  1. Medieval Market Village has been my favorite ever since I first lay my eyes on pictures from the set. It's simply truly magnificent, a work of art. Nothing else comes close as far as I'm concerned.
  2. That's actually a pretty spot om depiction, well done.
  3. Fantastic news, thanks! I was hoping for 50 % off clearance items, but oh well... The Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge will be worth it at 40 % as well. Maybe they only do the 50 % thing off in late december.
  4. Could not the MVV serve as a "old" part of your city, perhaps? Or maybe as a medieval play/market in a park?
  5. I agree with this. You should demand some of your money back.
  6. A great little vignette, it nails it pretty spot on.
  7. Indeed, if I stumbled across that set at that price, I'd buy my third copy of that set without blinking!
  8. That's one heck of a bargain buy!
  9. I'm puzzled as to how people can get excited over something like this. It's a tiny white LEGO square with a couple of other random bricks on it! Honestly, if I didn't know what it was, I'd never guess 'cake'...
  10. I never thought of that, amusing find.
  11. So basically, their workers can steal packages risk-free this way? This is madness.
  12. That's pretty outrageous, I would not let such an incident go personally. Don't you have to sign for a package when it's delivered?
  13. This is one of the most spectacular LEGO creations I have ever seen. Absolutely amazing work, I hope you're proud - because you should be!
  14. Fantastic build, this must have taken quite some time to build. Well done! Though I must say, I think it's too big and contains too many figures to be a realistic 'ordinary' LEGO set. Maybe a USC though. Agreed, it's a shame something as iconic as the tree is missing. But eh, he had to stop building somewhere.
  15. Wow, that's terrible. If I didn't know better, I'd think that ebay and Paypal had made a secret "let's harass all sellers as much as we can" club.
  16. I agree. Not saying the OP is necessarily lying, for some people perhaps the above is indeed logical and usual behaviour. But if you're really so eager to throw things away and be careless, then stuff like this might happen. You should take it as a lesson and don't do it again.
  17. Negative feedback is not allowed?
  18. Here's a list of cool stuff to see in Berlin I made for a friend of mine who was going there a couple of years ago: Reichstag Seat of parliament. Pretty cool building with an interesting story - and a great view from the roof! Brandenburger Tor The old city port is perhaps the most famous building of Berlin. It is, among other things, where Ronald Reagan spoke the famous "Mr. Gorbatjov - tear down this wall!" line. Olympiastadion The old Olympic Stadion built for the 1936 (I think) games by the nazis (which shows in the architecture and certain design elements). An impressive sight with a fascinating history whether you're a sports fan or not. Kurfürstendamm A looooong streat with lots of shops. If you want to shop for something, chances are you'll find it on this street! East Side Gallery Presently the longest piece of the wall that still stands erect which runs by the river Spree and is roughly 1.3 km long. It's filled with all sorts of interesting graffiti. Souveneir shops there sells alledged pieces of the walls, East German military medals and other stuff. Großer Tiergarten A large and impressive park where they used to hunt wildlife back in the days. Alexanderplatz Home of the impressive TV Tower, the Berliner Fensehturm and the World Clock, Weltzeituhr - which shows nearly all times from across the world. Berlin Zoo One of the largest zoos in the world. If you like animals, go see it. If you don't, skip it. Potsdamer Platz Close to Brandenburger Tor is this space that joins West and East Berlin. It has a bunch of exciting, hyper-modern architecture. Checkpoint Charlie The famous old checkpoint between East and West, now a museum. The actual checkpoint is still there to see. The checkpoint itself is pretty cool, but the museum is rather boring imo. And that's from someone who otherwise loves history. Das Klo A fun little pub with a toilet theme. Refreshingly different and quite fun. If you're going out for a beer, this wouldn't be a bad place to do so. KaDeWe Kaufhaus Des Westens is a giant mall at the end of Kurfürstendamm. Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche An old church from 1895 that was bombed to ruins during WWII. Instead of repairing it, they let the ruins stand as a monument and instead erected a rather peculiar new church next to it instead. Together, it's an interesting sight. Unter Den Linden A boulevard that takes its name from the many trees along it. It is home to a lot of statues and memoriums and leads to Brandenburger Tor. It is especially spectacular at night, when lit. Rotes Rathaus "The Red City Hall", known for... well, being red. It's a pretty sight.
  19. That shouldn't be feasible to do at all. If it is, your "self service check out" station is extremely poorly constructed. In Denmark, such stations measure weight of the goods when you scan them - meaning that to cheat like this, you'd have to find a label that weighs exactly the same as the LEGO you want to steal. Not saying it's impossible, but you'd have to put a lot of work into it.
  20. I may be biased due to my love for Pirates, but I think the QAR works best as a stand-alone of the three. Ships just tend to do that in my opinion, whether they're actual ships or starships. While I do enjoy a good castle, I don't think Hogwarts Castle (any of them, really) is all that aesthetically impressive - and they all look unfinished and just a part of something bigger to me. Jabba's Palace, I'd say you've more or less talked yourself out of buying; if you don't need the figs, don't care for the setting and don't find the build in neither this nor it's upcoming companion piece particularly interesting... then why bother?
  21. I just went through next week's offers from Bilka: nothing...
  22. I finished building this set today as my first pirate ship ever, and I was not dissapointed! In fact, this was one of my most - if not the most - enjoyable builds since becoming an AFOL. When I first looked at the 4 bags, I was thinking "that's all?" - and indeed, it doesn't contain nearly as many pieces as the big ships of the past (like the BSB or or the SES). In fact, about 300 pieces less than either. Which is quite a lot. But rather than bashing it for containing so relatively few pieces for a large ship, I'd rather commend LEGO on managing to create such a complete and impressive looking ship without using more pieces. When looking at it, not once have I felt that it looked particularly bare or unfinished. And the colors are the simply amazing and work really well together to create an overall aesthetically pleasing ship. In fact, I may like this colorscheme better than even the 2010 IFS. And the dark red used here is probably my favorite LEGO color right now, it's simply stunning together with nuances of brown and pearl gold. The figures are great as well, though it would have been nice with another exclusive fig. The one exclusive fig it does contain is really well made though, and sufficiently different from other women/maidens ever released to be something special. A bit too few pirates for such a big ship perhaps, but I understand and applaud LEGO deciding to throw in a few adversaries instead. And really, who doesn't have an abundance of extra pirates anyway? Of course, it's not all good: the lack of an anchor is outright astonishing. This mighty ship could and should have sported an anchor somewhere, and I'm puzzled as to why LEGO decided not to include one. Also, the weirdly placed cannon on the stern is silly and should not have been where it is - but at least that's easy to mod yourself. All in all, I think this ship is great and I'm thrilled to finally own it!
  23. And you feel that ebay sellers are more trustworthy than Bricklink sellers? For whatever reason, if I may ask?
  24. You paid 135 USD for a single LEGO minifig?
