Some LEGO Train builders have the uncanny ability to create a MOC that goes beyond the limits of LEGO Train tracks capturing a sense of realism and authentic model railroading. LEGO Train fans Gambort and Scruffulous combined their efforts to create Elmore 1972, a rural Australian Town & Train diorama for BrickVention 2012. The judges must have been impressed awarding the fantastic LEGO Train scene "Best in Show".

EB congratulates them for their amazing creation! For more images of their splendid LEGO Train diorama or to read what others are saying about Elmore 1972, visit Train Tech, EB's official LEGO Train community.

Less than a week left to enter!!

Classic-Town.net and Eurobricks invite you to create your own addition to the popular winter village subtheme that TLG has presented during the holiday season for the past three years.

As we enter the holiday season yet again, thoughts turn to fun and winter activities and where better to enjoy those than in your own Winter Village? So far, TLG has provided us with three places to visit, a lovely Winter Toy Shop, an equally inviting Winter Bakery and this year's new Post Office, but wouldn't it be nice to have an even larger Winter Village full of festive fun?

Well, now you can, by expanding the theme with your own Winter inspired creation!

Check out this topic for the rules and discussion!

Deadline Extended to January 30, 2012! - Less than a week to go!

    Siegfried
    By Siegfried,

What's more powerful, Ninjas or Pirates? The answer to this question has eluded the greatest of minds for eons, but with the recent invention of a flying sail ship I think they'll have the scumbags routed in no time. For more details read the report by Siegfried on the set

    Friends "Controversy" Rationally Researched

    Hinckley
    By Hinckley,

In what one might call an act of epic awesomeness, EB member and Thinking Brickly blogger, fallentomato has compiled an excellent article, fully researched, well organized and with a solid argument for one side of the recent Friends "controversy".

    fp_gender.jpg

Instead of doing what so many have done and just blindly jumping into the ring and flailing their proverbial internet fists, fallentomato has actually fully researched the subject and presented his findings and constructed his opinion thoroughly and expertly.

Are LEGO Trains Classed as "Real" Model Trains?

    gallery_174_44_41989.jpg

LEGO Train fan Paul B asks the most interesting question in EB's Train Tech forum. While the answer is most probably "yes" to most LEGO Train builders, some HO and other non-LEGO Train hobbyists might answer otherwise. Read what EB members are saying in this thought-provoking LEGO Train discussion and share your thoughts on the subject.

    LDD 4.2.5 is out

    Superkalle
    By Superkalle,

New version of LDD out today

Massive amount of new bricks added

LDD version 4.2.5 was released today, January 18th. As expected, the main difference to the previous version (4.1.8) is the removal of DbM and LEGO Universe modes. They have been replaced by LDD and Extended Mode. This means that there is no longer any need to manually activate Extended Mode - it's there out of the box.

The lack of new features is more then counterweighed by the massive brick update: 183 new bricks and 70 brick bug fixes.
