I’d say the Flukeman is more iconic anyway

I mean, it’s nice to get that figure … but Toombs is the OG.

Question is how many would even recognize him. I mean he appeared in two episodes and it has probably been years for many that they have seen the series. The flukeman on the other side, while basically beeing in the same boat, at least looks like a monster.

I mean, by that logic - Skinner and the Smoking Man just look like generic men 🤷🏽‍♂️

I would counter that earlier episodes always have more heft, not least as they are most frequently rewatched and re-aired.

So do Mulder and Scully (well woman in her case). But really, you can´t compare someone that had two appearances with way more important characters of the series appearing in several episodes each.

Fair point, but Flukemen is still recognizable as a monster without knowing who he is. And appearing in season two, isn´t that late considering the series has 11 seasons now.

So what do you all expect the GWP will be? Something that really would increase day one sales would be the Lone Gunmen IMO. Other than that, no idea what else they would make that is as iconic

Ah, right, makes sense too. Still would have prefered the Lone Gunmen.

I can't even find them. What have they done to the old Ideas site? It was well structured, and it's so chaotic now...
Where did they hide that oversight of the sets currently approved or in development per quarter of each year?

[Edit] Nvm found them after a long strugglesome search. "Smart" filters auto assuming things I didn't set, and the Jumanji set was in the wrong category (still "in review").

Anyway, love the Jumanji set! Sure brings me back.

Very curious choices, as always. The Universal Monsters might be a good way to boost the midnight valley sets and/or add some more characters to the valley, but the design as shown doesn't really seem appealing and feels fairly basic. It's better than I can do, but it doesn't really inspire, so will LEGO change it significantly and draw more ire for doing so?

The Jumani and Kimonos sets look extremely well built and cleverly designed, but they don't interest me and I wonder what the broader appeal is.

Nice that the Naruto: Ichiraku Ramen Shop has got a chance after so many attempts at that model (it feels like, anyway). Although very similar to the recent BDP program set.

Ideas used to be my favourite theme, but far less so now. Of the 18 upcoming sets, only 4 appeal as ideas. And I really hope that Lunch Atop a Skyscraper makes it out of the parking lot.

Of the 7 actual sets so far in 2026, only 1 really appeals, and of the 10 released in 2025, only 2-3.

This is likely a combination of personal preference and the increased volume of sets, but it also feels a bit of a shame. At the same time, there are still a few sets per year that I like, and that should be enough. Maybe I'd be more frustrated if I really liked all of them. And they must sell well enough for LEGO to keep doing it.

Ideas is a very wide range of different themes and settings so obviously it's a matter of personal favor. So far the Tux Cat was the only Ideas set I've purchased because I'm a cats person and it appealed to me. I've seen many Ideas sets that were appealing and very original, but that just don't fit into any of the themes I put on display. And with the exception of former mentioned cat, I like my sets to play a part in a bigger whole.

For that reason I am unlikely to buy the Jumanji set, even though I think it's well made and a very recognizable movie prop to anyone who was there in the mid 90s. Just a matter of choices and priorities I guess, I've long accepted that I don't have space for everything. My appeal to mostly larger sets isn't helping there

Exactly the same for me. I have a tuxedo cat that is very similar to the set. I use to hide the Ideas tuxedo cat behind a pillow so that only the head is visible and then my cat starts to hit the head with his paws.

As I said on Brickset:

The Jumanji film gave me nightmares as a kid - and I still can't re-watch it to this day due to several scenes. So, it's safe to say I won't be buying that set - no way, no how.

If they ever did another Chris Van Allsburg based project, I want a Polar Express set. Hopefully one day, the bell will ring true for all of us and LEGO will give us that iconic 2-8-4.

I plan to either make it all black, or get a second to make all black like one of my own cats.
I have a tuxedo cat too but that one's a bit hard to match because she is a long haired, her fur alone makes her appear twice as wide as most cats  Would take a crazy amount of modding to match her, so far my attempts haven't been looking good.

Ohhh I would love that as well! Although I'm not sure if I would buy it.
Ngl I've always had a love/hate thing for LEGO trains. I love trains in general, but I hate how much space is needed to make something realistic in that scale, it's near impossible.

The GWP for X-Files along with a picture of the side of the box showing the minifigs leaked and apparently we are getting two more minifigs, namely Krycek and X. Well and of course also Scully in the GWP but that isn´t really a surprise IMO.

Interestingly, the only piece shared between the two Scully minifigs is the awesome new hairpiece. Both versions even have new faceprints!
