Dang, was hoping it'd be the white one since that's surely the focus for army-builders. At least if you do what I do and get the GCC 2014-style replacement helmets it doesn't really matter so much. 

As with half of the figures being Death Troopers in the battle pack, it's kinda crazy that the standard plain white Night Trooper is the one which is the most difficult to get in large quantities.

Oh okay, I see. As far as this Christmas goes, I was actually kinda torn between the aforementioned U-Wing and the V-19 Torrent. The latter, especially on sale for 40 bucks, is the more attractive deal to me. But given that my birthday ain't that far away anyways, I'm probably sticking to that. As for the Yellow Clone Trooper TM Battle Pack, it's currently available at a pretty reasonable 25€ on Amazon DE. But given I'd rather want to enjoy my time during the festive days, I kindly decline and save it for later.

Also wow I totally forgot about the V-19. I wouldn't say it's super high on my priority list but it is a pretty nice set with good minifigures and a decent price, so I could see myself being tempted in the future if I see it for cheap. Also also forgot the zombie troopers pack, I'll probably get that relatively soon.

That's good. After the upcoming Clone Pilot, I wasn't planning to pick up yet another one of these Magazines. As these things have gotten extremely expensive as of late. So I wanna make every minifigure count.

We just might during "my early days" on Eurobricks. In the last couple of months, I just took notice of some situations where I would go on and quote some of your postings and you wouldn't reply to me even once. Despite being fully aware that not nearly every topic is worth further discussion, i was sometimes under the impression you had a personal vendetta or something stupid like that. 

Yep, the minifigures, like Lego every so often intends to, are a clear standout for the set. Even though I really enjoy the look of the build, too. Lame landing position notwithstanding, the ship looks to be so damn swooshable.

The May GWP is rumoured to be the Darksaber  I hope it‘s to scale with the other lightsabers, but then it‘d be too large for a GWP if it includes the blade… Just the hilt would be a bit silly though. Maybe it‘s at a smaller scale then.

Well yeah, it's just straight up gonna be another erigiously overpriced Super Battle Pack. The fact that we still haven't received some new Kaschyyyk Troopers with now utterly necessary helmet holes makes me a little nervous. So yep... book it. Wolfpack would be a good second guess and at least something we haven't gotten in ages. 

Oh shoot, I first thought to be just too sick and tired right now to comprehend this supposedly cursed number combination. But to be perfectly honest with you, I literally didn't have a clue about any of it. I was reading out loud both postings and my significant other had to explain it to me. Seems like I haven't missed all that much. 

Can't recommend the Boarding the Tantive IV set enough. Above average minifigure selection, quite good design, very sturdy build, some pretty neat functionality. Just a well realized overall package that leaves almost nothing to be desired. Other than Lego being Lego, it's kinda unbelievable it took them 25 years to create such a play set based on what is widely considered to be one of the most iconic scenes in the history of Star Wars. Though given it was a near perfect product to position your latest LSW anniversary, I'm glad that they finally did! 

If santa's not real, then how come he's at my local mall RIGHT NOW? Don't you see? This is checkmate.

It's gotta be one of the two. I'd hope we could finally rest after they release, but given lego's already dived into legions as obscure as the geonosis camo P2s or the purple 187th, between those and our annual 501st legion battle pack I'm sure the cycle will continue. Not to mention the retirement dates of sets meaning they can cycle new ones in- that AT-TE's got to be on it's last legs, and the 212th never did get a battle pack in the modern era... I've always had a soft spot for the legion too so I'm sure I'd pick one or two up depending on the price.

If you live, work, or interact with children (or childish adults) in any capacity it's nigh-inescapable. I have no clue what it actually means either, beyond a cursory google search confirming it's not referencing anything kids shouldn't be talking about, but it's invaded nearly every corner of the internet.

Oh yeah, I love it, definitely my favorite set of the past two years. Reasonable price, excellent fig selection, 18+ quality build with play features, I was a day 1 purchase and as I've said am hoping to pick up a few more if it does get discounted enough. I currently have an expanded copy of the Luke vs dark troopers set sitting on top of it, and want to make a Maul Venator Hallway MOC to put below it to represent the three big hallway scenes.

I don't remember the exact conversion, but I believe that's about the same cost/trooper as just buying the battle pack, right? They've got to bring these magazines to america, the money they'd make off the army builders...

Do we normally get the GWPs rumored this early? I can't remember the last time that happened.

A bit disappointed it's not a figure-scale build with minifigures, but I suppose that'll quiet down the "Lego is greedy for giving out an exclusive figure as a freebie" crowd. I assume it will just be the hilt- that's how the previous ones have gone, and the darksaber has a pretty unique hilt.

Aw, man. I'd forgotten that timeline-wise, those pretty much have to be Pik and Waffle. That's unfortunate, they didn't deserve that fate.

The regular price of the magazine is €5.99 at the moment. So it is not that cheap for one minifig. That's why the last magazine I bought was the one with Qui-Gon in January this year. But I'll get the one with the Night Trooper. I skipped the battlepack but one or two Night Troopers will be good for kitbashing/figbarfs  And I can simply pick the magazines up when I am grocery shopping in my local LIDL supermarket, so I guess I am more willing to spend the money when it is so easy to spend it  Compared to the battlepack which I have to order or have to visit a shop in the next big city to pick it up.

The issues with Ahsoka and Maul had a price of €7.99 because one came with an additional tin box and one with a sticker sheet. The sticker sheet was super lame though.

Maybe, but (gonna go on the same tangent again because I find retirement dates interesting) it's already one of the longest running LEGO Star Wars play sets, if it retires around this time next year it'll only have been beat by the Rise of Skywalker falcon and (assuming they don't also retire then) the Mando starfighter and Obi-Wan Starfighter. Four years is wicked long for a normal playset in the 21st century so it's a weird anomaly 

I'd like a 212th pack, I'd buy one or two when it's inevitably on sale like all battle packs are here, the only one I would for but the AT-TE's a weird oddity so I don't know what to expect for that one, might have a whole extra year or two in it for all we know. Because the other three longevity sets listed all make sense as modern, quintessential versions of main characters' ships but this one is a set of a vehicle that's memorable, I guess, but like in the way the AT-ST is where no non-fan could describe it from memory or know it by the name but they'd probably recognise it if shown and it has only one named character who falls under the exact same principle.

Easy skip, then. As far as May the 4th promos go, dedicated minifigure guy over here. But since I won't have a fitting Lego Shop exclusive to reach the ridiculously high threshold for next year anyways, it will be of no consequence to me. So yeah, let them all have their glory Mando time.

Sounds great. I think even all four minifigs are exclusive, because the K-2SO has slightly different torso printing. You definitely had me at the super swooshability. But yeah, we already ordered it. Very confident I will enjoy this one next week.

But have you checked what experienced man is masquerading as good old Santa? I mean, it could be George Lucas for all we know! 

Yeah, as long as there is enough demand, why would they wanna stop the delivery? The profit margins gotta be cranked up to eleven. Maybe that's what their motto "only the best is good enough" is really referring to. 

Ha, did anybody actually believed the 187th rumours/leaks back then? I know, I sure as hell didn't. But that was one Ace Mace figure. Also, I swear to the maker, if they don't finally come to their senses and put a freaking Crab Droid in a possible Battle Pack, even I'll be at a loss for words. Seriously... don't you dare putting yet another Dwarf Spider Droid in there, Lego! 

Maybe this blessed generation made a bet how many attempts it took for their head to get crushed like a grape when continuously hitting the wall. And they just couldn't settle the battle on six or seven. Thus, they are stuck in a time loop of seemingly endless stupidity. 

Oh, my bad, I wasn't properly reading the last part of your posting. So I was under the impression you haven't gotten this set yet. The recommendation was addressed directly to you. But best of luck to your expansion plans, man.

Ah, yeah, that's not great.... and that second part is definitely why they stock these in the supermarket... and why I have to be careful whenever I go to walmart lest a CMF box or small set happens to fall into my shopping cart. The old "I'm spending X on groceries already, it's not a huge deal to add Y" rationalization.

I doubt it's the license. We know lego can't sell individual figures and nothing else because Hasbro got mad when they tried it in 2000, but I think the magazine likely counts as "something else". We don't get any of the foil-pack magazines, but we get the activity books that come with just a minifigure for about the same price. It's been discussed before and I think the conclusion that was reached is kids' magazines aren't as popular in the US, but I still think the draw of a minifigure-especially an army buildable one, for $5.99-6.99  would do well.

Right, it's already pretty impressive, I'm just not sure how much longer it can last. I think retiring at the end of 2026 is it, in which case I could definitely see a 212th pack in 2027. 

I think a big part of it is P2 cody- another reason why I don't think there needs to be too much of a gap between it and a 212th battle pack. He doesn't have a ton of screen time in the movies but people really do like him and he was a pretty big missing figure for a good 17 years. I think it's just the general "kids who grew up with the prequels bought one in college" thing with this set- it was certainly one of the more popular ones I'd see back when I lived in a dorm. (Others being the Galaxy Explorer and Optimus Prime)

That is something he would do- it's not quite the same but it reminds me of the scene in some random, unrelated-to-star-wars documentary where he just walks past the camera at one point 

Hopefully they're seeing enough diminishing returns to dial it back, but I don't think I've seen a single discount on that godawful turbo tank (though I am enjoying the downfall of the 327th pack and hoping it hits $25 so I can grab one or two)

Oh, man. Not only did I not, I remember when someone guessed that we'd get an RFT for some reason I found unlikely (I think it was that some other set had been made in 2008 and 2017, the same years the previous RFTs had been released, and since the other set was being remade in 2022 clearly the RFT was also coming) and I, with less tact than I should, told him that, only to be proven wrong like a week later. (I maintain I was correct that it wasn't a logical assumption and the two sets aren't tied together, but still.)

No problem. Always happy to hear praise of that set, it's my favorite of the last two years.

True, but it's an odd ball, I don't feel confident ruling it out yet. It'd make sense for the 2027 clone pack to be like one people know as Disney's probably gonna do a big marketing push for the saga's 50th given we know they're doing a big cinema rerelease and Lucasfilm did a big merch push back for the 30th and this is the next notable anniversary. Based off the films the most notable probably are just the P1 shineys, 501st and 212th

Yeah, I know why people love Cody, I'm one of them, just very validating to see how much of a draw he was given I remember debating with people on these forums about him being a needed fig and the argument being no-one really cared. But the set itself feels like one of few SW ones that's a well priced (it's 120 here which is ridiculous for a over a thousand piece SW set), sizeable build with no issues, plenty of play features, looks good on display so it makes sense it's one to pull non-AFoLs

No problem. Always happy to hear praise of that set, it's my favorite of the last two years.

It's time for "The People vs. George Holiday Special. And I know exactly what video you are talking about... just hilarious!

We will see, I guess. But I feel like we are doing this for a whole while now. Always speculating in a "if they are done with thing X, they might start toning this sub-theme down", but it never really happened. Next year might be different due to the new Mando movie release. Let's see how the summer wave plays out.

Regarding the Turbo Tank, it's currently available for 105€, so 30% down from it's full price of 150€. Which would typically be enough for me to get any Lego Star Wars set that I still consider worth owning. But in this case, I still wait for like 40/50%. And even then there couldn't be anything for me to get instead. 

Yes, it's way up there for me as well. Actually, come to think of it, it might be my number one, too. I remember some of the initial leaks were confirming Captain Achilles for this set, which later on was debunked, only to reconfirm his inclusion. This made me very happy. I was hoping the same for Captain Panaka/Padme minifigure, first confirmed then denied, in the 2024 Sith Infiltrator, but this time it didn't pan out.

We just might during "my early days" on Eurobricks. I just often don't respond to stuff cause I feel that others have already said what I'd say or that the conversation itself is mostly done. Also sometimes I might have something else to add but I don't because it's not really relevant to the topic of Lego Star Wars. But anyway no I wasn't intentionally ignoring you, I don't think I have beef like that with anyone on this site (at least as far as I know ).

With regards to 2026, are we expecting to see any more sets any time soon? I kinda figured we wouldn't see M&G stuff until we're closer to the movie, but I can't remember if there's even anything else upcoming beyond that that we haven't already seen.

Yeah, I have the same feeling all the time with other people already having expressed the same thoughts as I was about to write. I usually end up posting my views anyways, but I'd by lying by saying that it doesn't affect my personal motivation or something. It's definitely much more fun to join new conversations among the early birds, seeing everyone's fresh, unfiltered reactions and excitement. 

And no, I don't have beef with anyone in here, either. Just a couple of people I can't really identify with but nothing personal. As for the usual subjects, at least from my standpoint, I'm having a pretty good time. 

Most of the upcoming sets from the May/June wave should be based on Mando & Grogu. So I recon it's gonna be a while until we get more concrete info. Even though I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't take Lego forever to officially reveal the January wave. So maybe we can get things out a little quicker than usual. If not, some leaks will have us covered... eventually. =)

I'm new here, are we getting tie in movie sets for Mandalorian and Grogu? the January 1st wave is based on various D+ shows it seems.

If so, what could those movie tie in sets be of?

It is amazing.

Yeah, at the end of the day it will only happen if the sets don't sell well, and so far the clone stuff seems to be doing just fine in lego's eyes.

It is nice to get Captain Antilles, especially since even if you already have one of him, he works just fine as any rebel fleet captain, just swap the head. It definitely would have been nice to get a 5th figure in the infiltrator, though 4 was already on the upper end of these $60-70 starships/starfighters. That said, the set we were just talking about was $55 for 7, so there was definitely a way to slide Panaka or Padme in (I would say it should be Shmi or Watto since they can't show up in much else.... but pretty much anyone TPM besides Maul/Qui-gon/Anakin haven't shown up in forever anyway)

3 in May, two in June. May has a $75, a $130 with 1200 pieces, and a $150-160 (I forget) with 930 pieces.
