The colour of the box was not in question... the question was do fanswant a brick-built compass over a minifig scale set?

:pir_tong2:

Well, I didn't want it, but it's now being reported by the reliable sources on Legoleaks, which is a shame.

Not more leaks! :pir-oh3:

This set has had more leaks than strainer!

It has been officially revealed, as seen on Brickset.

So disappointed to see the price officially. It's just too high.

Interesting to see the alternate face on Barbosa.

It's also officially on the LEGO site now. It's €349,99 in Europe and the release dat says September 15.

EDIT: The GWP is also visible on the site below the pearl, on the Insiders ad

I honestly would much prefer the Interceptor over the Dutchman any day. We need more Imperial ships!

Eknight

Absolutely not 😂 You can easily build the imperial flagship for $200 or buy the upcoming frigate.

The removable hull is a waste of pieces what a useless inclusion 🙄

It just got announced!

https://www.lego.com/product/captain-jack-sparrows-pirate-ship-10365

I have to say I really like the overall shape of the ship but I'm disappointed by the lack of interiors and how tiny the cabin space is. The space for the treasure chest seems like it was tacked on after they finished designing it. Most of the piece seems to have gone towards the canon play feature and the bottom hull which can be detached and is useless if you don't want it. The bell near the helm is inexplicably missing as well as ship's steering compass, which looked like a black box with a mirror in front of the helm. The two rails along the "stairs" are also not present, and the stern is missing the tridents near the top lantern, these inaccuracies are very disappointing for the asking price. I would've preferred that piece count to have gone towards more accurate details, actual interiors and Pintel and Ragetti.

The minifigures themselves are ok to me, Jack's torso is weird because it's not blue and for the asking price some of them should have dual molded legs or more accurate and detailed printing but I have pretty much all the Pirates of the Caribbean minifigures I need. I do wish this was based off the second movie so Elizabeth could come in her pirate outfit but oh well. Barbossa looks cool to me, his torso is pearl grey? And he's got the skeleton face printing too.

Overall I am mixed on it, I love that they tried to make something that resembles the old video game design but the lack of some important details and paying for essentially the canon play feature and colored bricks for the interior structure leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially when Pintel and Ragetti are not included.

Was precisely on point with the dimensions & Barbossa having a ghostly faceprint :pir-triumph:  Nice silhouette, interiors are nothing to write home about – can't wait for speed builds & reviews on YT to get an idea what's going on inside the inaccessible areas, 100% gonna mod the hell out of it :pir-grin: Cute compass, btw, welcomed addition for everyone lucky to have the LEGO store nearby, I'll definitely be getting it off BL once it's available. Not gonna yap about the price: there's nothing I could add that has not been already discussed, it'd be easier for me personally to stomach this price tag as I'm a Pirates collector only, but if you wanna get the Black Pearl alongside some other nice hefty priced sets & then perhaps spend additionally to mod it yourself – yea, I totally feel your pain :pir-hmpf_bad:

I am baffled by how Lego keeps disappointing and dropping the ball. Great design for 85% and then drops the ball on details and figures just like every other theme. Why add that bottom removable part of the hull? Why give us obscurish versions of the characters? Why is the interior so cramped? Why are there no small statues on the side of the cabin? Whit omit characters that are KEY to the pearl such as pintel and ragetti who simply don’t fit any other ship?!?!?!……. Either way I’m still buying this set day one and modding the figures. I simply love PoTC too much. Just glad I have maroonedmarins version at home so I already have a perfect pearl. When the Flying Dutchman comes out AND IT WILL (it’s my most wanted set of all time since I was a child and watched DMC for the first time) it might be my last set for a loooong time if TLG keeps serving us undercooked sets. I just hope they don’t ruin it. (How does this set cost as much as the LKC 😂)

The details you mentioned just made me even more disappointed… how do they miss this?! How do MOCers do a better job?! Whatever. Like I said I have a perfect MOC of the set on display so I can live with this imperfect version. As long as we get the Dutchman. Never imagined my interest for this lifelong hobby that keeps me going everyday would cool off so fast with such awful decision making.

personally my only qualm with it is the price. It looks good, can be both display and play, actually looks like a pirate ship, my only other issue is that the sales look unnatural. the hull and main build itself is exquisite, miles better than any pirate ship before exploding the endurance and durmstrang ship.

furthermore, is the Dutchman an actual confirmed thing or just ideas 10k club ?

It looks good and the mechanisms are nice and smooth.

But it makes the Endurance look like incredible value by comparison. The GWP is no incentive at all to me. And I wonder if it's all too cramped to be a play set, which I really feel that any pirate themed set should be.

I won't get it on release, and hope it comes to other retailers for a discount, but I will probably get it eventually.

It just doesn't excite me. I don't feel the thrill of adventure with it at all, which is odd.

The wall with carved tile patterns are also missing on the area behind the figurehead where the bowsprit is attached, something most MOCers also include, and even the old video game design had. the more I look at the ship the more disappointed I get, I'm almost tempted to just go back to my original plan of taking the original 4184 Black Pearl and the Barracuda and turn it into a Black Pearl with interiors like the brig and Jack's rum cellar. It would be much smaller and also have some inaccuracies but for the asking price I'm finding way too many inaccuracies and not enough interiors. Still can't believe Pintel and Ragetti were skipped in favor of Anamaria and Cotton or Marty, Zoe Saldana said she hated working on the first film so it just makes her inclusion all the more mind boggling.

Just hopeful wishing at the moment similar to Rivendell and Barad Dur

Even more disappointment.... That's a solid design right there! However if you have the budget for it (honestly without figures it's the same price as the official set) I would HIGHLY recommend @Marooned Marin MOC. I rave about it every other post on this forum but it truly is a remarkable model. It's one of the only sets I display in the living room and not in the Lego room))) Truly my favorite piece of my collection.

I will wait for a serious discount. I will not buy it at that price.

For me the 2020 remake Black Barracuda is still the best Lego pirate set at €200.

I know, inflation, Disney tax...

But I feel I'm beeing ripped of at that price and I don't like that feeling. So for now a pass for me.

The ship is beautiful, the minifigs are ok.

Also I have to *slightly* disagree. I am VERY happy Marty and Cotton are included. But Pintel and Ragetti missing is ridiculous nonetheless. Annamaria is a nothing character in all honesty :shrug_confused: compared to the rest. Marty and Cotton actually appeared in other films unlike her.

It could have been cheaper without the stand and under water hull

I like Marty and Cotton too but I would've sacrificed them for Pintel and Ragetti, especially since Barbossa is the only villain in the set which is just odd since it's based off the first movie, not the second or third.

Despite the lack of detail, the shaping of the hull & the arrangement of the sails on 10365 is not only superior to any LEGO Pirates ship released to date (and most of the playable MOCs at that) – it's also a great, for the most part movie-accurate representation of the Black Pearl. From the looks of it, modifying the exterior is not a big deal, adding the tiles on the front wouldn't be a problem in the slightest – it's a matter of adding a dozen of parts. Same with mini statuettes, the ornament of the stern etc. The design you've shared on the picture doesn't even come close, frankly – if the stern was redesigned, nobody would be able to tell this model has anything in common with the Black Pearl aside from the colour scheme. Just grab the new set on a sale or with a discount & start from there, add all the bells & whistles to your vision & liking – you'll end up with a much better model this way, especially if there would be many MOCs based on it down the line to draw the inspiration from.

This is so funny :iamded_lol: Funny and tragic. The higher-ups in those mega companies really have detached themselves from reality. At least from the reality the rest of the population is living in.

Louvre should take some notes. People will from now on come to visit and see 'Leonardo's painting' or spend their holidays in New York City too see some 'high building' LMAO :pir-huzzah1:

As for the set, it's an easy pass. Bring on 2026!
