As many of you are aware, we have been asked to make nominations for the next wave of Ambassadors.

There has been some confusion among the membership as to how we were dealing with this, and honestly, we have only now come to a final conclusion ourselves. Please let me explain the process that will be used.

To begin, we feel that it is fair to allow the staff and fellowship to select the first nominee. They are currently doing that.

Now it's your turn to be involved in your community. You, the Eurobricks members, are now asked to select the remaining two Ambassador nominees.

How this will work:

• You can nominate any current EB member, 18 or older.
  
• Post your nomination in this thread and please explain why you feel they would be a good choice. This information is required by TLG, so any nomination made without it will not qualify for consideration.
  
• The nominee must agree that they wish to participate and state why they would be interested in the nomination thread.
  
• Nominations can be made until Saturday.
  
• Any candidate who is nominated and states an interest will provide all the required materials asked by TLG by Sunday, prior to voting.
  
• Finally, a poll will be held from Monday to Wednesday so that we can send the necessary information to TLG by the 24th.
  

If, by some coincidence, the top two entries coincide with the staff/fellowship choice, then the person who received the next most votes will be selected. In the event of a tie, the final decision will be made by the staff (there simply won't be time for another large scale vote).

This is tuff news, and is with a sad heart I write it

But I have to to inform you all that I am stepping down as admin on the second of June here on EuroBricks.com.

This is the day after the event in Billund, and I do look forward to meet all the eventees.

I step down, because the time is right for me. I am a creator of this site, but its time for me to move on.

As some know there have bin staff issues here, and yes this is one of the resons that I step down as admin.

Eurobricks have bin hard work, but also really great fun. I do not regred making this website.

Thank you to all of you members and visitors for making this website so great.

And a large thank you to admins: Vader, xwingyoda, sam89, ApophisV and jonfett.

Without you help guys Eurobricks will be lost, thank you. It is a great honor to call you friends

And thank you jipay for making this site together with a crazy Dane. Be nice to our child.

Here are Some mixed news:

- The Castle Giant Chess Set will be is on preorder on ShopAtHome, and will be Available September 1st.

- ShopAtHome also has a new SpongeBob Space Magnet Set.

- Some of the Star Wars Death Star sets, released later this year will contain a Silver R2D2.

- The Clone Wars will also be a movie, so there all in all will be 7 Star Wars movies.

- The Lego Batman Game is out due september this year.

- Speed Racer sets will be in stores very soon.

- There wil not be a Lego Baywatch Theme

- The Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull sets, are on preorder on Amazon.de, will be released 2. of May

- I will resign as admin after the 2008 Eurobricks Event.

- There will be no Exo Force in 2009.

- The Lego: Indiana Jones will be out 6th of June to XBox360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PC, Nintendo DS and PSP

LEGO 9V Train Communication III

Dear all,

As promised in the second communication from the 6th of December last year, we will give you the latest information and decisions regarding the development of the new train system based on LEGO Power Functions.

We are still working on the final details and doing a lot of testing of the new Power Functions elements; however, we are again able to give you some more details.

First - we will not change the gauge of the rails so there is no need to be afraid that the L gauge will disappear.

On the rechargeable battery box we have been working to get the best compromise between size and power. It has been decided that we will use a powerful Lithium Polymer battery and the size of the box will be 4 studs wide, 8 studs long and 4 studs high - this should fit in most of the trains.

The already existing standard LEGO transformer will be used to recharge and as the power supply.

The existing Power Functions RC Receiver already has integrated speed control. To enable the use of this we will make a newly designed RC handset with speed control capability.

All the above new Train related Power Functions items as well as the current battery train motor (with cross axles and wheels) will be available separately through LEGO Shop@Home before the Summer of 2009.

As you know we arranged a train workshop in November 2007 where ten AFOLs from around the world: Denmark, USA, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and United Kingdom participated, built with the prototype elements and also looked into ideas and possibilities for new train designs using the Power Function elements. Based on the outcome of this workshop and all the other fantastic input we got from the AFOL community over the last 6 months, our designers worked on the first train set using the new Power Functions system. This set will be truly aimed at the AFOL community to acknowledge the importance of the adult LEGO hobbyists in the LEGO train world.

This communication will be the last one regarding the transition from the 9V train system into the new Power Functions train system. Due to all the very valuable AFOL feedback we are far down the road with the development of the new elements and also the new train set. We appreciate all your efforts through this transition which we expect to be fully executed in 2009.
