This year it seems the quantity is in free fall and the quality is not far behind.. We will know in a year or two if this is the new standard or a short dip Though, lest we forget, those three also came at a price - they were only available in €€€ sets, the wolf hasn’t showed up on Pick a Brick still (and was otherwise only available with a much-scalped chase CMF), and the arctic fox pricing on Pick a Brick is just insane. Lego knew these were much wanted and missing animals, yet still chose to make them out of reach for many fans. Pretty shoddy imho. (See also the goat in CMF / medieval village) Quote

It’s halved in price but is still about 4x what it should cost. No one can seriously suggest that a small animal like that with one colour mould and basic printing is worth £5.57, let alone the £11+ they initially charged. (And it probably only halved in price because so many of us complained) Quote

Quite surprising that the wolf is not available in Pick a Brick from LEGO, as you wrote earlier. Quote

I understand that at least one of the German Legolands sells the arctic fox for a couple of Euros - which probably accounts for the cheapness and bulk of some European BL sellers. If the wolf did show up on Pick a Brick then the price would be extortionate - as it’d have to be, to compare with the fox which is less than half its size 🤷🏽♂️ Did you pay full price on Pick a Brick for your foxes @ Shiva? Foxes full price? Yeah! I had other stuff on wishlist and didn't know for how long the foxes would be available. Then they dropped half price, after receiving them. Thought of sending an email, but never did. Yet, anyway. Quote

You absolutely should contact customer services and say you’ve been ripped off - because you have! It’s not like the foxes were discontinued - get complaining! Quote
Yoggington Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Couple of new animals in the leaked images for the next CMF. I count five, though some are recolours of previous. Quote

Pretty sure it’s a new cat mould with the cute witch, maybe sitting? clownfish is super cute, and fish skeleton is a nice surprise Unicorn in white, with what appears to be a pearl gold mane, and silver horn. ‘Chocolate’ dragon doesn’t appear to have any eye details which is a wee bit disappointing, but not a huge surprise Quote

Excited for more recolors to make a school of fish, and perhaps Lego will make more of these "snot" fishes. Quote
RichardGoring Posted February 27 Posted February 27 They look good. I wonder if the clown fish will be in a future set, and if so, will it cost less than $5 on Pick a Brick... Quote

I saw the picture and dismiss it as a dark grey kitten, then looked later and it must be a adult however it looked strange like the chihuahua almost. So probably a sitting one if so that is nice 3 hours ago, williejm said: Unicorn in white, with what appears to be a pearl gold mane, and silver horn. Damn, I think you are right, I thought it was a more natural color in the mane and planned to use it as a normal foal I am sure the the fish skeleton will be very useful, just think about all those garbage cans with fish in them I will struggle to try and sell the fig that comes with the clown fish Quote
Accio Lego Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Glad I was right about the Cute Witch coming with a cat familiar, and certainly not complaining that it turned out to be a new sitting cat mold instead of a black kitten recolor like I thought it might be! Also glad for the confirmation that the Unicorn Elf comes with a unicorn foal as her name suggested. And I like this mane color better than the purple as well. Definitely on my must have list. Clownfish is very well done with a nice looking minifig accompanying it – although I will be looking into part options to build her a proper anemone. The fish skeleton is a cool new part that I can see plenty of people using to add fun details to their builds and nicely completes a Minifigure that might objectively be the best of the series. The baby dragon recolor being unprinted is expected, but still limits its usefulness. Quote
williejm Posted February 27 Posted February 27 With the introduction of the new clownfish, which has eye printing and an anti stud on its base, the OG fish suddenly becomes out of date, and has to sit with the unprinted parrots at the back of the class. I guess it can still represent a dead fish, and now we have an even deader fish to complete that line up 💀 I think we have also quietly passed the baton on from CMF designers who were very clearly dog people, introducing new moulds of dogs (chihuahua, French bulldog, terrier, dachshund, Afghan hound) pretty routinely, to cat people - who are playing catch-up with some more diverse moggy moulds. Long overdue to have some variety in the kitties, I think. 5 hours ago, Roebuck said: I am sure the the fish skeleton will be very useful, just think about all those garbage cans with fish in them I will struggle to try and sell the fig that comes with the clown fish Definitely see the fish skeleton being a go-to in sets with trash cans / cats. I know a ton of marine biologists so I’m fine for spares of her 😜 Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 27 Posted February 27 The fish skeleton piece is unexpected but very much welcome! And the new clownfish piece could be used for all sorts of fish in the future Quote

I am really hoping it has two sides and can be flipped to swim in the opposite direction. LOL Quote

On the other hand, being that size with complex shape & printing - if it ever shows up on Bricks & Pieces it will be priced astronomically Quote
Lion King Posted February 28 Posted February 28 If there is really a sitting cat in CMF Sereis 29, my presumption is correct! I predicted for sitti variation of exisiting animals like cat and dog. It’s always nice to have exisiting animals in different positions (standing, sitting, and wing-guessing (for birdsong I)). Quote

Yes the witch seems to have a grey cat in the sitting position as a companion. Quote
Lyichir Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Fish skeleton is definitely very cool, first full creature skeleton since the horse. Will be useful for all sorts of scenarios. Quote
