As I've already mentioned in the "what did you buy today" topic, I was surprised to see it in a physical store here in Greece. The helicopter looks a bit plain on the outside, but who knows that the interior will be like! I just love the limo! It comes with the stewardess featured in the airport, but now I don't need the airport just for her, I can get this set. Ohh special edition, I first thought oh no not another dumb TRU exclusive, but this one is different. The TRU ones would say "Limited edition" or something along those lines. That's the truth phoinix, you know the drill here. There is a standard price for every set and almost all (serious) retailers follow it. No sales, no % offs, no nothing. There is a store here in Crete that sells LEGO (not a famous one) and it was probably the only copy from this set since I didn't see another one on the shelves. BrickStorm Posted January 25, 2010 Hey guys, made an account just to post this bit of news on the helicopter & limo set. i just saw this last weekend at brickvention, one of the vendors there was lucky enough to win a copy of it in a competition - as far as i know, the first one in Australia to do so. he was pretty happy about it. stupidly, i forgot to get pictures of it - even though i took photos of practically everything else there. the box he had didn't appear to have any 'special edition' markings on it, but i wasn't really paying too much attention to the front... the back was where it was interesting. as far as i can tell, both passenger areas in the limo and chopper appear to have seats that face each other. the chopper seems a little sparse in the interior, with both passengers not seeming to have a table in between or anything (but they are both holding red mugs, so it might just be obscured) both the passengers and pilot have proper chairs. i didn't notice any cockpit for the pilot, he just seems to be sitting there, probably just a result of the weirdly profiled nose (though don't quote me on this one). it doesn't appear to have any openable doors, either, though the roof looks like it comes off similar to a passenger train car (which begs the question of how you're supposed to spin the rotors without knocking the whole assembly off). the helicopter is six-wide. the limo, in some regards actually seems to have more interior detail. the middle 'windows' just seem to be black L-shaped pieces. the limo also has a tv/computer set against the dividing wall between the driver and passengers. this vehicle's roof also appears to come off as a single piece as well. i'll try and recall anything else, but those are the big things that come to mind. About the Helicopter And Limousine: It's bad to hear that the helicopter won't have tables between the seats, no cokpit and no doors to open. It's great to hear that the limousine has a decent interior. About the Lego Truck: I hope that in the final version there will be doors in the back of the truck so you can load and enload the Lego sets from the side and from the back. About the City House (of which we regrettably don't have any pics yet): I hope that it'll look very similar to 6349 Holiday Villa - hopefully with a car (at the best non-Smart in blue with blue doors), a basketball basket, a lawn-mower (like in the new Creator house), green dustbin, blue/black bicycle, a small terrace, a kitchen, a living room, a bath room, a sleeping room, mother, father, son and daughter. That would be ! Btw: BrickStorm, did you see whether there are seats in the limousine (apart from the seat of the driver), too? I could have sworn there were seats, but now taking a closer look at the blown-up box Navy Trooper Fenson provided, there seems to be a distinct lack of a seat where the forward-facing passenger sits. My guess is the tv is an attempt to make up for that omission (which btw, appears to be either This, This, or something similar), so from my impression the heli gets seats (you can see them in the box pic, they are the yellow objects in the windows), while the limo gets a tv. It does seem that with the cramped spaces TLC did a half-decent job of not making them seem empty. I have to say, I really don't like that nose piece - sure, i've seen similar things on maybe one or two RL helicopters, but every time I look at this part, it reminds me not of an aircraft, but of this thing. For the most part I feel TLC could have picked a more 'smoothed off' design that would have looked better on both this heli and the upcoming transport jet too. I actually bought the set for the limo but upon completion I am far more impressed with the helicopter. It's quite simply one of the best copter's Lego has ever made... Looking through the instructions, I was really impressed they included 'business' type seating instead of the usual rescue stuff (which I was subconsciously expecting). Besides that the 3179, I have brought a few, one I have pimped my ride and will post the MOD's shortly.
