Roebuck Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Happy new year It do not look so promesing so far and the same goes for Lego animals A lot of set names have leaked, and City sets give not much hope for any there There are some hope with HP and the CMF, but nothing confirmed except the stag.. Quote

The City Beachside Tram could have some fun animals since it definitely includes a beach build. Probably nothing new but there are enough beach critters already produced that we could get something other than the longstanding fish and crabs. As for Harry Potter – even ignoring the trans satin blue patronuses – the big summer flagship set is confirmed to include the Chamber of Secrets and related scenes, so there’s a decent chance of getting Mrs. Norris – possibly even a new version using the longhaired cat mold. Lion King Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Other than extant and realistic animals, I do wonder if there would be more fantasy (except for trans blue ones from Harry Potter), prehistoric (Jurassic World), and sci-fi creatures would be introduced tho year. Right now, there are no Jurassic World playsets but only two 18+ sets for 1HY. Quote
SketchBrick Posted January 13 Posted January 13 This year is looking even rougher than last year, animal-wise. I wonder why there has been such a big shift compared to a few years ago? Quote

I wonder why there has been such a big shift compared to a few years ago? The big bulk of animals we have gotten from City that made a few years the best ever probably regarding animals. There has been a leadership shift in City with more focus on vehicles and system, and while the system idea has merritt since we do not get a new police-station every year etc. It seems they will use budget on parts that can be used in several sets and connect the system together, so they prefer to make parts like the dog with the vest etc. Just give it a new print and it can be a police-, fire-, coastguard- etc dog and not a piglet, calf that only can be used in farm sets (of course Castle etc outside City as well). I hope I am wrong, but it seems we get less animals in City every year since the shift. I have some hope the new farm logo mean that we get a wave of farm sets in the near future like construction has got with their logo, if so we are likely to get some animals. However animals in City sets just because they are nice to have there seems more rare now.. Quote
Accio Lego Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Pics of a line of ‘World Builder’ polybags have leaked. Two different firefighter themed ones feature a kitten and pigeon respectively, and there are some other City ones featuring frogs and spiders. There’s also a Minecraft one with a fish. Nothing new, obviously, but depending on prices that one with the pigeon could prove very popular. Quote

I think maybe they are sets/parts coming with books from what I understand, so will probably be expensive to get, however nice to se the pigeon in a small "set" for the first time Quote

Most of the leaked images clearly show packaging with set numbers and a hole for hanging them like the normal polybags have. That would be odd for something that’s only going to be included in a book. Quote
karrit Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Plenty of the polys that come with books are specific to those books and don't get sold separately. Unfortunately it seems a lot if not all of these will be packaged with DK books which are always a bit expensive. So they won't be a cheap way to get the included animals. I think the lowest I've ever paid for any of these books is about $8 and maybe $10-12 if it was a DK book. Quote
Lion King Posted January 16 Posted January 16 It looks like Matthew Ashton jsut clarifieid that Seires 29 won’t’ be “classic” but just an in-house, regular series. I think there could be a good chance for us to see a few new animals. Quote

We need some good news regarding animals this year I think Quote

My guess would be a beaver with either a Canadian fig or a lumberjill and an Amazon Explorer with a sloth. If asking for new moulds is too much for Lego, I’ll guess a recoloured fox with a refuse collector (foxes near us love to raid bins) and a recoloured raven with a dark wizard/sorceress. Quote
Roebuck Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 There are a picture of Education sets, one called Arctic animals science kit 45203 with polar bears, walrus and reindeer on the box and one "animals something" science kit 45201 with whales and a penguin on the box. Probably no animals moulds inside I assume, but nice box art at least Quote

Based on 3 series without animals in a full year (F1, Spider-verse and Animal Costumes), I feel like there is a good chance. Yet, there is no leaked list other than Tahu and Lloyd at the moment. pinar Posted January 17 Posted January 17 You know, I’ve been waiting for a robot T-rex for years. So glad they’re making that 🤪 The overall list isn’t too bad, though. Marine biologist sounds promising for a new animal. Also, what on earth is a Boba Cup?? Quote
Aurore Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) A photo of the Unicorn Elf leaked, and her hair-and-tiara combo is gorgeous! I guess she'll have a unicorn too... Cute Witch may be of interest for medieval-fantasy too. Edited January 17 by Aurore Quote

Apparently recolour of the one from D&D series So is the working assumption/ info -new clownfish -recoloured small dragon -recoloured/ reused small unicorn? that tracks with the posters on here asking for more fantasy critters, for sure!
