  1. Have you been there before? If not, 2 days surely is not enough! But then of course, I'm biased because I love Berlin to death. Such a wonderful city!
  2. In a fascinating city with so much to see and do as Berlin, you really shouldn't spend an entire day shopping for LEGO imo.
  3. Wait, what? You can do that?
  4. Hold your friends close and your enemies even closer.
  5. I think that Helm's Deep is the better set of the two with much better play features and acessories. But if you want both, I'd say buy the Joust now - and then wait for a sale before buying Helm's Deep, at a later time.
  6. Indeed. While the structure is perhaps not as well-fleshed out as earlier flagships of Pirates past, due to containing much fewer bricks, I think the better minifigs and, especially, much better colorscheme more than makes up for it. I can't wait to build it!
  7. Already posted this in the "what did you buy today" Pirates thread, but I feel this is such a big bargain that I *had* to post it here as well: I finally received my very first ever pirate ship today; 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty, which I had pretty much given up hopes of finding. At least new, which is what I managed to get. And cheap, too, because it was without the box: 350 DKR (~$57) (plus postage, 67 DKR) - which is half of the cheapest new set I could find on Bricklink! And since I don't care about the box anyway, I'm really really happy. Only downside is that the instructions are bend and curled on the edges, but eh... that sometimes happens out-of-the-box as well. And it's not a major issue for me. I was too slow to get a couple of other extremely cheap new Pirates and POTC sets from the same seller though, which is too bad. But still, I can't complain about this purchase.

Next up: trying to find Queen Anne's Revenge and The Black Pearl on clearance sales...
  9. Well technically, Chile is a part of The Americas much the same as USA is.
  10. I suppose minimum wages and stressfull working conditions creates apathy. I wonder just how widespred this phenomenen is.
  11. My local Føtex did it as well with all sets, though their selection was limited and they only had 22 POTC sets... a few HP, Ninjago and mostly SW and Cars... though their pricing actually went below 50 % initially and even lower after a few weeks, to get rid of the rest! I got myself some Series 4 and 5 minifigs for 5 kr. each. But this was a local store thing only, unfortunately. I can see that online shops are sending out orders on LOTR from August 1, so I would *assume* that clearance sales in Bilka will begin next week...
  12. I've been waiting patiently for the same thing (sort of) - only with a bit different outlook; every time one or more themes are replcaed by new ones, Bilka usually sell the old ones at 50 % off. I got half of the Kingdoms line this way, and I was hoping to get my hands on several of the POTC sets this way as well. And since LOTR and Monster Fighters are being introduced next month (I think), I'm expecting such a 50 % sale (on discontinued themes at least) to hit soon... and thus, I've been checking Bilka's papers twice per week for a while. I could probably settle for 40 % off, though.
  13. Sadly, I have yet to own any of the pirate ships... so I pretty much want them all! Number one on my list is definately the 2010 Imperial Flagship though, followed by Queen Anne's Revenge. The Black Pearl and Brickbeard's Bounty are both high on my list as well, and if things turn out as I hope I'll be getting the latter within a few days.
  14. Wait for a sale, but definately Helm's Deep. Best set of 2012.
  15. Lagoon Lockup was the biggest Pirate set I had in my childhood, and I had sooo much fun with it... so due to nostalgia, I am of course biased - but I'd say definately go with LL. It has so many things going for it, and there's not really one thing this set has that LL doesn't have as well. Plus more, of course.
  16. That attack barge could have been a pretty good set as well if they had made it in brown instead of grey. I mean, a ship made out of STONE?? Come on...
  17. Fantastic little set, especially for the price. Heck, even for the price you paid it's still on par with the pricing of licensed sets today. Great review, I'll be looking forward to more. How did you manage to find all those sets in sealed boxes? Bricklink? Must have cost you a fortune all in all. Can't say I'm not a bit jealous.
  18. Awesome! I really need to get some of those scorpion soldiers and shields, they're great.
  19. I love it and would love to own it myself some day. In fact, I've recently begun to look into the possibility to buy some of the KKII sets... simply because I love the colors and figs from the Shadow Knights faction. Edit: Oh, and good review btw! Are you going to review more KKII sets? I've noticed that a bunch of them lack reviews here. I'd love more!
  20. Good review, but below average set for several reasons: - No new figures, only rehashes - and in some cases, poor ones. Like the jester or the Dragon queen. I mean, they could at least have used the new green dress from the joust set or something. - Poor quality which is quite obviousy to the eye. - Really ugly plastic baseplate that has no other uses. - Unimpressive towers.
  21. Nice review. Small sets back then really were more impressive than they are today, imo. Impressive structure given the limited number of bricks used.
  22. You've made up your mind and I'm sure it's the right decision for you, so that's cool. I do however think that they'll do more X-Men sets to coincide with X-Men: First Class 2, which I believe they're filming right now. Also, aren't they bringing back Jean Grey in the comics now...? I saw a pic of her last week in some newly released teaser material... But anyway, like you say, it could be unlikely that they'll release her in the green 80's costume of hers - which is certainly the most iconic and aesthetically pleasing Phoenix outfit of them all.
  23. Nevermind mind people like him, that just means there'll be more Helm's Deep sets for the rest of us.
