BrickBob Studpants Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago The buildable Grogu looks neat, but also very similar to the previous version. As others have said, it’s strange they didn’t take the opportunity to give him and Din new outfits for the movie Although it’s blurry, the new baby fig at least is a significant improvement! As for the “trailer”, it’s a parody of a commercial and not a bad one at that, but we need a new proper trailer asap. What the actual KRIFF are they doing with the marketing?! The only thing saving it from crashing and burning like Solo is that it’s not sandwiched between two Marvel movies. Had Doomsday not been delayed, this movie would be toast. Quote
Tariq j Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I must admit, the difference between the marketing and hype for things like TFA/Rogue One and this film is stark. I imagine there’s a lot more stuff to come but I’m also not feeling anything at the moment. Buildable Grogu does look very good and I am excited to see the rest of the sets. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) I really question what Lucasfilm’s marketing side are doing with this approach. That Super Bowl commercial is charming in itself, but it’s something you’d expect to see as an ad during the release month of the film rather than something in lieu of an actual trailer. I think they’re overestimating the appeal of Mando and Grogu a tad too much. At least the new Project Hail Mary trailer looks awesome. Buildable Grogu looks fine, if not redundant. Looking forward to seeing the new minifigure in more detail. I do wonder how many ‘desirable’ minifigures and new moulds we can expect with this TMaG wave. With Zeb coming I hope they at least prepare a new mould to represent his bulk than reuse the 2014 one. Edited 14 hours ago by Kaijumeister Quote

Honestly I don't even mind christmas-themed prints in them- they're hardly normal sets and I don't need them to have exclusive canon figs- but I thought the santas were a lot more fun. The sweaters don't interest me as much and all blend together after awhile, whereas every santa fig but threepio all felt pretty unique. Snowbacca was excellent as well. 50th anniversary of the franchise is also the 50th of ANH, so I wouldn't mind them doing Santa Tarkin or something. You may fireplace when ready. Yep, this is exactly where I'm at... As we already talked about it, the very same principle applies to larger occasional sets like the Gingerbread AT-AT. It doesn't need to have the 37th regular Vader minifigure in there. No, you have a little more fun and do something more unique. The set ain't trying to represent canon anyways, it want to be just joyous, so you can go full steam ahead and run wild. I too prefer the older Santa versions (2011-2016) of festive holiday figures. The ugly christmas sweaters (2019 ownwards) are fine, certainly better than nothing what we actually had for a couple of years (2017/2018), they're just not as well rounded in design, because it's just a single new torso piece. They are more repetitive in that sense... not quite deliver the complete look, if you will. However, since Lego brought a brand new mould to the table last year and made the AC based on a specific theme, I stand by me point that I would gladly have some exclusive, yet ordinary looking figures at the expense of the aforementioned ugly christmas sweater figs. Like I wouldn't mind an Episode I themed calendar with Theed Amidala and work-in-progress C-3PO in it. 6 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: Bruh what the heck was this? I’m feeling nothing. Does Disney just not want to generate hype? I wasn't sure if this is just a separate scene made for an commercial or if it's actually straight out of the movie. If somebody told me this was the old buildable Grogu, I would have doubted that for zero seconds. Without heading too much into off-topic territory, in terms of what the M&G needs to represent, I think a more light-hearted popcorn flick would be fine. However, I don't think it would be fine to be on the same level as something like the Solo movie... The quality standard should be considerably higher than that. Starting off with the visual presentation... if you know, you know. Quote

If you're asking what it is in a more literal sense, they're spoofing I believe an old american beer commercial, as well as the general vibe/layout of a lot of american commercials for beer and/or trucks. This is why modern western legend Sam Elliot is inexplicably narrating it. As for why they did that... I have no idea. No kids are going to understand what they're talking about. No star wars fans are getting anything extra out of it. And nobody who wasn't otherwise going to watch the movie is going to change their mind because Sam Elliot did a spoof commercial for it. 5 hours ago, Kaijumeister said: I really question what Lucasfilm’s marketing side are doing with this approach. I'm very excited to see it. I would say likely molds include Zeb's head, a set of new molds for the snowtrooper helmet and heat mask, potentially new molds for Rotta, and of course the confirmed new baby yoda mold. Beyond that I don't think we've seen much that would require new molds, but maybe there's spoiler characters or aliens in the wings. 8 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: As others have said, it’s strange they didn’t take the opportunity to give him and Din new outfits for the movie I've been saying for awhile that this might be the single biggest issue with the movie's marketing/potential success. CloneCommando99 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Carson Teva has been confirmed for both the X-Wing and AC. We won! The X-Wing is now a lock for me. Now I just need a new Wedge and Norra Wexley. Edited 5 hours ago by CloneCommando99 Quote

CloneCommando99 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It appears UCS SSD’s box art has leaked. I’m a bit sceptical but it is on the main leak subreddit. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The RC has leaked!! Love the colour scheme, and Zeb & Grogu both look great, as does Ward Quote

If you look at the set name the letters are stuck together weirdly in the way a number of AI models tend to mess up. I guess there's a possibility lego is actually making this model and they've just chosen to use AI to develop the layout, but I doubt it. This is also a very strange angle to use as the front-of-the-box image. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago That new Grogu looks perfect, exactly the sort of upgrade the minifigure needed. Razor Crest looks nice, although not very exciting. Maybe more pictures will change my mind. Quote
Llewop Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Quite like the razor crest no idea on how much it is. But also Stormtrooper has got the new pauldron Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Fingers crossed we’re getting a new show-based Grogu too, like in the Sandcrawler or the N1. The new piece looks awesome, but the mudhorn armour piece ties it specifically to the movie ^^ Well there we have our Grogu movie upgrade! Quote
Tariq j Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago That’s a good figure lineup for the RC, I really like that new Grogu piece. The RC itself does look smaller than the 2020 version. Quote
Darth_Bane13 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Another buildable Grogu is insane we just got one last year. Quote

I still prefer cloth in a vacuum, but this really lets you get the geometry down, and I suppose pauldrons aren't cloth in this universe anyway. 2 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Fingers crossed we’re getting a new show-based Grogu too, like in the Sandcrawler or the N1. The new piece looks awesome, but the mudhorn armour piece ties it specifically to the movie ^^ Well there we have our Grogu movie upgrade! Eh- it's a little piece of belly armor. It's a slightly bigger change than something like Mando's thigh armor plate changing between seasons, but they could at least have changed the color of his little robe. I don't think it'll be enough to get anyone buying new Grogus, especially since we know he spends at least a portion of the movie without it. Mando's got a yellow stripe on the crest now- putting yellow accents on his armor would have given him a new action figure (While still keeping the helmet primarily chrome so everyone recognizes him as Din), and you could have given grogu a yellow outfit to match. (Though I always assumed if he finally painted his armor and gave his clan a color scheme, it would be green) 1 hour ago, Darth_Bane13 said: Another buildable Grogu is insane we just got one last year. They're getting more expensive each time (except for the 4+ one of course), and yet the last one can routinely be found for 40-50% off. I think this new one is the best they've done, but it's too soon. I don't know how well this set will do. I want to wait for a better angle and confirmation on the price before giving an opinion on the new crest. There are some geometry improvements, but it is a great deal smaller- it loses at least 4-5 studs lengthwise. This specific angle makes the engines look much closer to the fuselage than I'm hoping they'll be, but looking at the corner slope used by them, I think it's just a perspective trick and they should be fine. I will however give my opinion on that turret, as we can pretty easily get the full picture from this angle. I hope this is a new turret that lego got concept art of, because we've had the E-web design down pat for awhile now, but first we lost the power source, and now it's got the wrong number of legs and much too tall of a "stem". Alex_South Posted 22 minutes ago Posted 22 minutes ago I really like the new RC, I don't think a playset is going to get much better. I think the interior will also be an improvement over the old one. I wanted some pearl silver but that was never going to happen. Now my next question is what set will look best on the shelf next to this one in terms of scale and color scheme, will it be the anzellan starship, or the x-wing, or perhaps the Sandcrawler, or maybe even Anakin's delta-7b. Quote
RODDY Posted 6 minutes ago Posted 6 minutes ago I really dig the new Razorcrest, in terms of shaping it’s such a huge improvement over the last system scale one even though that one was also pretty good too. Definitely would have picked it up if I didn’t have the UCS version. Quote
