BrickBob Studpants Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Do Pokémon count? The moulded Eevee just leaked! Quote
RichardGoring Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I don't know anything about Pokémon, but it looks cute. Quote

I know nothing about it either, but I do know there are a lot of them, so the mould budget in that theme will be sky high. As long as it do not affect numbers of animals in other themes that is fine by me (seems unlikely, I know HP stole mould budget from JP in 2018, but that is most likely the exception from the rule. Seems every theme has it's own budget) I am sure a lot of fans will collect them and they will be a big seller.. Quote

And it would be sensible to give this theme a larger mould budget as each one will be very popular and sought after. But maybe there's a risk that they reach the limit of the parts design department who make fewer moulds for other themes, unless they go on a hiring spree. Quote

The workload of part designers might be a bottleneck, but the far bigger one is production capabilities. Related factors are the cost of new moulds (estimated between 250k and 1mil USD per mould, and I think literally, meaning you have to to multiply that for each factory that uses one to produce the pieces afterwards), and storage. The Pokémon theme so far is light on new pieces, but we do know that the small-scale brick-built Pokémon will also introduce new pieces judging by the leaked Pikachu’s ears, which have to be factored into the theme’s budget as well, plus new minifig parts, depending on the characters they chose of course All we know for certain is that we get multiple moulded Pokémon in the Pokéball set, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just Eevee and Pikachu. Certainly not more than 5 in any case! Quote
Lion King Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I feel Pokemon does count as they are creatures, as we have aliens, prehistoric animals, realistic / extant animals, ghost dog (from Hidden Side). So….. And that Eevee is so cute!! And that Eevee is so cute!! Quote

I feel like they should and could push it. This is the first time there's going to be minifigs in this theme and it would be a good 'opening number' so to speak. Crowds will support it. Pokemon has a huge following! Eventually, I can see Lego price-gouging... being stingy with minifigs at the same time locking those in expensive sets that themselves are less desirable. Quote

Pokemon fans threatened security at Target while looking for resigned cards? We’ll see how bersek the Pokemon fans will be once musks are released. And it will be a huge (and chaotic) success for Lego Pokemon theme. Quote

I personally do not count any of those you mention there Everyone can choose for themself what they count and what they want to collect (to quote another animal collector:"My Collection, My Rules") Quote

Therefore, i still have no luck with foxes. Quote

Why must we suffer to collect the critters!? Quote
Accio Lego Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Official images of CMF series 29 have dropped, meaning high res pics of the new sitting cat, fish skeleton, and clownfish and recolored unicorn foal and baby dragon. The most interesting thing I can see is that the clownfish doesn’t seem to have an incorporated antistud – instead it looks like it has a hole for a 3.2 shaft, and the CMF box includes one of the transparent ‘nipple’ pieces that it can be put on (as well as a second one for the scuba fin wearing minifigure the clownfish comes with). It’s definitely a take I haven’t seen before with an animal, but it makes sense – a proper built in antistud would mess with the shape of a relatively small fish, and it’s not like anyone will ever want to have a free swimming fish directly attached to a baseplate anyway. RichardGoring Posted April 1 Posted April 1 The clownfish is a great design. The unicorn foal appears to have a transparent horn, which is odd as I thought those pieces were rubbery. Quote

Could it be a new horn piece for that unicorn as rubbery horn is too big to fit into Creator 3n1 unicorn’s forehead hole? Quote
