Just like in MTS, a couple structures/houses having a number of workers going about their job. Or else a Medieval Manor. One could put a number of guards in that kind of structure. If I learned anything from the Town Square leaks, it's that it's better just to grab what you need off brick link/PAB/CMF and fill up your town as you please. No reason to wait for TLG to make your dream come true. I wanted animals in Town Square, like the leaks. I learned to not depend on TLG and just buy some animals. I want a fountain and a statue in the center of town. I want a peasant farm hut. I want more guards. I want more bandits. So I just looked at various mocs for ideas, PAB and BL the parts then made my own Unless there's parts or minis you really can't get, don't bother waiting. TeriXeri Posted July 3 Posted July 3 (edited) Yeah , the BDP palette 9 has the gryphon and kraken knight torso/leg parts + shields, I don't see horse or serpent knight parts. Still just 1 colour of horse (Dark Orange), no goat or sheep anymore. Edited July 3 by TeriXeri Quote

Thank you Well, noone can know for sure ofc, but there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn´t show up at PAB (unrelated to the point that they are included in BDP sets). Would expect them to hit PAB in october, but that is just a guess based on when other parts went there after their release. Quote

Well, no idea, as I mentioned before, I wouldn´t be surprised if they get changed in the process, we will see what they are going to do with those in september when series 6 will be finalised. To me it doesn´t seem that unlikely, that they just left those in the parts pool so there are knight pieces avaiable for castles, since Lego knew there would be new knight torsos in production anyways. icm Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) I passed on pre-ordering the Siege Encampment in February because I didn't have the Lion Knights' Castle and the Medieval Town Square, but when I learned that the LKC and MTS were retiring this year I got an intense case of FOMO and bought them during the June double-points period for effective 10% discounts of $40 on the LKC and $23 on the MTS. Of course, that meant I had to have the Siege Encampment too. I took some time to copy the parts list from the PDF instructions into a Bricklink parts list and get price estimates for parting it together from Bricklink or Pick-a-Brick. Either way would cost $500-$700 if I didn't start with as many parts as I could pull from my bins, and I don't have an extensive collection of loose parts to begin with. So I told my wife about the Siege Encampment and said it was "the one that got away." I wasn't willing to pay the high resale prices on eBay and Bricklink, even though either would still be a more economical option than parting it together from Bricklink or Pick-a-Brick. But this evening I saw a copy listed on Bricklink for $280+$20 shipping, which is less than I've seen for any sold copy on eBay. It's still terribly horribly overpriced by parts count and weight compared to other large sets I own, but I suppose a 30% markup ($300 plus tax instead of $230 plus tax at pre-order) isn't too bad for a set like this, and the $70 markup is nearly covered by the $63 discounts on the LKC and MTS, if I pretend I bought those at full price earning no VIP points. (Of course, at the usual single VIP points it would have been equivalent to a $31 discount on those, which doesn't nearly cover the $70 markup ... I better not think too much about this, that way lies madness). Yay, it's not the "one that got away" after all; I don't have to add this to a growing list of white whales I'll never catch (principal among them the 10210 Imperial Flagship). ... I've been whaling a lot in the past week or two, actually. I was lucky enough to snag a used copy of the 76139 1989 Batmobile for RRP+tax, and a used copy of the 76052 Classic TV Series Batcave for under RRP. I didn't expect to ever find those for a reasonable price. Edit - looks like I just made Duke rank. Cool cool cool. Edited July 6 by icm Quote

While BDP has had some odd inclusions in the past (such as the unprinted PDG breastplates), the parts used there are generally also available on PAB, so the LoZ shield may not be IP-locked! BTW, are the plain PDG breastplates still there, or were they removed as well? On 7/3/2025 at 10:58 AM, TeriXeri said: I don't see horse or serpent knight parts. RichardGoring Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I also passed on the Siege encampment. It's great, but I just didn't think I would ever actually display it use the various mini builds. My plan is to part out the tower and maybe one tent this week through Pick A Brick. I hope it doesn't get too much over $50 though. $500 to part out the entire set seems incredible! Quote

I liked the set, but then again it was another big and expensive set and I ain´t got space for it anyways. I was undecided with the Forestmen Stronghold aswell, and didn´t regret to not order it, but I kinda did with the Siege encampement - well, I actually decided to oder it, but got redirected to the wrong Lego shop where I was able to put it into the basket. Changed to the german one, but when I wanted to buy it there it said it was sold out - so really bad timing there. So yeah, I would like to get it still, but at the same time I am not willing to pay more than it actually was sold for. Anyways, still got LKC and MTS on my list, so this year is still going to be expensive eitherway - still waiting for a nice GWP though. Quote

I also didn't order the Forestmen Stronghold. I just didn't particularly like the set and felt that the castle dominated too much, compared to things being hidden away. (All of which is caveated by the fact that I couldn't design anything nearly as good). I also still have LKC, MTS, and the Castle in the Forest from the last type of Bricklink Designer Program all unbuilt, so I really don't need to add yet another box to the pile and should get on with building some of them. My kids have shown interest in castles, but they're probably just a bit too young to do a large build, so I may wait another year or two and do it with them. Quote

Blazej_Holen Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Even though I really like the idea of big battle pack, i passed The Siege Encampment. I would like to build tents such as those in the set and possibly a trebuchet, since these are to me the highlights of the pack... but thats it. Only BLD set I ever purchased is Mountain Fortress since its a great castle for my rather big Falcon army (around 35+ figs). Still it has its flaws, but it is engaging to make small changes here and there (I updated all panel walls and replaced them with brickbuilt ones, changed the tudor style house and made some furniture etc.). What I pray for (as many others as I can see) is a proper return of the theme. I thing, that its ok to have one larger set per wave, and once in 2 or 3 years get a full castle such as LKC. But at the same time, we (or at least I) need to see small sets, such as Black Monarch ghost, Black Knight, Sea Serpent, Wolfpack renegades etc. These are great for multiple purchase as well as one of play set. If designed properly. It will be great if LEgo make another big castle after retirement of LKC, this time focused on Black Knights. It could be remake in the same style as Eldorade fortress or something completelly new and fress with respect to the OG one. Also what is missing is a village life. We have MTS, but there are plenty of other add ons which could be made. A Town Hall, marketplace, larger pub / Inn, Armory, Watch tower, City gates, Stables, Library (for Wizards and Schollars), armorer (not just blacksmith), potion maker, bakery...it goes on and on. 4-5 sets per year, with tha range of 10-150 USD would be great. I miss those battlepacks or figure packs, with 4-5 figs, from each faction, including villagers... more horses (black, white, grey...), more animals (new collour for cow), more versatile torsos without faction emblem (like Griphon knight), nobility... So much potetnial, so many options and opportunities. All we need is decision to do it and team of designers with pation (Wess Talbott, Mike Psiaki, Milan Madge...). These guys could make incredible castle wave, I am sure of it. Just give them green light! :) Quote
Lion King Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Is Lion Knights’ Castle a competely original set? And Medeival Town Squaretoo? Since I never like the remakes that are too faithful to their original versions like Blacktron spaceship, Forestmen’s Hideout, etc. I need to decide if I would buy both LKC and MTS before they are retired.
