  1. Yes, it is 10,000. In the Japanese beta version, which ended up with the Shinkai submarine and soon the Hayabusa satellite, the number was 1000, but now that it's gone world-wide, the number has been raised to 10,000. And I agree. It's so high that it'll take several years before any of the projects get enough votes - if any ever do.
  2. I like these new sets. I'll probably try to get most of them, at least the vehicles - apart from the truck with the ugly amphibious monster. I've always found that a bit amusing. As if the wailing sirens and flashing blue lights weren't enough. I'd love to see somebody go "Arrgh, what's that noise and those annoying lights? Well, it doesn't say ECNALUBMA on it, so it's definitely no ambulance. Good, I don't need to move out of the way, then."
  3. The best of luck to you! :) You need to remember, though, that in virtually every part of the world apart from the US, this is a sport most people don't care about at all. I know it's huge across the pond, but I'm a European sports journalist, and where I work we hardly ever mention American football... :)
  4. I forgot it until just as I was leaving work this afternoon. Then it suddenly turned up - so I grabbed it and gave it a new home. Here it is:
  5. I like both of your newest photos, but the lighting in this one is great. Well done :)
  6. I couldn't have said it any better. As far as I'm concerned, the sets keep improving every year now.
  7. If I were you, I'd contact Eurobricks member shutinc, who's another victim of the same bastard - as is Lego's own Jamie Berard, as you'll see if you go back a few pages in this thread. I know they've both reported the seller, and JB told me he's put TLG's lawyers on the case. The seller appears to have picked MOCs he liked and made instructions based on pictures he found, selling them on using those very same pics. He probably has no understanding whatsoever of copyright law and intellectual property rights.
  8. Great layout - I think what I like most about it is the fact that it's not too crowded. Many layouts suffer from people wanting to cram as many sets or houses or vehicles into them as possible - yours is just about right, you managed to make it look busy, but not too much. And your trees - especially those outside the Pet Shop - are very nice additions, to top the whole thing off. I'd love to do something like this with my stuff at some point when I have the available space for it.
  9. 3. Ninja Nin's Underwater Bank & Money Transfer - 2 points 7. lisqr's Subs - 1 point 11. Thor Lund's Subvan Campicus SXF 2000 - 1 point 12. Legostein's Submarine Slip-up - 1 point
  10. That's a nice and detailed modular bank you've got there - I wish you'd build it for real. I've got a bank of my own that's just waiting for me to take some proper pics of it - but I'll need some proper sunlight for that. There are a lot of similarities - like the central staircase, the ATM (although mine is enclosed) and the counters - but you've also done what I regret not doing: Utilizing that space beneath the ground floor for making a vault. It's an excellent (and logical) feature. I can't believe I didn't do that.
  11. If, like you say, you don't care about the motor, I wouldn't be in doubt at all. The Maersk train is gorgeous - the 3677 looks much more like a random pile-up of parts and cars. I've got a Maersk and would probably buy another one of those before picking up a 3677.
  12. This would probably be much more at home in the Train Tech forum; that said, it's a lovely train station. And although you went with dark blue (very understandable), the colours are still instantly recognisable for something coming from the era of the 7777 idea book. The modularity and lighting are nice features as well, and those flowerpots really add to the whole. Well done!
  13. You might find some interesting tips in this topic.
  14. Yesterday, I found one of these behind a computer keyboard in one of the video editing rooms at work (I work in television): I really can't imagine how it got there. I meant to bring it home with me, but forgot it. Well, it'll probably still be there on Monday.
  15. Yep, that's what I'm saying. Just to get this straight: I didn't buy my Café Corner or Market Street (or any other Lego set I own) to resell it and make money. I've bought every set (bar one single exception) because I wanted to build it and enjoy the experience, and I've done just that. In Norway, there are no Lego stores, and Shop@Home arrived only a couple of years ago, so I was just lucky I managed to get those sets before the prices got ridiculous. But now that they are, I thoroughly love looking at them knowing that not everybody owns them. Is that so wrong?
  16. He's still using Lego - that last one (the biggest) isn't a month old yet. Printed photos of his works are available here - I've been seriously considering buying a couple... Oh, and his blog is here. It features some very interesting insights into how he builds his masterpieces.
  17. Very nice! I'd never have thought of this.
  18. I hate to be a killjoy here, but I really can't see this ever working out. For one thing, you'll need 10,000 - ten thousand - Cuusoo users signing up for it, and you have to take into consideration that there are probably quite a lot of Lego fans (like myself) who don't want TLG to bring it back, because they already own it and like the exclusivity. And then you need to read the rules of Cuusoo carefully - they state that if you get 10,000 supporters, they will consider re-releasing the set. So you'll need 10,000 supporters just to make them consider it. I'm sorry, but it won't happen. But if it ever does, I'll be tipping my hat to your persistence. EDIT: Spelling. Turns out this is a difficult language.
  19. I like this - the colours look good, and the bay window/balcony is a very nice touch. I also particularly like the stairs, both front and rear. Very well done - especially for a first modular.
  20. I've got a few of the Euro tiles, and I can vouch for them looking the part. This guy knows what he's doing.
  21. With the risk of repeating myself: Wonderful. Your stonework is just superb. Really looking forward to your upcoming creations!
  22. I've occasionally used a 1x1x5 brick to place 1x1 round plates between studs, and that usually works quite well, but I can see how the window might have less grip and therefore be better suited for it. Good idea!
  23. Thanks again, guys! I found some more pieces in my mailbox today, so some more cars are on the way :) That would be the sports car, as the speed record for a steam engine is 202.6 km/h. And the Shooting Brake is faster than that. Roger had his favourite mechanic fettle around with it a bit, you see. It does look like a Chevy. But that, I have to say, is Sean Kenney's work. Thank you both! I'm not really sure what kind of "sharp" you're referring to, but I probably agree :)
  24. I continue to be amazed by people who dare to start such hugely ambitious projects. This is a highly impressive build - one that I definitely wouldn't have had room for in my apartment... Well done!
  25. I prefer six-wide vehicles myself, but with eight-wide you do get a lot more detail in. After seeing the first pictures, I really liked your double-decker, especially how you made it a modular design. But after having seen the last pictures, of the scale model, I am even more impressed. You've captured the shape exellently. Well done!
