  1. Very impressive!
  2. A simple yet absolutely brilliant little moc.
  3. You guys are lucky; here, it's roughly £20!

Has anyone attempted to build the Transformers sets in LEGO? Seeing as how the instructions are available online and all: http://www.hasbro.com/kre-o/en_US/discover/instructions.cfm
  5. One of the most unique mocs I have seen for a long time, well done.
  6. That's pretty awesome, love your use of various monsters.
  7. Stunning! And you only spent about a month building it? Amazing... well done!
  8. Helm's Deep and the extra wall section in Uruk-hai Army are the only ones I see as "must have". I'll likely get more of the LOTR sets eventually, however, now that it's the only Castle theme around. I'd get the Vampyre Castle and the zombie graveyard set from the Monster Hunters theme as well, if not for the (for me) completely useless vehicles and figures being big parts of those sets.
  9. There are a bunch of good ones for a Castle/Pirates fan like myself; elf (which I sadly have yet to come to own ), musketeer, evil dwarf, evil knight, grandma visitor, highland battler, etc. - but my favorite is probably the Forestman, as he was the first fig of them all that peaked my interest and a brilliant throwback to one of my favorite subthemes from my childhood:
  10. Ah but then you can't use any cannons nor imperial uniforms. :p
  11. I agree that alternative models should be brought back, they added a lot to sets from the 80s and 90s.
  12. The same goes for the hobbits. Oh, and... what's up with Boromir's hair color?
  13. Fantastic. Makes me want to play STALKER again. Where did you get the green skeleton? Never seen those before...
  14. I wouldn't call it yellow, more like orange... But yeah, I've never seen the flesh on any torso match the flesh of the heads very well. Their yellow torsos and heads match a lot better, must be a color-issue.
  15. I agree with those saying that the golden age of LEGO is right now, having begun in 2009. The sets, parts, minifigs and themes have pretty much been better than ever in this 3-year period - and the only thing I'd complain about is the price, as you get a lot less for your money these days than in the 80s/90s. I used to think that the sets from my own childhood were the golden age... but after actually comparing those sets to new sets, I realised that it was just my nostalgia talking.
  16. I do the same thing with all licensed torsos I get hold of that aren't cursed by flesh parts. Most of the POTC torsos were sadly "ruined", but thankfully, many of the LOTR torsos are devoid of flesh - and obviously, the orcs, uruk-hais and the ring-wraiths works fine as they are. Torsos that will work great with yellow heads and hands: Boromir, Eomer, Gandalf, Gimli, Haldir, Theoden, Legolas, Rohan Soldier... a good and long list!
  17. No particular time, though obviously roughly 1600-1800. I see LEGO Pirates as I see LEGO Castle; a fantasy setting that does not need to follow any specific time period or reality too stringent or accurately. I also like using the fantasy creatures from both Pirates and Castle, which makes 'realism' a moot point. But obviously, I'm still trying to maintain some sort of historical feel - as in I'm not throwing around dinosaurs and space ships and stuff.
  18. I finally found somewhere to get them all. Thanks to those who replied in PMs.
  19. I agree. The non-peg leg Barbossa would have been great as well for a pirate. And Angelica's torso. And Will Turner's. And the coach driver's. And... well, pretty much all of them. Oh what could have been...
  20. Haha I hadn't noticed that. Good fun.
  21. I just noticed the new member title I have so generously been given due to my activity in this thread.
  22. With a yellow head, he's probably my favorite pirate minifig of all time. I wish more of the POTC minifigs didn't have any flesh on their torsos, he's sadly one of the few exceptions.
  23. Those green skeletons look pretty great.
  24. They look pretty good, thanks for sharing. I'm always intrigued by these clone brands, especially when they actually bring something new and different in a good quality - instead of just ripping off LEGO. I would have been all over these military sets when I was a kid.
