Brickbeards bounty or Brick bounty

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I really like Lego Pirates. I have some of the original sets that I picked up around when the original line was ending so I have the armada flagship. I picked up some of the 2009 pirates sets but not the ship and now there's a new wave of pirates sets. I see I have an chance to maybe get the 2009 Brickbeards bounty online seconds hand in great condition, or I could get the Brick Bounty new next month with the Pirates promotional set. Both ships look really good. The brick beards bounty is a little pricey though for second hand and it of course doesn't include the promo set. What are your guys opinions and what would you choose.

They look pretty the same. But I would go for Brickbeards bounty. It looks more... piratish to me... and it's rare now.

There was a topicdiscussion for this already, a few pages back "Battle of the bountys".

But it hasn´t had any posts in a few months.

I only have The Brick Bounty but I think its a great set. If it were me I'd just get The brick bounty because its double VIP on that set next month and you'll also get the exclusive pirate polybag.

However, I would suggest get whichever one you think looks the best to you.

Wait, what polybag would that be?

The brickbeards bounty. The darker red looks more realistic to me and the ship is slightly bigger. And of course the giant shark

Neither vessel is really astounding, so look at the differences and decide which is better for you - and whether you'll be building the official set or something custom. Want redcoats, a mermaid, big shark, gold-colored chest with chrome gold treasure, 6 double windows, dark red bricks, 2 complete bow/stern elements, 2 midsections, dangly rigging, etc? Get Brickbeard's Bounty. Want bluecoats, skeleton, sawfish, brown chest with pearl gold, 4 double windows, 2 sticker windows, normal red, 1 complete bow/stern piece, 3 midsections, slightly less dangly rigging and possibly the goofiest cook in Lego history? Get the Brick Bounty. There are other differences, but that covers some of the visible stuff. Hope it helps.

that's not as exciting as I had hoped. well maybe I'll look into getting the Brick Beards Bounty. How much do you guys think a used version of the Brickbeards bounty should be. I found one but I want to know what a ballpark reasonable price is

Wellthe question is more what it would be worth for you, but I wouldn't pay more than the brickbounty, these two ships are just too similiar.

And I think the prices are very different around the globe. But I am sure the ship will never be such cheap as now. When the current line is out of stores the second market pices for the 2009er will increase fast.

In Germany the current good price for the BBB is 60 € complete with box and instruction. But I think in the US it is much more expensive.

Thanks for the clarification folks. I was aware of that set, but I thought that promotion was already over. Wasn't aware that it was staggered in the US.
