BrickBob Studpants Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Since we don’t have plant or food item threads, I’ll bring it up here Upcoming sets also introduce cherries in four new colours (tan, olive green, bright light blue, and what I think is azure?) Quite impressive number of recolours for a piece that had very few for decades! Quote

I love that one, sadly it is rather expensive, so definitely would be up for a new version of it. On 2/8/2026 at 5:02 PM, Karalora said: No, you're 400% right about this. How are we supposed to depict the moment that the fantasy heroine makes psychic contact with the wild horse that will become her bonded companion if it's already wearing a bridle? TLG needs to think about these things! Well they do, just not with the System Horses. And kinda, I actually think it would probably look strange if they would add that to the blocky design of those horses. Quote
Lion King Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I’m….confsued. I mean, what’s up with they horses? Quote

Roebuck Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 3 "new" animals without printing. I assumed the BL program could not add new parts, but apparently half-made parts are OK I do not expect them to show up on PAB and they are not very useful to me however turns out the goat is not double-moulded, but the horns are printed (makes the price of it even more ridiculous then) Quote

Assumed we knew the goat wasn’t dual moulded, but yes as you say, makes the Bricks & Pieces price all the more egregious and unjustifiable for a ‘simple’ animal. Quote

Had the animals been printed, the only way to interpret this set would be that a maniacal giant stuffed either living or taxidermied animals into his treasure cabinet The lack of printing makes them look like statues or models ^^ Of course one can then ask why the cabinet includes animals in the first place, but this seems to be a selection of parts a lot of AFOLs like to collect (gems, crystals, armour, weapons, animals, etc). williejm Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) I mean - I get that unprinted animals can be statues, ornaments, or architectural features …. although in my opinion they are lacking somewhat without moulded eyes etc. What I don’t get is how that works with a dual moulded monkey: which just seems not really useful for an animal or an ornament Edited February 10 by williejm Quote
RichardGoring Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Agreed. The monkey looks really odd being dual moulded, but with no printing. I wonder if they've been able to get special permission to take these elements out of the production process before printing, or whether they will appear in other official sets at some point? Quote

I don't think it's much of a barrier for unprinted versions of printed parts to appear in a set like this since the unprinted versions already exist as part of the production pipeline. Some previous BDP sets have included parts like that as well (albeit not animals)—for example, the Mushroom Village set includes a yellow sack piece that otherwise only comes printed in an Animal Crossing set. Well I’ll be able to use the blue cherries to finally make a color accurate Gary the Snail, so it’s still relevant to Animals in the end! Quote

Roebuck Posted February 17 Author Posted February 17 I will put this in a parenthesis (new mould for mosasaurus in JP, Slinky the dog in Toy story and basilisk in HP), I would normally not report this here but this is the closest to any animal news I can find Seems like trend have been going down for a couple of years after probably a all time high a few glorious years Quote

Black Falcon Posted February 17 Posted February 17 City will go back sooner or later to themes like Jungle, Arctic or Desert. It honestly was quite unrealistic that we would get tons of animals every year now, there will be better and worse years like always. 2 hours ago, SketchBrick said: RIP animal golden years 2020-2024, you will be missed Last year wasn´t all that bad, especially since we got Wolf and Fox. But the quantity compared to years prior felt like it dropped at least 50% Quote
Roebuck Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 The quantity dropped last year, but the quality of what we got was top-notch with 3 animals high on a lot of peoples wish list. This year it seems the quantity is in free fall and the quality is not far behind.. We will know in a year or two if this is the new standard or a short dip 14 hours ago, SketchBrick said: RIP animal golden years 2020-2024, you will be missed Quote
