. Arjona is too similar to Gadot.

The good thing about MoT in terms of potential for tie-ins is that pretty much everyone from Soup returns, except for Ultraman maybe. So the sets, if we get some, could easily double as Soup sets!  Or vice versa, they could release sets based on Soup as early MoT tie-ins with a second wave coming later!

The next step is removing the minifigures from the batmobiles, right? It's the only thing I can think of that they have left to take away before they just stop being sets entirely.

The other option is a 2022 repeat where we get like one singular 4+ set and nothing else.

 

The theme really does need a reset of some kind. It's been said to a level that dilutes how clear it is, but it boggles my mind every year that we don't throw some other heroes and villains into the batmobiles. Even if market research is showing kids are only aware of batman, they need allies and enemies for him, right? If a kid was buying batman sets this year their only figures are batman, bruce wayne, and the batsuit, with the polybag having the most figure variety. They have 2 play experiences- have batman suit up in the batsuit, and have batman drive one of the 50 batmobiles. (With, again, the polybag somehow having the more unique play feature/pattern than the full-sized sets) He can't go catch crooks, fight super villains, train his robins, or team up with the league unless they have older sets.
