  1. I was 8 years old when I got my first Lego Classic Space set LL918. I remember I spent hours with catalogs looking at LL924 and the Galaxy Explorer LL928. When I got LL928 from my grandma I was thrilled and couldn't let go. I even took it with me on holidays. Galaxy Explorer Dropship by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr A few years later I saw the Galaxy Commander in the store. At the time, due to my father's job, I was living in an a developing country in Africa, where Legos were very rare. I was gazing at the store window, nearly paralyzed and probably with a wide open mouth. I had just past my birthday and for Christmas time I would have to wait a long time. As quickly as I could I ran back home broke that piggy bank into pieces, took everything I had and ran back to the store. I still remember the feelings I had when building this spaceship and looking at every new part as if it were yesterday. Galaxy Commander Dropship_1 by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr Now, decades later, being an AFOL I still love space topics, specially neo classic space models from other Afols. A few years ago I remember seeing Wolf Leews modernized version of LL928 (and 924 and 918) in LegoIdeas and having exactly the same feelings. I tried to push it in LegoIdeas but unfortunately it did not make it to the threshold. Wolf Leews, if you see this post, thanks for sharing the instructions. I have your models in my showcase ever since. The idea of an own classic space model did not let go of me. It took me again years of thinking how to approach this topic. My problem was I wanted everything. I wanted to have a command centre, several spaceships, some robots some cool versatile and functional vehicles, a garage where the vehicles would go for repair, a habitat, a repair bay for the robots. And I wanted the antagonists as well: Blacktrons! And I wanted everybody to build up his own space station. Uff! Galaxy Explorer Commander Dropship I knew this was impossible. Then my Lego Pueblo came to mind. It was a 4in1 set proposal at LegoIdeas that you could buy multiple times and stack to each other building up your own Pueblo village. My Lego Pueblo did not make it to the threshold but if I did such a concept once, maybe I could do it again. Many months of thinking and planning what to do, which bricks to use, color scheme, how to combine classic space with Blacktron, drawing and doing research followed. Then I started building. The target was a 3in1 space creator set with three different scenarios that you could combine forming a big space centre. Each scenario should have its own theme and its own playability concept. At the same time some models of one scenario should connect to models of other scenarios, so at the end you have one big unity. I also needed a story. As I love sci-fi and astronomy this part was the easiest one for me. What came out was space station "Antares", a 3in1 space creator set, where New Classic Space searches for Legonit ressources and Blacktrons trying to steal it from them. One alternate build is the Mining Outpost, the other one is the Bot Repair Bay and one is the Galaxy Dropship. 9 Antares Classic Space3x by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr With the Galaxy Dropship I combined the features of the Galaxy Explorer and the Galaxy Commander and built a mashup that had its own look. Like the Galaxy Commander the dropship can be split into a space fighter and the cargo bay. Like the Commander it may hold a space lab. But it also may hold a space buggy like the Galaxy Explorer. Since the space buggy is from scenario Mining Outpost, I decided it may also hold the truck from its own scenario. Then I continued. The Galaxy Dropship may hold the trailer the fuel or plasma tanks or even a small space fighter which actually is the cockpit of the robot of scenario Bot Repair Bay. The set seems to be huge, too big, but actually it is only big when the set is acquired multiple times. As a single set it has less bricks than the biggest official LegoIdeas set. I hope you like it and support it at LegoIdeas. It is another attempt to bring back some space without StarWars. 5 Antares Galaxy Dropship by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr 6 Galaxy Dropship Hangar by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr Guys I do not want to bore you too much. Please take a look for yourself at LegoIdeas. Check out the three different video animations (search for "Legocionado" at YouTube) and take a look at the pics of the updates at LegoIdeas (I have made some animated gifs explaining the concept). 2. Hello everyone! A while ago I stumbled upon @Lobot's bricklinking threads, and I decided to bricklink my favourite set, 10195 Republic dropship with at ot. Here is an interesting fact, I didn't use bricklink. At that time I never used bricklink and wasn't familiar with it either, so I went on Rebrickable for a parts list and uploaded it onto brickowl. Does anyone use that site? Anyway, I bought everything from one seller to cut down shipping costs... but the results turned out pretty great in my opinion. All the features worked and the colours looked right. I dunno, but I felt proud of myself after finally completing the order in after what seemed a long time. Now it waas time for the parts to arrive. On an extra note, I got the set for very cheap, around 300 AUD. Go figure. Here it is! The dropship: The AT OT: Everything works! Compatible with the 7675 AT TE and also compatible with 8098 Turbo Tank I hope you enjoyed this, comments are welcomed! Hint: I have ordered parts for another bricklinked project, be on the lookout for another topic soon!
  3. NEW Models will appear in replies later in this thread Models in this thread: RAZOR CREST RIOT MAR'S STARFIGHTER NEW REPUBLIC PRISON SHIP OUTLAND TIE FIGHTER IMPERIAL DROPSHIP JUGGERNAUGHT TREXLER MARAUDER COBB VANTH'S SPEEDER 546-CLASS CRUISER (ARQUITENS) RAZOR CREST Hello everybody I thought I would take a short break from building stuff from the animated series and build something “real”. Also what better way to celebrate the launch of the first live action Star Wars TV series than by building something out of LEGO?! Unfortunately being in the UK I might have to wait to actually watch it. ☹ Anyway I present my MINI version of the Mando’s starship ‘The Razor Crest’. And I must say I am really pleased with how this little model turned out. I am especially pleased with how the engines have turned out. At first I was not sure how to attach them and keep them at the right level but in the end I settled on the minifigure neck brackets. The engines themselves are built around a 1x1 brick with studs on the sides and the two ends of the engines are connected with a 4L Bar. I also think those grey ingot pieces give the shape perfectly. The ship also goes from 1 stud wide to 2 and back again so I could use those new triangle tiles for the rear ramp section. I have also made the usual ‘Planets’ style display with the new Mandalorian minifigure. I could go on but I will let the model speak for itself. Let me know what you think. Jon PS. Is it just me or does this ship remind anyone else of the ‘Serenity’ from Firefly?
  4. Hi everyone, This is my latest creation: Futuron Dropship. I wanted to build a dropship and was inspired by several Star Wars cruisers. This dropship can transport an exploration car and droids. The front can be opened and two people are positioned behind the controls. At the back is a ramp, that can be openend (like a plane). The roof can be removed to see the interior. See more pictures in my Flickr album. A few months ago, I've build some speeders for Futuron. One other picture is in the same album I mentioned earlier. Sander
  5. Hi everyone, it is my first time creating a post in Star Wars forum. I usually create City theme MOC. #75280 is a hot topic recently. So I designed this 501st Legion Attack Dropship. This model is base on the dropship in Hasbro's 2013 Movie Herores Class I vehicle collection. If you want to build it, I have published the full instruction in my latest Youtube video:
  6. The Platipus Class Imperial Shuttle never saw extensive service. It was designed to be slightly smaller than the Tydirium Class with heavy missile armament, but its dependency on supply lines quickly got the project cancelled after a handful of them saw limited action against pirate raiders. The foot soldiers liked it because it was a mix between a Tank Buster and a Transport vehicle ( MI-24 Hind wink wink ) I wanted to design something that had the marks of a Star Wars craft with added shapes inspired by real life animals (Platipus) and aquatic insects (Water beetle) with a Tie Advanced jammed in there :D The craft has no internals. It is just for display. Feedback is welcome
  7. Location: E11 - The Fascini Cluster Tags: Vehicle, Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Exploration, Civil --Weekly Explorer's Transmission-- --Log of Eagle-Eye Silver-- --12 Oktobrinali 3815-- After Kawashita spent some time mining Sector E11, a treaty was struck to share the awesomnium-rich asteroid field between Kawashita and Octan Corp. The sharing agreement gives Octan Corp. the opportunity to acquire the precious resource. I’ve been piloting an OT-14 Zelus dropship-style shuttle this past week making cargo runs between the large asteroids in the Fascini Cluster. It’s fairly menial work, confirming a different manifest a few times a day and running between asteroid and fleet endlessly. At least the Zelus is nimble and quick. The four Pegasus TFG thrusters are controlled independently by the flight control computer and that vectoring makes for impressive maneuverability for landing and docking as well as at high speed. There’re even rumors of Octan SpecOps modifying some of these shuttles for their use, and of course painting them black. After piloting this thing for a week, I can certainly see the appeal. --End-- I really need to build more in the week! More pics tomorrow-ish, I need some sleep...
  8. Hello all, just a warning- this is pic heavy. I don't think there were any restrictions on that in the guidelines, but oh well. I also would like to apologize for the annoying shadow of my head in some of the shots; that's just how it turned out with my lighting setup. Now a brief prelude. It is a period of Galactic Civil War all throughout the Galaxy, around one year after the famous Battle of Endor. General and Princess Leia Organa has sent Han Solo and his wookiee friend Chewbacca to recover stolen credits on the planet Bnar, a system in the Blaxant Sector, a space deep in Imperial territory. Han and his small squadron had almost managed to escape the imperial outpost when an imperial dropship full of the dreaded Storm Troopers arrived on the scene. Figless. Just the base and terrain. Well that's a wrap. Thanks for looking everyone and may the force be with you... always ~~Strider~~ Sorry, forgot to mention in the title- this is in the Large Category
  9. While waiting for more building materials for Inferno HQ we decided that it was time the Agents of Godwins Hollow upgraded their vehicles. The first two are some basic MODs/repaints to vehicles from existing sets but the third is a MOC dropship allowing the Agents to get significant numbers of personnel into the fray quickly. 11. Scene from James Cameron's 1986 movie 'Aliens' So far I've only built the front section of the dropship plus the cargo hold which is big enough to carry a full size 14-wide Larry Lars APC. So I hope to take some shots of the APC on the ramp when I've finished the tail section of the model. In case any of you youngsters are wondering what 'Punch it Bishop' means, here's the scene from Aliens:
