Buildingwon Posted March 25, 2016 SPOILERS! Last Warning SPOILERS! Ok. Any ideas regarding a custom kryptonite spear? I'm having an issue determining a good piece for the tip.
Hulk_Smash Posted March 25, 2016 Depends if you want to go purist or not, having just seen the film I too want to make it, but other than painting the end of a normal spear green I'm not sure how to do it, a lightsaber blade is too big and studs don't have the right shape. K-Nut Posted March 25, 2016 The best piece you could use would be the end of Vitruvius' staff from The LEGO Movie, but even then it'll look kinda oversized.
tafkatb Posted March 26, 2016 I'd go with a 1x1 cone personally; it's not quite the right shape but a good size and it's available in Transparent Bright Green. There's also the rubber dorsal fin piece, which would be a bit oversized but closer to the flattened shape.
Sir Gareth Posted March 26, 2016 Keep it Simple: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=4497&name=Minifig,%20Weapon%20Pike%20/%20Spear%20-%20Round%20End&category=%5BMinifig,%20Weapon%5D#T=S&C=16&O={"color":16}
thetang22 Posted March 26, 2016 http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=64727#T=S&C=6&O={"color":6} There's also a lime version. Unfortunately there's not trans green version, which would be ideal...but this piece conveys the size and shape pretty decent.
TheBigRedCheese Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) SPOILERS! Last Warning SPOILERS! Ok. Any ideas regarding a custom kryptonite spear? I'm having an issue determining a good piece for the tip. Great idea for a mini-movie build! :D Try this in either trans dark green, trans bright green, or trans green. Your choice. I'd go with trans bright green, considering what we saw in the movie. As for the handle and shaft, I'd attach this in black to the back of the rock, and then this to the back of the handle. Thus, your final design would closely resemble this, only it'd be black and have a rock sticking out of it instead of that knifey thing, which as thetang22 previously suggested, is also a good idea. Happy building! :D Edited March 27, 2016 by TheBigRedCheese
Silent Nomad Posted March 30, 2016 I was just planning on attaching a trans-green cone to a light bluish grey, or black, staff piece. I'm trying to decide who should hold it in my minifigure display, though.
JaseTJ Posted March 30, 2016 Not Superman, it might make him weak D: But yeah I had been planning on just using the trans green spear potentially.
xboxtravis7992 Posted April 8, 2016 I just found a review on Brickset where the spear was made using pieces in the small BvS set. Although I haven't seen the movie, the simple build seemed cool.
CM4Sci Posted April 8, 2016 Maybe use a Jade Blade from Ninjago? Might be too big and not look spear-y but eh.
Forresto Posted April 10, 2016 I would use the piece from the end of Vitruvius's staff like K-Nut suggested. It may look oversized but if I recall didn't the one in the movie look a little big as well? Either way the movie spear was fairly sizable.
