SpacePolice89 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 What are your oldest and first minifigs? Mine are the white and red Classic Space astronauts (1978), the policeman from 600 Police Car (1978), some of the soldiers from 677 Knight's Procession (1979) and the minifigs from 379 Bus Station (1979). I got the Bus Station and some Classic Space sets from my Dad's cousin (they were his sets originally). The minifigs from Knight's Procession I got in a lot that I bought and the policeman I got by mistake when I ordered a new police minifig and I only paid two euros for him. My first minifigs ever are the Futuron and Blacktron astronauts from 6703 Minifig Pack which was my first set with minifigures and probably my first set ever. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 My oldest is a slabbie / stage extra / pre mini-figure from 1980 in all-black I bought as a statue, which predates me by about 14 years. The first figure I remember owning was the Bionicle happy meal toys, and the first minifig that I actually remember (there were more, but they are lost to time) was green-jacketed 2003 Johnny Thunder from Orient Expedition.... my father actually still has it and the plane I made him at that time, as it sat on his work desk for 21 years until his retirement. Stereo Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I believe the first one I possessed was the 6531 helicopter pilot. I have a couple early-helmet Classic Space figures that are older (blue and red), and a sticker-torso firefighter that I don't know the exact age of. Quote

dr_spock Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Still have these guys from the 1980's 7710 push train set. They seem to have stayed with me every time I moved. Quote
ShaydDeGrai Posted January 23 Posted January 23 My VERY first elements that might qualify as a minifigure were slabbies from the fire engine set #693 in the mid 1970's. My first minifigure (as we know them today) was either a police officer in a black uniform or a girl with black pigtails, a blue torso and red pants. The cop had buttons printed on the torso; the girl only had a printed face, no chest or leg detailing. I don't recall which came first, but I remember wishing the color scheme of the girl had been the other way around with blue legs and a red top. I also recall not being too keen on the redesign back in the day. After three years of playing with slabbies, articulated minifigs just seemed weird and, well, something of a betrayal of all the kids (like me) that had invested their hard earned allowances and paper route money in collecting sets that were based on the original design. I eventually warmed to the new design after I started replacing the the slabbies' heads with 1x1 round trans-red bricks and started thinking of them as androids in my own little Lego I, Robot society. JesseNight Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I remember my first set, and with that, my first minifig. It was 6629 Ambulance (not sure why it's called that) from 1981. The oldest minifigs I have must be from any of my 1980 sets: 6678 Excavator, 7710 Push-Along Passenger Steam Train, 7834 Level Crossing, 6821 Shovel Buggy. @dr_spock I remember that set well, it was the only train set I ever had. This picture seems to be a moc, the original carriages were very short with only a fixed single axle on each side, no bogie plates. Do you have any pics of the entire moc? Quote
Darth_Bane13 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 If it counts as a minifig then my oldest would be the standard b1 battle droid, if not then the 2002 Tusken raider would be my oldest. Quote
GeoBrick Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I don't exactly remember which was the first set that I got back in '78 or '79. Might be the Knights' Tournament, the Knights Procession, or one of the Classic Space sets that came out back then (either the Space Shuttle (442) or the Space Transport (918)). Quote
Toastie Posted January 24 Posted January 24 5 hours ago, GeoBrick said: I don't exactly remember I don't either - my first set was #323 I got in 1965 - no minifigs back then. Later on, my parents got me some 4-wide cars in the late 1960s and 1970s. For sure (I still have them) are these astronauts, the guys on the right: There are about 1000 other folks sharing space in my "office". No idea, who came when. Best wishes, Thorsten Quote
Siroco Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Don't know wich one Igot first, this 693 This 363 Or this 365 Anyway 1975 was a great year And if those don't count it should be this: But I what I really wanted back then was the parts, to populate them I used premium figures (from ice cream, soap, etc.) Quote
