To those reading a castle thread, I suspect the upcoming garden will be extremely disappointing. I would imagine it being a northern European (UK, France, Germany area) manor house garden in a similar style to the Fountain Garden but with different wall styles and plants.

I agree, the last garden had a new butterfly print I think so expect not anything more than that here either..

It will not be minifig scale either, and the foliage will probably not work well for Castle mocs.

But still interesting to see their take, and have it inspire actual Castle recreations.  I think a Garden setting could compliment Castle pretty well

I saw it on Reddit Lego Leaks. But maybe it was fake :pir-sceptic:

That was a picture of the Fountain Garden box transposed with the info of the upcoming gardens.

To be fair, Tranquil Garden is almost minifigure scale .

Although the others are not minifigure scale, I find the plants are fine. It is not like things are to scale in LEGO anyway. Not that I'd buy the sets for the plants.

Is Ninja sub theme relating to Castle? I mean the classic sub theme has some castle….

Anyways, I mentioned that there is Samurai’s Castle in the Ideas reviewing status. It would be very cool to ahve some set that doesn’t include knights.

I think it's generally considered to be a castle subtheme

Because nowadays people just go with how Brickset has themes put together really. Personally I would have sorted them into an own Subtheme, but in the end it doesn´t really matter.

I mean if it's not a castle subtheme it's not a subtheme, it'd just be a theme

Well if we go by todays standarts, it would have to be a subtheme of Lego System. ;) As System, Legoland etc were the official themes of that time ;)

Haha, true, everything was a subtheme for over 2 decades

For me Ninja has never been a Castle subtheme, more like a separate theme. The factions of Ninja rely heavily on firearms and those became common in Japan in the mid 16th century and therefore the theme is not medieval in my opinion.

To be fair, both samurai and knight wear armors and wield swords while ninja don’t have any proteiicve gears other than simple cotton material. And there is a wide range of weaponry in both Europe and Japan  Both have castles in their unique architectures. So… I do think Ninja is a Castle sub theme. If you think Viking is a Caslte sub theme, someone willl opposite to that one. Ninja and Viking sub themes are kinda tricky. Regardless, i call them Castle sub themes myself.

Well Vikings got their own theme, but in the end only because of the time when they released it and the sets were directly branded with an own theme unlike they were back in the times. In the end I don´t really see much difference between the Viking and the Ninja line, with actually the Vikings making more sense to appear in a castle line as they had more to do with knights historically. So yeah, I think whether you want to see Vikings and Ninjas as a Castle theme or not, either is fine I guess.

What bothers me more actually, is that todays castle Sets are all listed under the icons line. Which is an obvious choice of course, but if you want to look up castle Sets now, you will be missing the Forestmen Hideout, Lions Knight castle, Medieval Town Square and Majisto. And actually, I wouldn´t be sure if the GWPs actually even belong officially to the Icons line. And same goes for Lord of the Rings btw. You now have to look in different Themes if you want to find them, which is IMO one of the many flaws of that site, it would need a feature where you can just List all castle Sets from different themes for instance. But well...

Don’t Get me wrong but i have seen some fan sites that both Viking and Ninja cateorgiies as Castle sub themes. To be frank, it makes sense that they are subthemes, rather than their own themes.  Pirates, Space, and Adventuers have so many subthemes.  I would say - Viking and Ninja are historical subthemes under Castle. :)

Ninja was part of Castle very much, it fills a gap of products in 1998 and 1999 inbetween Fright Knights and Knight's Kingdom 1, so it's no different from other short waves like Exploriens or UFO or Insectoids getting the bulk of their regular sets made in 1 year.

Vikings and Knight's Kingdom 2 were made side by side, I consider those entirely seperate.

Yeah it's really weird nowdays.

  • Pirates under Creator 3-in-1 + IDEAS
  • Vikings under Creator 3-in-1  + IDEAS
  • Castle under Creator 3-in-1  + Icons
  • Space under Icons + (and at least 1-2 waves of City + Friends to be fair)

And then multiple limited GWP or Insider rewards.

And for 2026 it's pretty much an empty list, with just likely Sea Serpent as IDEAS GWP, and 3-in-1 having the new 2025 Castle, the rest of the IDEAS/Icons/3-in-1 will all be retired.

Castle also had an Ideas Set ;).

I wouldn´t be surprised if we get a new Castle next year - and if not, I would still belive we will be getting at least one Set each year for either Castle/Pirates/Space - though of course they could also go with another theme and make an Adventurers Set for instance.

The serpent GWP is really something I am looking forward to, this year I was waiting for a Castle GWP all year and now we only getting that Micro-builds, that are honestly kinda disappointing. But on the bright side, as Lion Knights and Wolfpack aren´t retiring next year it seems like we are going to get at least a GWP or Insider reward including them (Castle Tic Tac Toe maybe ;) ...) if not a full Set.

List of Insiders Week Sales leaked at the usual places, likely not final, but the Lion Knights Castle better is on sale everywhere this time and not only in the US again.

Between the 20% off, double VIP points, and two different GWPs, now is the time to get it... Especially with retirement at the end of the year! Hopefully the website stays up and I can get my copy before stock runs out...

Haha, well it will be literally the time to get it now, since I doubt it will last long. Actually I wouldn´t wait till morning to order it.

Yeah that’s why I consider Ninja as part of Castle group  as well as Vikings because of filling the gaps.  I have no idea why others say no they are not.

Pirates, Space, Viking, and Castle being branded as Icons, Ideas, or Creator 3n1 don’t bother me at all. I just think they are not sold well as their own themes during 2020s., based on the unsuccessful marketing of the late Castle and Pirates in 2010s.  I don’t mind it at all. Not to mention that Space sub theme in City last year doesn’t bother me that much.

Ninja buildwise was very similar to castle of the era
